  1. That Pixels movie was on TV today.

    Decided to watch it.

Well...when I say watch, I actually mean nap. I remember hearing bad things about it years ago and they seemed pretty accurate. I certainly don't recall laughing at anything and found most of the main characters to be arseholes.

    Had a nice nap, though.

  2. Don't know if this is related to the strange quirk. I've gone back to Mania Plus to play though the game as Sonic just for fun. But had recently goofed up. I booted up Sonic Mania, forgetting that Sonic Mania Plus wasn't physically in the Switch. So to my confusion, the game loads up as Sonic Mania, though my Mania Plus save files were still their. (Completed playthroughs of Ray and Mighty.) I couldn't select the Plus exclusive characters. Of course, Encore mode wasn't their either and the option to purchase the DLC was. That was when it hit me that I forgot to put Mania Plus in the Switch. I quit the game and put MP in and loaded it like normal. It's strange because you use the same icon and the Mania Plus content was all their still so my mistake didn't cost me anything. I'm not sure if what I described could be considered strange but it certainly surprised me.
  3. Anyone here remember or played a game called San Francisco Rush 2049?

Nostalgia mode has activated and I remember playing that game a lot with my brothers on N64.

When you drive off ramps, you could activate little wings that could turn your car horizontally and/or vertically. We'd clown around on stunt centric levels and try to perform crazy stunts for hours. ^^

    1. Fallen Angel Yohane

      Fallen Angel Yohane

I've heard of it but never played it personally. But you're bound to have that one obscure that you love that no one else heard of.

For me its my life hahaha.

    2. DanJ86

      You're saying you love your life, right? ^^;

    3. tailsBOOM!

@Fallen Angel Yohane:  Goes to closet and salutes Golden Sun shrine

  4. Sheesh...Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk was insanely hard to reach the true ending on.

Having now beaten the final boss and watched the ending.....it wasn't worth the effort. Unless I misinterpreted it all, none of it came across as a happy ending.

Sure, the big bad evil thing was killed but the sheer amount of loss that the good guys suffered was insane.

  5. So if you win a match as Joker using his final smash, it'll go straight to the results screen with the image of Joker still their.

    1. SupahBerry

You know, the whole crashing the game on Classic Mode makes much more sense now.

    2. KHCast

That’s not a glitch that’s a reference to the game

  6. Feels like a missed opportunity to have the Mii Swordfighter get an Amy costume.

  7. Suddenly feeling very dizzy.

    1. Strickerx5

Might want to take a break from the screen and lie down for a bit. A glass of water would also help.

    2. tailsBOOM!

      Any idea why?

    3. DanJ86

@tailsBOOM! No, I just looked up at the clock hanging on the wall and suddenly felt woozy. I took @Strickerx5 advice and went to lie down.

Woke up this morning feeling back to normal. 👍

  8. Started seeing Detective Pikachu adverts on TV today.

Dunno why I felt like mentioning that...

  9. DanJ86

What game are you currently playing?

Okay. As my avatar would suggest, I've been playing Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk. Another NISA game with one of my favourite character designers, Takehito Harada and favourite composers, Tenpei Sato. Perhaps because the same people are involved, I get the same vibe I got when I first played through The Witch and the Hundred Knight. They do share elements too, both being Roguelike JRPGs. But this one is first person view with turn based combat while tWatHK was real time hack and slash. Both also heavily story driven. We start by following a witch and her apprentice travelling to a mysterious town called Refrain. You as the player are "Tractie" or Tractatus De Monstrum, a book written by an unknown individual who was the only one to enter the Labyrinth of Refrain and come out alive. Strangely, you're technically not "Tractie" but the soul that possessed the book the very second the two characters arrived. The Labyrinth is rich in mana and Tractie has the power to animate puppets that will accompany it on it's journey through this mysterious place. All while learning of the town of Refrain and the characters you are working for. Dusk Witch Dronya Fun Fact: She has a prosthetic leg. Don't often see that in fictional characters. Your Master, (If you like it or not.) she comes across as harsh, uncaring and selfish very quickly. As you progress through the game, you'll grow to learn why. Something important is hidden within the Labyrinth and she's determined to get it. Luca (Holding Tractatus De Monstrum) Dronya's apprentice. She's a bright and cheerful little girl that Dronya does often treat rather harshly. The two are an odd pair and you have to wonder how they ended up working together. Though Luca is an orphan... I haven't fully completed the game yet, but it might be worth pointing out that their is at least one character that is openly a lesbian or bisexual. She doesn't come across as a negative stereotype though is rather eccentric but most of the characters have something unique going for them, it's also looking like she's a very important character to the story and not just being in the background. (Though I haven't reached any climatic scene yet, I have a strong suspicion of where the story will go with her.)
  10. Don't like giving advice but feeling like I was ignored... 😑

    1. Playmaker0122

      What's wrong?

