  1. Yup! Every one! XD I actually have all of my games in either container bins (The N64 and Sega Genesis games) and then all my other games are neatly placed in my bookshelves in my room. So whenever I feel like playing a certain game I just slip out the box from the bookshelf and give it a play. I'm very neat and careful when it comes to my games, consoles, and controllers. Right now in my room I have my Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, N64, Nintendo Wii, and my Xbox 360 all hooked up to my TV at once using this special box that allows me to plug in multiple things to my TV. Lately though it's going to become harder to get every single Sonic game due to so many new game systems and them being extremely expensive such as the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. But I'm gonna try my best. I love playing the games too much. <3
  2. This is a hard topic due to the fact that every game had a different unique music style and feel than the others. Some of my personal favorites are Sonic CD Jap / Euro Soundtrack, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, and Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.
  3. I'm very happy with Sonic's current design and I would honestly be upset if they changed and redesigned him. Modern Sonic's design is the most consistent of all the designs he's gone through whether they were official 2D artwork or 3D Models and it's the most refined design style. All of the other character's current designs are fine to me too and are merely more refined than their models and 2D artwork a couple of years ago. My second favorite is probably the Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 official artwork for all the characters. I don't know what it is but I just love the way their drawn and stylized. And my 3rd and other personal favorite is Oshima's classic Sonic style. The official 2D artwork for Sonic 3 and Knuckles and Sonic The Screen Saver are my favorite classic designs of all the characters.
  4. I'm very happy that the site has been revived. I was greatly saddened to hear it was shut down because it along with Secrets of Sonic Team were my two favorite Sonic The Hedgehog fan sites. I seem to have a bad issue with procrastination because I was always too lazy to download the Sonic music when I had the chance. Now this time around I'm going to step right on it! XD
  5. There's only seven Chaos Emeralds. I think similarly to DBZ the emeralds spread out across the world after Sonic uses them which is why in each new Adventure they have to continuously relocate them. Yuji Naka was a huge DBZ fan and Super Sonic and the seven chaos emeralds were greatly inspired off of that Anime. I think in Adventure 1 and in several other games throughout the characters conversations they refer to the emeralds as being the only set of seven that they know of. There's never been an instance in the games where they make it sound like there could be more than that. I'd take the Archie comics with a grain of salt when it comes to the Chaos Emeralds only because the Archie comics, and any other comics for that matter are not canon to the game Universe and are a completely separate entity.
  6. I honestly feel the most powerful characters in the Sonic Franchise is Sonic himself the protagonist of the series, Shadow, and Metal Sonic. Shadow is incredibly powerful without his inhibitor rings on and Metal Sonic is incredibly dangerous. It wouldn't be hard for Metal to destroy and take over everything.
  7. I personally always loved how Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Eggman were portrayed in Sonic Unleashed. I thought they had the characterization and personalities down perfectly. In Unleashed Sonic's a selfless, cocky and overconfident hero who's cockiness got to the better of him when Eggman finally had an upper hand. He's a very caring friend towards Chip and felt bad for possibly being the one to cause his Amnesia and offers to help him out. When Chip does find out who he is he decides to take on Dark Gaia on his own and Sonic stops him. When Chip tells him Sonic doesn't have to be involved anymore and has no reason to be Sonic tells him "Do I need a reason to want to help a friend?" You can also see the pure enjoyment on Sonic's face in the opening movie when he's infiltrating Eggman's base and destroying robots. You can see how much he genuinely enjoys adventure and his little game of cat and mouse with Eggman. Throughout the game Sonic shows that he's still cocky and at times arrogant but he also shows that he's selfless, caring, and a good friend and always puts others before himself. When Dark Gaia weakened him by taking away his Werehog form his main concern was Chip's safety and was telling him to run away. That's probably one of my favorite cutscenes in the game besides the opening movie to be honest. Sonic also shows that he cares for Amy as a friend (and maybe even a little bit more) and cares about what she think's of him. When you talk to random people throughout the game you can see Sonic still makes good natured jokes and harmless teases here and there and he's always confident in whatever task he decides to take on. Amy has always been portrayed as sort of an air head, Sonic obsessed, fan girl which always bothered me since she's my second favorite character next to Sonic. In Unleashed she shows that even though she's in love with Sonic she still cares about him genuinely as a friend and as a person. She tells him that "He's still her Sonic" reassuring Sonic that it doesn't matter how he looks to her. She's still excitable and bubbly and doesn't hesitate to ask Sonic out on a date when the opportunity arises. When Sonic saves her and runs away before she could really say anything to him she asks Professor Pickle to tell her everything he knows because she's genuinely curious and probably even concerned with what's going on with Sonic. The best portrayal of her character in this game though is when Sonic is fighting