  1. Creator of Earthworm Jim is homophobic and against religious freedom... Wow. http://www.destructoid.com/earthworm-jim-creator-no-friend-to-gay-people--202271.phtml

Wow, If only he said these things before a game of his was due a release, he might find it not selling a many copies.

      Well that's an unpleasant surprise.

I just lost all respect I had for him. Sure he complained whenever he didn't get his way, but I loved alot of his work.

      Let's boycott Earthworm Jim.

If it had any new game that is.

    5. Preston

      Preston

Suddenly I'm glad he's no longer involved with Earthworm Jim.

      @Preston

Really? Not even a license holder? Because if I buy the XBLA game I want to make sure he doesn't get any money from it.

      TheGerkuman

Heaven forbid that any of the non-homophobic people at Shiny should get any of the money they deserve just because the creator of the franchise happens to be a homophobic asshole. :P

      Carbo

Creative control is incredibly moot nowadays within uninvolved directors and creators. Just look at Keiji Inafune.

I'm fairly sure TenNapel was incredibly critical towards the XBLA release to the point that he didn't want anyone to buy it.

@Gerkuman No, I'd love for them to get money. But I prefer not buying a game at all and not getting it over giving any money to a person I can't support.

      Hm.

I'm actually reading the original debate over at http://ratfist.com/page-99/ right now, and I'm starting to suspect that this has gotten blown out of proportion. I'll get back to you.

21st: "What argument do you have specifically against letting two adult men who love each other marry?"

DTN: The same argument I have against letting a man take a dump in the ladies room. And office appropriate for one sex isn't automatically appropriate for another, no matter how much a man loves taking a dump in the ladies room.

Funny how things can sound taken out of context.

I do NOT agree with his view, but when looked at in full his logic is at least internally consistent as evidenced by the full debate which I'm still reading.

I don't think his answer even made logical sense. Anyway, this seems topic worthy. Much more space to say shit than in these little boxes, right?

And this is precisely why celebrities shouldn't vocalize their opinions on hot-topic matters.

But this won't stop me from playing Earthworm Jim.

Feel free to make a topic, I won't since I'm a bit busy right now.

Doug TenNapel appears to be a very hardcore libertarian, and his argument against gay marriage appears to ultimately be coming from the belief that putting legal approval of gay marriage into law constitutes everyone being told what to think.

But yeah, it's difficult to discuss this properly in a comments box, although I oddly find it easier to be more frank in a status thread.

"It's not about your rights, it's about how my rights will be over if I extend the same rights to you! It's about my right to be an asshole and to smugly point out you can't get angry at me wanting to deny you rights when my denying you rights make you wish I knew what it was like not to have those rights"

      Just quoting some more.

Like I said, I don't agree with him, but his logic is internally consistent.

The big giveaway in this debate is that he's incredibly paranoid.

'The big giveaway in this debate is that he's incredibly paranoid.'

Well yeah, he's a liberterian. *trollface*