    2. tailsBOOM!

We've all been there Dan.  Hopefully it works out

Just keep hanging in there. If the person is ignoring you, they aren't worth your time.

    5. DanJ86

To be clear, nothing has happened, yet. If the person in question is family, then not putting in the time to help them isn't an option either.

My dad is going to die of a heart attack and no amount of warnings in managing his diet is going to prevent it...

He hasn't had any kind of attack yet, he's just too casual about what he eats. Plus heart conditions are a part of his side of the family...

    6. Failinhearts

I see. If this is family, yeah, you can't leave him alone. You need to take some sort of action to force him to eat healthier, no matter what.

Confiscation, calling health services, whatever it takes.

Unfortunately I can relate. My dad is pretty much the same way but his lack of good physical selfcare has led him in the direction of high blood pressure which his side of the family has no history of. Probably the worse part though is that he acknowledges that he needs to change yet he still refuses. I hope your dad isn't being that bad and that you'll get through to him soon enough to make a difference.

  11. Oh. Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure that happened to me, too. This is what the Sonic Mania icon looked like on the software screen after downloading the game. It didn't change when I started up the physical Sonic Mania Plus. It never even occurred to me to delete my old data. I didn't really pay it too minds at the time and then forgot about it eventually. Is it really unusual?
  12. I have nothing worth saying.

    1. Failinhearts

Aw, don't say that! You got a lot of worthwhile thoughts in that mind of yours, buddy!

    2. tailsBOOM!

What do you mean?  We love hearing from you

    3. Fallen Angel Yohane

      Fallen Angel Yohane

I get that every now and then myself

      Usually in my music moods

    4. DanJ86

@tailsBOOM! It's pretty literal. What appears to be coming from the Sonic Movie is largely sounding "Bleh." Talking about it feels too boring and a little depressing. Can't really afford any new games and my RL is in a mess, which is also literal.

Trying to move out in the hopes that it'd make my parents lives easier has totally backfired and now my anxiety is at the highest it's ever been which resulted in total breakdowns that occurred several times last month. It's just another example of what a failure I am.

Just riding the waves of despair to see where it takes me.

      So, for the sake of not being a killjoy, I simply don't mention this stuff. ^^;

    5. tailsBOOM!

You're not a failure.  You're one of the kindest, most thoughtful and friendly people on this website.  You'll adjust to living on your own.  It's rough, believe me, I know because I'm miles away in college and that's stressful in and of itself (For other reasons, kind of the opposite of your's tbh).  Living on your own for the first time is a very big change, and it takes time especially for us autistic people.   I'm here to talk to you if you need it.  I have to go for a while in a little bit, but once I'm back we can talk about this more if we need to.

    6. Sonic Fan J

      Sonic Fan J

Hey @DanJ86, while I unfortunately can't relate with what has caused your breakdowns I can at least say from experience that even if what you have to say is negative, there is value in saying it and getting it off of your chest. It won't solve anything on its own but it is definitely better then leaving it bottled up with no outlet for the energy that is affiliated with it. The fact that you have @tailsBOOM! here though who understands what it's like living on your own while on the spectrum and is willing to help is also a good thing for you.

So, while you may not have anything positive to say, there is knowledge and good that come out of sharing what is eating you up. Of course though just to clarify, I'm not saying dwell on it, but rather talk about so that way it can be examined and the energy attached to it can be alleviated. Otherwise, if that doesn't work you know you can always just ask to shoot the breeze with you about any number of subjects that you would rather talk about that make you happy. SSMB is here kind of for that very purpose and I know a number of us would be glad to lend an ear and our time to help you feel better.

      Lastly, as for the movie, here's a way to look at it if you'd like;
Instead of dwelling on everything wrong with it (easier said than done I know) look at what good it could do. It could if it entertains people put a smile on many a person's face and that is a good thing. It may not be our cup of tea or even somewhat faithful to the source material but it still holds the two-fold purpose of making money and entertaining people and from what I've heard it has at least entertained some people already and that's a good thing. After all, people who have been entertained are more likely to helpful and kind simply by virtue of being in a good mood and that makes the world on a whole a better place for everyone.

Anyway, I'm rambling now but I hope you'll find a rhythm that makes your life comfortable and enjoyable while being sound in the knowledge that you're doing your best for yourself and those you care about. In the meantime us here at SSMB are here to lend an ear, a shoulder, or just be a distraction from life if you need us.

  13. Pretty exhausted. Think I'll go offline to recharge.

  14. My parents have really terrible luck when it comes to cars.

  15. So what's been going on here?

    What the hell???

Just deal with it. At least none of them hacked the website.
