  1. More likely, he'll just be told that he can't do it. Also I get that Penders is a (massive) twat, and also possibly insane, but do you guys really hate him so much that you wanna see him suffer like that? Geez. Back on topic, someone really dropped the ball here. There's still a lot that needs to be answered, and I'm hoping now that the series is officially canned we'll start hearing more of the story.
  2. I'm gonna miss Miiverse, man.

      Me, too.

  3. Okay, of these series: Metroid is getting two games in the span of one year, Mother is a personal project by Itoi, who is primarily a writer and doesn't really want to make another one, and StarTropics is a relatively obscure series with few entries that didn't even get released in Japan-- I'm honestly kind of shocked you brought it up. Like, really? If we're gonna play that game, why are we overlooking all of SEGA's untouched IPs? Where's Space Harrier? Space Channel 5? Skies of Arcadia? Jet Set Radio? Billy Hatcher? Daytona? Golden Axe? Sea Man? House of the Dead? SEGA Bass Fishing? Do I sound dumb yet?
  4. I'm struggling to think of what they could realistically do to accomplish this.
  5. gradually starting to hate overwatch

      You're playing comp aren't you

Ha, I'm actually not playing comp. I'm getting tired of the shit balance, the meta teams, feeling like I need to switch to make other people happy, and just general frustration.

Matches are starting to bleed together for me. I probably need a break, but the game has so many little design decisions that I'm really not a fan of, and the community is probably the worst of any online game I've played.

Yeah, players online can be pretty trash but that's just most games. I actually think this is one of the most balanced games I've ever played though. There are only like... 1 characters that I would consider useless at the moment (Reaper) but the rest are totally viable in most cases. You shouldn't feel like you have to change characters just to make people happy. Especially in QP.

Though, then again I don't play nearly as many hours of it as I use to (use to put in a good 10 or so hours at least in a week but now its more around 2) so maybe I'm just being to lax on this front.

  6. The first season of the Castlevania mini-series was dope, and I recommend it to anyone who likes those games.

Cool. The last recent castlevania game was lords of shadow.

The last castlevania game I recently played was castlvainia 3

  7. Who's gonna be more popular?! Is It gonna be Marina, or Forehead Magoo? Time will tell.

    it's marina

  8. these squid lads still freak me out a little bit

  9. Sweet, I'm only in my mid-twenties. I've got another decade left in me, guys.

I love how Sonic's arms are made out of rings and bumpers. I think that's really clever :)

Py bun on tumblr makes some pretty impressive stuff in Source Filmmaker.

  12. for the longest time I forgot my age and thought I was a year older than I was.

that means it's all over right

  13. Utopia's nice and all, but I'm not convinced that it's the right starting point for a real, level-based platformer in its current state. Rolling around and launching yourself off of ramps is undeniably fun, and I think 3D Sonic should try and adapt that aspect of the classic games, but Sonic feels too loose to do actual, accurate platforming, and I've got questions about how the level design is going to proceed from here. What are the main challenges going to be? How can enemies be made legitimately threatening? Will there be bottomless pits? Making a fun proof-of-concept is one thing, but leaving that stage behind and making a compelling game is another. I'm not trying to sound down on Utopia, because I do like it, but it feels a little early to put it on a pedestal.
  14. I want to see more fantasy games use brass + woodwind in their music. The 1978 Lord of the Rings soundtrack, for example, was amazing. I want to play a game that sounds like this.

  15. Probably to emphasize that they're a customizable character, and don't have a defined look.
  16. It's 2017, and even Mario's cheesy, ridiculous vocal songs are better than Sonic's.

      Hold your fucking tongue, sir.

Why am I getting vibes from that Billy and Mandy episode?

  18. Switch version looks like it might be 30fps, but I'm not seeing any other obvious visual downgrades, so that's something. Lower resolution screen probably helps. It's looking pretty nice.
  19. I'm kinda surprised so many people were put off by the conference. It was a little dull, but not bad IMO. Spider-Man was the highlight. God of War could be good, but it's such a departure from the previous games that I'm pretty cautious about it. Most of the other games didn't interest me but they at least seemed well-made. I liked that they focused on announcements so much- they could've spent 15 minutes talking about their brand, but they didn't. Maybe my expectations were just low.
  20. It's fair to take things with a grain of salt, and I agree that we should wait and see before treating it as fact, but I'd hardly call it baseless when it's being corroborated by people who leaked info on this game before. No, that isn't proof of anything, but hand-waving it like it's some random 4chan rumor doesn't really seem right either.
  21. It's the 11th? That's earlier than I thought. But I'm totally ready. Current rumor floating around that they're making another RPG called "Starfield." I wouldn't put too much stock in it, but it's fun to speculate.
  22. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think this has to do with the footage here being 30fps. Sonic Mania normally runs at 60fps, so when the footage is presented like this, half of the frames get cut, and you're not always seeing it flicker between the "solid blue ball" sprite and the normal spinning sprites. You can sometimes see this in 30fps footage of other games. Like in this old Game Grumps clip (it's the best example I could find). Shadow takes damage, and is supposed to flicker in and out during his invincibility frames, but appears completely solid because the frames where he's "out" weren't captured. Then the exact opposite happens when it switches to the results screen, and he's completely invisible for a few seconds before reappearing.
