  1. Noticed I've been watching a lot of Renegade Cut the past two or three days.

  2. Love Sonic?

    Good for you mate.

  3. So apparently the key to getting Sterling to turn up on a mystery island is by blasting medieval Toxicity while visiting the island.

    I'm not complaining.

  4. The older I get, the more I appreciate the idea of ignoring canon you don't like and doing your own thing (even though I'm still a canon stickler).

Everything is canon. Which is another way of saying nothing is.

    2. Strickerx5

Yeah, it's something I came to terms with about a year back.

You gotta apply to canon when discussing story content. Understanding and recognizing the difference is important. But outside of that situation, it's free game imo.

In my mind, characters like the freedom fighters exist in the game universe. This ain't real life, it's entertainment. If pretending something is or isn't a thing in a fictional universe helps me enjoy that thing more, I'm gonna do it.

  5. What was DiC's issue with making themes for the Mario cartoons?

With Sonic, you got two rock-pop themes (which goes hand-in-hand with the games) and one which was out there with its use of public domain music but was also the only one to sample a theme from the games and play it as an instrumental jingle, as it's known.

Meanwhile Mario got a rap theme, a reggae theme and...barely a theme as it was mostly a summary of the cartoon's story. Weird.

  7. Pokemon DLC spoiler discussion

why does the final boss look like daisy on a day off

  8. I think a lightning bolt just hit the ground nearby outside, it shook the fucking ground and I'm upstairs in my bedroom.

  9. Actually, to follow on from my LEGO and Goku status from the other day, having Monkie Kid means that LEGO have at least four Goku VAs on active projects. Neat.

  10. Nintendo's so keen on their durability systems lately, I half-expect the next Pokemon games to make you need to craft fishing rods.

If they insist on taking away what made BOTW unique, don't expect people to be as welcoming of BOTW 2 if it boasts more of the same.

At this rate, Kirby copy abilities will have limited usage before needing to eat another enemy to use it again.

  11. *LEGO gets Sean Schemmel to play Sun Wukong*

Way to play with strengths I guess.

  12. I think I might need to sell some oranges soon, I have 1162 just lying on the ground.

Dear god, you're a walking maths textbook question.

  13. Hey, the television channel dad was watching had a Rik Astley song playing, and it wasn't that one.

  14. Ian Flynn, years ago: Regina and the Iron King being an actual romantic item would be too weird because of the implications, their marriage is just a political arrangement.

LEGO: The Demon Bull King and Princess Iron Fan made love and have a son.

    1. Teoskaven

...i think i need some context on this one.

Okay, so for the first bit, the Archie comic had the Iron King and Regina Ferrum. On Ian's run, he made it clear that their "relationship" was that of a political one because he didn't like the further implications of them being a proper couple.

For the second bit, LEGO has a show coming out called Monkie Kid, heavily inspired by Journey to the West. Not only do the equivalent characters to the Archie one exist (and are still a human and a bull), they still have a relationship and they also have a son called Red Son.

If i have to hazard a guess, considering how... creative the deeper parts of the Sonic fandom tend to be, Ian didn't wanted to give much official material to exploit.

You act like that even stopped the fans back then @Teoskaven.

    5. Teoskaven

True, but with this there's less factor on blaming the thing on the creator.

      Oh GOD NO.

  16. Oh boy, just tallied up what I'll be spending on LEGO on June 1st. Just north of £350, eek. Good thing I've spent next to nothing before due to circumstances.

  17. "Ubisoft COULD be teasing the return of the Scott Pilgrim game"? I mean they could but that sort of vagueness is asking for trouble, IGN.

    1. Thigolf

I mean should they write "They are" and then create an even bigger outcry if it's not happening?

I legit don't understand what's wrong with them being vague.

  18. I didn't realise Scoob was supposed to come out tomorrow.

  19. I really do not like the smell of lightning.

    1. neezTHEhuman

i like it, I believe it's the smell of Ozone and you can almost always get a whiff of it around electric railways.

  20. Damn, traditional Japanese/funk instrumental Unknown From M.E. be lit.

    go puppy go

  22. I have the fan on and the windows open and it's 1:30am and it's too hot I hate it.

  23. My days are so weird right now. I wake up at 7 or 8am to be at work (downstair) the next hour. I go through a bunch of WARs while I have Youtube on or do stuff in Animal Crossing simultaneously. And then when I finish work for the day I usually have to nap for an hour because I'm sensitive to the heat.

What kind of desk work do you do, out of curiosity?

Clearly not something you can be furloughed for?

    2. Your Vest Friend

      Your Vest Friend

It's basically background processing stuff. On the monotonous side but still important work.

And there's no furlough involved right now, they sent me a whole PC on loan to do this work.

The thing is that I get it in batches, and there's some time between sending off the batch I've just done and receiving the next batch, so the Animal Crossing slots in there.

  24. My dog is so fussy she'll peel the skin off chicken meat to save until last...

  25. I might actually use chuj in my vocab from now on, it's fun.
