  1. Started watching Neon Genesis Evangelion about two weeks ago. Great series so far. I'm renting the series from Netflix, so I have to wait for each new disc. I'm going to start disc 5 tonight.

My favorite character is Rei. Least favorite is Asuka. As for Shinji, I didn't like him at first, but now I'm really starting to like him.

  2. I can't get enough of the new trailer. It's so funny, and I can't stop listening to that music!

This game is looking even better and better with each new trailer. I absolutely cannot wait until November 15th. I'm going to get it for PS3, and later I'll get it for Playstation Vita too once that console comes out.

  3. Okay, I promised that the next anime I would watch was going to be Panty & Stocking, Neon Genesis Evangelion, or Totoro, but last night I ended up watching Eden of the East instead, because it sounded good, and I remembered reading on a promotional card of it that it was from the creator of Ghost in the Shell (which I saw during the time I was absent from SSMB. Very good series). I am loving this show so far. It has great animation, great characters, lots of action, and a good story too.

  4. I completely disagree with Silencer. Azumanga Daioh is hilarious!

Anyway, I haven't been able to watch any anime recently. I've said many times before that the next anime I will watch will be Panty & Stocking, Neon Genesis Evangelion, or My Neighbor Totoro, but I haven't had time to watch any of them.

  5. The only Mario Party games I have are 1 and 6. They're nothing great really. Sure, 1 is kind of fun, but 6...it has some fun standard mini-games, but the mic mini-games suck and are so irresponsive. For example, I would say something clearly, and then it tells me to repeat it because I "didn't say it clearly". BULLSHIT.

  6. I have Sonic Heroes on the PS2 (I don't see why people say the PS2 version is so bad, but maybe that's because I have only played it on the PS2), and I agree. TBH, I think it's an okay game. I'd give it a 6 out of 10, but I do agree that it was the game that started the downfall of the series.

Like you said, the grinding mechanics sucked, the large loops can be frustrating, the camera control is even worse than the Adventure series, the bosses weren't that fun, etc. Also, while I do like the Chaotix, I don't think they should have had them in this game, unless they made the item-searching fun and open-ended like the treasure hunting stages in SA1 and 2.

  7. Somewhere, a Sackboy is crying.

Okay, I apologize. Psychonauts is the SECOND best platformer of our generation.

Anyway, I started playing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door yesterday, and all I have to say is: THIS GAME FUCKING ROCKS! I can't believe I missed out on it all these years. Also, I see many resemblances to the Mario and Luigi trilogy, with the quirky humor and the battle system and whatnot.

    Will be playing more tonight.

  8. Ever since I got my new laptop a few days ago, I've been trying out some other games and playing through them. Right now, I'm playing for the first time through Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, and the original Splinter Cell. I'm replaying Psychonauts for the second time and I've also been playing a ton of Team Fortress 2 :D

  9. The only things I liked about '06 are;

    - The FMV cutscenes. That were so beautiful. Also, some aspects of them, such as Sonic tapping one Egg Gunner with his foot making it keel over backwards. What made that extra funny is the "PING!" sound effect. Just frikkin' ROFL.

    - Silver. He's not a massively loved character but I thought he was a very interesting, loveable character.

    - The soundtrack is just incredible. Of particular acclaim are the themes to Aquatic Base, Crisis City and Kingdom Valley. And who could ever forget Solaris Phase 2? Ah, let's just say that the whole OST was made of win.

Those are the only things I liked really :/ The rest of the game is...well....horrible.

  10. Funny, I remember on SSMB that lots of people loved this game when it first came out, and whenever I would say something negative about the game, everyone would give me negative rep. It seems that if you bash SatBK, you get negative rep, but if you bash Sonic CD or the Sonic Adventure games, you get positive rep.

Anyway, I hate the game for reasons already posted. Boring levels, horrible and irresponsive controls, lame story just like Secret Rings, and...yeah.

  11. I LOVED House of Mouse! Every day when I came home from school during the 3rd grade, I would watch this show, and then play my PS2 or Gamecube. Good times...

I always liked how there was be a plot inbetween each cartoon. My favorite episode was the one where Pete took over the House of Mouse (the BOOM-DA-BOOM part always had me cracking up), and my favorite short was the one where Donald got a computer.

If only Disney Channel/Toon Disney were still good today. The only thing worth watching on those channels nowadays is Phineas and Ferb, because unlike the other current Disney shows, that one actually has good writing and humor.

  12. I've been on a Rayman kick lately. I downloaded the original Rayman from the Nintendo eShop (I used to have it on DOS, but we sold it years ago after we got rid of our Windows 98), and have been playing it nonstop. Brings back memories. Going to get Rayman 3 soon, because I never got to own that one, sadly. I rented it, never got a chance to own it.

Also, guess what game I got yesterday?

I'll give you a hint. It's for Gamecube, it has the Nintendo mascot as a paper cut-out, and I've wanted to play it (and the original) for years.

That's right, PAPER MARIO: THE THOUSAND-YEAR DOOR!!!!!

I bought it from the pawn shop yesterday. Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I will play it later today.

  13. http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=157463

Looks like Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D won't be out until 2012. The news just keeps getting better and better for the 3DS, doesn't it? If this is true, then Nintendo should probably stop showing it in their new UK 3DS TV ad.

Does this mean that it's delayed in the US too?

Anyway, I love MGS3. It's my favorite in the series, and my favorite game of all time. When the 3DS remake was first announced, I was like, "FUCK YEAH!!!! Now I can play the game on trips, or far away from home! AND in 3D!" On the day it comes out, the first thing I'm going to do that day is drive over to the store and buy it.

  14. Yes, that would be silly. However, people bash Dimps Sonic 4 wasn't as good as it should have been and their other Sonic titles have gotten progressively worse, to the point now of being utter shite. That's why Dimps gets bashed.

I disagree. Sonic Colors DS was not shit.

  15. I honestly don't know what you were expecting. It's getting a lot more for it than the DS did in its first year, and the DS never had a virtual console or download title service. It might not look as good as the DS does as a whole, yet, but the DS actually took a damn long time to get that good. The good times didn't really start rolling until 2006. Though I can assume you might not have bought a DS or PSP at launch because, it was a lot worse for them.

I couldn't agree with you more.

TBH, I actually play my 3DS a hell of a lot more than my DS. I think it's a great console, I don't think it's disappointing at all, and the lineup of upcoming games is actually very good in my eyes. Metal Gear Solid 3D, Super Mario 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle, Resident Evil Revelations, Star Fox 64 3D, Mario Kart 3DS, and Crush 3D. Also, the 3D effects are very good too.

  16. My thoughts:

Just because Sonic 4 wasn't as good as what people hoped it would be doesn't mean that they should bash the entire company. Besides, I think Dimps is a great company. The Advance series was great, Sonic Rush Adventure is one of my favorite Sonic games (AND one of my favorite DS games), and Sonic Colors DS was superb, but too easy (except for some of the challenges). Plus, if it weren't for Sonic Colors DS, I wouldn't have gotten back into the Sonic franchise, so I thank Dimps for helping me get back into the franchise. (NOTE: I have not played the Wii version, in case anyone is wondering.)

I also sort of enjoyed Sonic 4, but I don't think it was the true sequel to the Genesis Sonic games though, and I think they could have done a lot better with it. But just because one game didn't meet the fanbase's demands doesn't mean they should bash the entire company.