Dark Gaia and everyone feels all is lost even Professor Pickle. Amy tells him straight up with a straight face and utmost confidence that "Sonic won't let that happen" and she has her full faith in him as a person and in his abilities. Even when all seems lost she never loses her faith in him and I just loved that. She was also well portrayed in other games like Adventure 1 when she feels the need to become more independent and was more concerned for the little Flicky she found than Sonic. Also when Amy protects Sonic from Silver in Sonic 06 is another admirable trait to Amy Rose. Eggman was serious business but still the goofy, lack of common sense villain we all know and love in Unleashed. Even towards the end of the game when Sonic's fighting against EggDragoon even Sonic's like "Whoa, Eggman calm down!" or something like that throughout the fight because Eggman was so adamant about destroying him at that point. Eggman despite having an I.Q of 300 has moments where he lacks common sense which Orbot doesn't resist pointing out. Like when Eggman sent Sonic out into space falling towards earth with the seven Chaos Emeralds. Eggman quickly tries to rectify this by saying it would've been too easy otherwise. I personally loved Eggman's portrayal in Sonic Unleashed. What I don't like in the latest games such as Colors and Generations is how Sonic is sort of an arrogant air head who was often found talking to dead robots he destroyed and cracking jokes. Amy went back to being the air headed, fan girl who seems to have no personality again flushing all the good characterization traits seen in Unleashed, 06, and Adventure 1 down the toilet. Eggman for the most part seems the same except maybe a little bit more goofy and less serious than he was in Unleashed. I just don't like Sonic's current characterization in the games. He's too much of a dork and a goof ball now and I really hope that in the next Sonic game he and the other characters will have more characterization and personality similar to Unleashed again.
  8. I got into Sonic at a very young age. I was probably three or four years old and we got Sega Genesis for Christmas and it came with Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Streets of Rage 2. I instantly fell in love with Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and played it for hours everyday. The funny thing is the Sega Genesis was actually my older sister's Christmas gift but she was never really into video games. I guess you can say that this is how I became a video game lover and a Sonic lover. Then I always watched "Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog" (AOSTH) and "Satam" every morning before school. I remember I would even cry and get upset if I woke up late and missed an episode. At the time I didn't own any of the other Sonic games yet and we were gold members at the local Blockbuster so my mother would always rent Sonic 1 and Sonic 3 for me on a daily basis as well as Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 3D Blast. She also would rent the VHS tapes of the AOSTH and Satam cartoons for me. I loved Sonic so much as a little girl that my mom got me a really rare Sonic plushie for my fifth birthday and I took that thing with me everywhere. I took it to school with me everyday and slept with it every night. I still have him along with several other Sonic plushies, a 1992 Sonic bank, and some Sonic figures. Then when Blockbuster was getting rid of their Sega Genesis games to fill up the isles with N64, Saturn, and Playstation 1 games I got lucky because we were friends with the workers and owners of the store. They literally took all of their Sega Genesis games and put them in a box for me and gave them to me for free. So that's how I got to own all the Genesis Sonic games as well as other great games. Then of course the 3D Sonic games came out like Adventure 1 and 2 which I also loved. It's really all history from there. I own every single Sonic game for every console and I'm just as obsessed with Sonic now as I was when I was a little girl. XD I honestly don't think I'll ever stop loving that cobalt hedgehog or grow out of him. I would share him with my children when I have them and pass the legacy of Sonic The Hedgehog on lol. I already got my little niece who's eight into Sonic and I'm proud of it.
  9. I'm sorry if this is considered a bump because of lack of activity in this thread but I just wanted to ask if anyone still has the Dengeki DS Manga's? I'm extremely sad because I was late finding this thread and Megaupload is gone and so all the download links are broken. I tried to find the Manga elsewhere on the net and came up empty handed. I unfortunately never got any of the Manga's on this list. :'( If anybody still has them and are willing to send them to me it'll be greatly appreciated. I don't know if these will be re-uploaded on Mediafire still or when so it'll mean a lot to me if someone could lead me in the right direction. The Dengeki Manga, Dash and Spin, and Shogakukan 1992 Nikki Manga's are my favorite Sonic Manga. I get so much enjoyment from reading them and I love all the characters and art styles. Ever since I was little I always wanted a Sonic comic / Manga more like the games and Dengeki is as close to the games as we can get. I wish these weren't so rare and hard to find. I also wish they would condense these into volumes and release them. I honestly enjoy these Manga more than Archie / Fleetway comics. I like them so much I wouldn't mind buying them but I don't know much about how to buy them or where or even if you can still purchase older magazine publishing's? P.S - If anybody also has the Sonic The Hedgehog 1 (1991) Manga or the Shogakukan Nikki Manga's or the ones from the Portal Sonic site that went down it'll literally mean the world to me if you sent them my way. I seem to have terrible luck when it comes to Sonic Manga and I never got to save those before the site went down without warning almost three years ago.
