  1. Well, this is good news indeed! It'd be great if we got new interviews with Jason Griffith and Mike Pollack.
  2. I think eventually the designs will change (for the better), though I like the vest Sonic is wearing (from the silhouette). I'm just glad we're finally getting another Sonic cartoon! I've been skimming through this thread so I don't know if anyone posted it yet, but according to the Sonic page on Facebook regarding the cast: "We are pleased and excited that many of the voice actors used in game for Sonic and friends will also be voicing the TV animation."
  3. Today on September 6th, Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog, the first Sonic cartoon made it's premiere on US networks! My opinion the best Sonic cartoon made that blows every other Sonic show out of the water. Wonderful adaptation of the first 2 games, a great combination of action, comedy, and heart, and best of all, the wackiest, nuttiest, screwballiest Sonic I've ever seen! If I had to pick 5 of my favorite episodes from this series, it would be The Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad, Lovesick Sonic, Tails' New Home, Magnificent Sonic, and Sonic Breakout, So a happy 20th anniversary to AOSTH! May it one day come to The Hub. Fell free to discuss! Favorite episodes, moments, memories, anything about the hedeghog's first cartoon.
  4. http://www.tssznews.com/2013/06/15/sega-launching-new-sonic-boom-cartoon/ " Sonic Sez Friendship is Magic This certainly came out of nowhere – a source has tipped us off that Dave Polsky, writer for such TV shows and movies like South Park, Frank TV, Scary Movie, and My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, was dropping hints at the Ohio-based My-Little-Pony-themed convention Trotcon that he was currently writing episodes for a new Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon under the name of “Sonic Boom“. For what it’s worth, Sonic Boom is even listed in his Featured Guests profile on the Trotcon website: Moments ago at his Trotcon Q&A Panel, Polsky revealed more information about “Sonic Boom” – we’re still waiting to see if our source can elaborate more, but early reports indicate that it is a “Pony-esque reboot of the cartoon series”. What, exactly, that means is currently a mystery – Sonic has had no shortage of cartoons over the years, and each one of them involves completely different settings and supporting characters. Any one of them could be rebooted, and it’s worth mentioning that one of Polsky’s contributions to MLP was, apparently, writing music for an episode, so not even Sonic Underground is out of the question at this time. Dave Polsky His credits range from features (Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2) to animation (South Park, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Sonic Boom, Class of 3000) to sitcoms (Pair of Kings) to late night (The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show) to daytime (The Donny and Marie Show) to sketch comedy (Frank TV, Cedric the Entertainer Presents). Add that to the fact that he got his start in game shows (Singled Out) and you have a textbook case of a.) versatility or b.) terrible career management… take your pick. Dave created and executive produced Disney’s The Buzz on Maggie, in addition to writing other pilots for Disney Channel, FOX, CBS, Castle Rock Entertainment, and Nickelodeon. Right now, you know about as much as we do. We’ll have more on this as it develops. UPDATE: Our source has offered more information now that the panel is over regarding “Sonic Boom”. All Polsky would say is that it involves Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose, and would lean towards “comedic in style”, making it sound unconnected to any previous Sonic cartoon." Let me say count me in for this! Though comedy best defines Sonic well to me, I hope story and action plays a part.
  5. My perfect cast: -Jaleel White - Sonic -Kwesi Boakye - Tails -Kath Soucie - Sally -Lisa Ortiz - Amy -Dan Green - Knuckles -Rob Paulsen - Antoine -Nancy Cartwright - Bunnie Rabbot -Rebecca Honig - Cream -Maurice LaMarche - The Oracle -Bobcat Goldthwait - Vector -Dave Willis - Espio -Amy Birnbaum - Charmy -Mike Pollack - Dr. Eggman -Phil Hayes - Scratch -Garry Chalk - Grounder -Ian James Courlett - Coconuts -Charlie Adler - Snivley -Maurice LaMarche - Sleet -Jason Anthony Griffith - Shadow and Jet -Kathleen Delaney - Rogue