  10. I'd like to see a lot of Sonic's friends make some comebacks. I wanna see what Sega can do with Silver nowadays. He hasn't really had a strong role in any Sonic game since 06 and I'd like to see what they could do with his character and personality in a future Sonic game that's more focused on storyline. I can see Silver as being sorta like a time cop similar to how Trunks was in DBZ going back and forth through time to the past and future. I wanna see Tails make a comeback actually. He's always on the sidelines and hasn't really had a lot of air time lately except for in Generations which was a light hearted story and in Unleashed where his spotlight was overshadowed by Chip. Ever since he's become independent in Adventure 1 and 2 he hasn't been as active as he used to be in the Classics when he was the cute little fox that followed Sonic around everywhere and idolized him. I know Sega can do great things with Tails so I'd like to see that in the future. Same goes to Knuckles who went from a super badass rival back in 1994 to a not as badass character that's not really a rival anymore and just Sonic's friend. They also made him go from a trickster and cunning to sort of dumb as rocks. There's so much you can do with Knuckles character personality wise and plot wise. I wanna see Sega do something cool with him again and I like him being Sonic's friend but they should keep it at a friendly rivalry instead of just "Bros" like it's been as of late. The "Bros" thing is reserved for Sonic and Tails relationship. I wanna see Orbot and Cubot again from Sonic Unleashed and Colors. They were awesome enough said. XD I'd love to see Emerl and Gmerl again but I don't think we will ever see Emerl again since Gmerl is the newer model built from Emerl himself. Since Gmerl is a peaceful robot now I think the only times we would see him is hanging around with Cream and Vanilla. I mean I guess he can assist the Sonic Team if he wanted to if Cream was involved with whatever they were doing but beyond that I don't know what Sega can do with him aside cameos. I know you said no yesteryear characters but Fang I think was the coolest and had the most going on out of all the forgotten characters. He's like a male version of Rouge in a way. I can see him as a bounty hunter being paid big bucks to try and get Sonic especially paid by Eggman. He's greedy and into obtaining money and treasure (like Rouge) has a gun *shot* lol. Hell he's the first Sonic character to actually have a gun believe it or not, not Shadow. But Sega had to censor the idea and changed it to a pop gun. We haven't seen much of Shadow lately and any character development from him since 06 and I'd like to see how he's been doing after letting go of the past and all. I like seeing him working with Rouge and G.U.N on missions.
  11. I strongly believe this is a prototype badnik of Pata-Bata the butterfly from Sonic CD seen in Palmtree Panic Zone. I've been studying this picture for the past hour and a half and playing around with it in Photoshop CS4 and Paint Tool Sai and tracing it to the best of my ability and redrawing it. When I did it came out almost exactly like Pata-Bata with slight differences or minor upgrades. To the left is the original Beta badnik picture in question, the center is my tracing / drawing of that picture colored and to the far right is the official Pata-Bata artwork in Sonic CD's manual. The only difference with my drawing is I colored him pink instead of blue as he appears in the picture. I circled the similarities between the official Sonic CD picture and the Beta badnik's image with colors, sorry its a bit sloppy and for my bad hand writing. >.< They both have huge bug eyes, both have a long straight body, both have yellow wings however the differences are the wings are much narrower and skinnier than the original Pata-Bata's. But remember that all the badniks in Colours and Generations received slight changes and upgrades compared to their original Genesis look. Another physical change is they seemed to of given Pata-Bata some legs, you can physically see two legs connecting from the bottom of his body, the crescent moon shape is his foot and you can see the other next to it on the left. Also if you look close enough you can see an antennae and also a bulge where the mouth would be but its hard to see in this quality. This is a compilation of all the different Buzzers and Buzzbombers from different games and their changes and redesigns over time. Next to them is the Beta picture and my tracing of it along with the official Pata-Bata picture. This is to show how different this image looks compared to a Buzzbomber or Buzzer. Both different variants of the Buzzbombers in Colours and the ones seen in Generations have no legs, Buzzers and Buzzbombers never had legs since the very beginning. Their bodies curve down to shoot at Sonic with their rear area which is meant to represent a real bee's stinger. When I look at the Buzzbombers and the Beta image as hard as I can I just cannot see any resemblance at all. They don't look anything alike to me and I just cannot see how one can mistake it as a Buzzbomber or Buzzer I'm sorry. :/ *scratches head* If only we had a better quality image to work off of. This is just a simple circle and comparison of the mouth and antennae area on the official and the Beta image. If you look really closely you can see a antennae on the Beta badnik. It's small and you can only see one because of the quality and the angle its in. You can also see a bulge where the mouth is if you look hard enough just like the Pata-Bata. Original image slightly enlarged. My tracing / drawing of the original image enlarged. I hope this helps everyone a little bit and I'm sorry for the image spam.
  12. I'm perfectly fine with the canon ages of all the Sonic characters and I'm happy Sega provides us with a actual age to go by, it helps you get a better understanding of a characters personality and actions as others have already mentioned with examples. I've always thought of Sonic as a teenager because of him being referred to as a teenager in AOSTH and also when first playing Adventure 1 and 2 he really acts like your typical 15 year old boy. Ryan Drummond's voice for Sonic fit for the age in my opinion making him sound like a 15 year old. Sonic's other voices even Junichi san do make him sound like he can be older, but I was always under the impression of your average teenager. I'm actually really happy they changed the ages from their Classic counterparts. In the Classic era Sonic was 16 instead of 15 and what Sega did was switch Knuckles and Sonic's ages making Sonic 15 and Knuckles 16. I think that fits better for some reason and find it more appealing. I'm so glad Amy's age was changed from 8 years old to 12. Even though 12 still seems a bit young its miles better than 8 years old really making Sonic look like a pedohog. I am really fine with the current canon ages and think they suit the characters personalities and mannerisms quite well. The only thing I have a problem with is them remaining the same ages for eternity. I wanna see some aging process throughout the games. Like a year or two after Sonic Unleashed Sonic goes on a different adventure and is older like 17 or 18. I hate it in various Anime's or other Media where they keep characters the same age forever or time just never seems to pass by in the storyline. I love seeing character development and growth in my stories and get a lot out of seeing a character grow up. DBZ for example, you start with Goku as a young kid and the series went on till he was at least in his 40's. You got to see so much character development between him and all the other characters and have fond memories of them when they were younger and how they've changed over time within the story. It gives you a strong sense of connection with the characters and in a way you feel like you've experienced things with them or have known them yourself for years. It also adds more reality to the story and sense of time. I mean they don't have to age them quickly in the Sonic Franchise but making them older over time wouldn't hurt and can show the characters growing up and changing over time. I doubt Sega will ever change their ages unless it was many years past and they felt the need to do so for whatever reason like they did with changing the Classic ages to the Modern ones. Sonic was designed as a type of timeless character that can go on through life times like Felix the Cat and Mickey Mouse. But especially in a Sonic Comic or Cartoon setting it would be nice to see a sense of time passing and them aging and growing and maturing over time. I also would have liked it if Eggman got to know his grandfather personally but it would make him seem way to old, he looks like a young middle aged man between his 30's and 40's. I can't see him being 50 or older, he has no grey hairs, his hair is fully colored orange brown, his skin is smooth and non rinklely. He doesn't fit the 50 or older look to me especially his Classic design like in the Sonic OVA.
  13. I think Sega have been listening to fan feedback but I also agree they should be careful as to what feedback they are reading, if its meaningful and useful feedback or constructive criticism I think it personally helps them improve the games or gameplay styles. Feedback that mostly consists of crying and whining for particular things such as CLASSICS AGAIN! or NO MORE FRIENDS! that's gonna mess them up a bit. It's true Sonic fans really don't know what they want and there's just to many broken groups of fans who like different particular things. Personally for me I absolutely love the Unleashed gameplay and am so happy to see it return in Colours and in Generations and hope it see it more defined and open in future installments. I also felt they balanced Unleashed's story out, it had dark serious moments but also a lot of funny and light hearted moments as well. I felt it had a nice in between of the two. Sonic 4 was indeed a major failure and it was all created because of fan demand, Generations on the other hand I see a lot of time and love put into. It really looks and feels like Sega put in all they can in that game adding so many little details or cameos for everyone to enjoy. They made a nice balance between Modern and Classic style not only for gameplay style but in artistic style as well. Such as the realism of City Escape to the surrealism of Green Hill Zone. They listened to fan feedback for this game but it seems they utilized the good feedback for the most part. Colours was a very fun game, the only issues I had with it is to light of a story and to much 2D segments. I am more fond of the more 3D segments found in the Unleashed gameplay. But I do believe Sega are trying and putting a lot of heart into the recent games, and do feel they are listening to fans feedback which is a good thing its just they need to do it in moderation and consider what may be good and what may be bad for the Franchise.