  7. It makes sense; Robotnik is in rule with an iron fist and the only one who can stop him is Sonic and The Freedom Fighters. And Robotnik in my idea is the one we know and love (I shouldn't really say that cuz he is a villian after all! ). But yes, his red and black eyes are seen in one scene. The end of my movie idea involves Sonic winning, Robotnik's fortress being destroyed having to start from scratch, and everything going back nice, cheery, and happy.
  8. My ideal Sonic movie: -An origin story; how Sonic became a hero, how he became friends with Tails, enemies with Dr. Robotnik -Setting is Mobius -SATAM is used as the basis for the story -Characters from the games and shows included -Elements from the games (such as Robotnik's Eggmobile) also included -Original cast members (Jaleel White as Sonic, Kath Soucie as Sally, Mike Pollack as Dr. Robotnik) -With the addition of Kwesi Boakye as Tails, Nancy Cartwright as Bunnie Rabbot, and Liam Neeson as Sonic's father (in a vision) -Dr. Robotnik's name in this: Dr. Julian Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik -Characters from the video games/Sonic X use their current design. Sally and Antoine's designs are from SATAM Season 2 with Bunnie Rabbot's design from Season 1 and Rotor 's design from the pilot. -Love Triangle between Sonic, Sally, Amy, and Antoine (Sonic in love with Sally, Amy trying to win Sonic's heart, and Antoine doing the same thing with Sally) -Metal Sonic in this (with one line of dialogue voiced by Ryan Drummond) -Elements/Scenes from Sonic X episodes Chaos Control Freaks and The Dam Scam and the SATAM episode Hooked On Sonics used -Plenty of action, plenty of comedy -Sonic creators Naoto Oshima and Yuji Naka having cameos (they play a character talking Japanese and a character translating for him respectively. If Yuji Naka can't speak English, then next choice would be Sonic level designer Hirokazu Yasuhara) in addition to serving as producers. -Plus cameos by Jason Anthony Griffith, Roger Craig Smith, Martin Burke, Kathleen Barr, and Ian James Courlett as Coconuts. -Traditional 2-D animation done at Film Roman with Eric Goldberg and Bob Jaques as animation directors (there will be 2 animation units) -Animation crew consisting of the best in the animation buisness (featuring animation by Danny Antonucci, John K., and Milton Knight who will also serve as part of the storyboarding department. These 3 under the Bob Jaques unit) -Made and presented in 2.35:1 widescreen (my favorite aspect ratio in film) -Main title theme will be "The Fastest Thing Alive" (either performed by The Noisy Neighbors or a different band) -Distributed by Summit Entertainment
  9. Here are my ideas: Setting: -Mobius, in perfect harmony and Robotnik plans to rule (like the video games and AOSTH) Characters and Cast: Main Characters: -Sonic (voiced by Jaleel White) -Tails (voiced by Kwesi Boayke) -Sally (voiced by Kath Soucie) -Knuckles (voiced by Dan Green) -Amy (voiced by Laura Ortiz) -Bunnie Rabbot (voiced by Nancy Cartwright) -Antoine (voiced by Rob Paulsen) -Cream (voiced by Rebecca Honig) -Dr. Eggman Robotnik (voiced by Mike Pollack) -Snively voiced by Charlie Adler) -Scratch (voiced by Phil Hayes) -Grounder (voiced by Garry Chalk) -SWATBots (voiced by Jim Cummings) Recurring: -The Oracle (voiced by Maurice LaMarche) -Vector (voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait) -Charmy (voiced by Amy Birnbaum) -Espio (voiced by Dave Willis) -Uncle Chuck (voiced by Ed Asner) -Coconuts (voiced by Ian James Courlett) -Sleet (voiced by Maruice LaMarche) -Decoe (voiced by Andrew Rannells) -Bocoe (voiced by Darren Dunstan) -Bokkun (voiced by Andrew Rannells) -Rogue (Nicole Sullivan maybe) -Shadow (voiced by Jason Anthony Griffith) -Jet (voiced by Jason Anthony Griffith) Details: -Additional recurring characters also included from the games -Sonic's personality must be heroic, brave, adventurous, and a bit of a smart alec like he always is, but (and like I said, I've stated this), he should also have the charisma, kindness, charm, hero-likeness of himself, Mickey Mouse and Felix the Cat, the wise guy and smart techniques of Bugs Bunny and AOSTH Sonic, the screwball antiques and craziness of the early Daffy Duck and Woody Woodpecker, and the coolness of the Pink Panther and Friz Freleng's Bugs Bunny. -Tails learns from Sonic like an apprentice. -Storylines with Chaos Emeralds popping up here to there -Featuring the adventure and action of the video games, SATAM, and Sonic X and the comedy and charm of AOSTH -Rated TV-Y7 FV -Guest stars including voice actors/actresses who have been in Sonic video games and shows over the years (Examples: Tim Curry, Roger Craig Smith) -Mobius setting a combination of the video games, AOSTH, and Sonic X -Only animals and creatures as inhabitants of Mobius with the exception of Dr. Robotnik, Snively, and Badniks/robots -Freedom Fighters like in SATAM, except they try to maintain peace and order in Mobius and protect it from Robotnik as opposed to SATAM (where Mobius was ruled by Robotnik) -2-D (non-Flash) Animation ('nuff said). Done by either Rough Draft Studios or Film Roman. -Writers include Bruce and Reed Shelly, John Kricfalusi, Robert Askin, Cindy Morrow, Danny Antonucci, Len Janson, Ted Lewis, Frederick Stroppel, Bob Camp, and Jim Gomez -Directors include Kent Butterworth, Milton Knight, John Kricfalusi, Danny Antonucci, Randy Myers, and Ken Bruce -Infact, the crew consists of the best in the animation biz plus crew members from previous Sonic cartoons -Presented in HD and in 1.78:1 widescreen -Fourth Wall being broken every now and again -This might sound like a bad idea but bear with me, stories from the Sonic games and comics used (like for Sonic X) and some stories re-used from AOSTH and SATAM. -Airing on The Hub with Shout! Factory handling home video distribution

  11. Wanna wish Tails a happy (belated) 20th anniversary! Though I'm sure it was November 21st since that's when the 16-bit version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 was released. (24th for the US). Anyway, let's not forget that Tails has significance just as much as Sonic. He's a great pilot, a great genius, and not just a great sidekick for Sonic, but a great friend and brother for Sonic.
  12. Shadow the Hedgehog, because whoever heard of a Sonic character using a gun?! Without the gun, yeah, it be much like a Sonic game except with Shadow in his place, but come on; Shadow has no need for a gun. If it was decided he use a laser blaster in some levels, kooky but OK, but a gun is not needed in a Sonic game... ever!

  14. Like it or not (I pick the former), Sonic X comes to Vortexx October 6th: http://www.nickandmore.com/2012/09/28/vortexx-adds-sonic-x-starting-october-6/ I honestly don't see what the big deal is with Sonic X. Truthfully, I watch just the English dub so I wouldn't know!
