  1. This is why everybody needs to subscribe and click the bell on my YouTube channel =p But to address the topic. It's not just powers and skills, there's also some personality traits, like apparently Sonic is a keen reader, whilst we rarely see this in the games, in the wider official media we certainly do see it. What I think happens is that... As time passes by, some people at Sega who don't directly work on the games, know and have seen that certain characters have certain powers and abilities as well as traits, they still believe these are active today, so when they get quizzed on 'how should Sonic be' they say "Well there's this... this and a this..." not knowing it's been retconned or just no longer used. Would explain a lot of the dialogue that the statue at Tokyo Joypolis says.
  2. It's also looking a lot more like that leaked plot was accurate. Connor is dead =/
  3. So that new Sonic Monopoly.

I accidentally improved the images and you can now see the entire board clearly.

    Check the topic

  4. So... I wasn't going to post my vid here but I accidentally improved the board image and you can clearly see the enitre board! I too struggled to see the entire board. For some reason zooming in via a web browser or even image tools blurs the image and its hard to make out even the bottom of the board... However... for some reason. After I rendered the vid, the sections where I zoom in is by using the pan tool on my video editor, and after rendering I realised thid had not reduced the image quality! So you can now clearly make out all the zones and even the boss cards!

  6. The fanbase is still pretty large. But people just don't use forums or the old methods of hanging out anymore. It's all discord servers, specialist Facebook groups and reddit these days.
  7. I'm pretty sure that whatever it is falls under Sega Europes umbrella. Mainly because all the Sega Europe social media types have been tweeting about it all afternoon.

  9. Sonic: The Shadow World | The 2005 Undeveloped Pitch

Seems like it this would've been the canon version of Sonic.EXE. I would've done a mechanic where Sonic can jump between Sonic World and Shadow World in the same level similar to an Ordinary Sonic Hack. I do feel ShTH did enough to fulfill stepping into the edgy and scary origins of Shadow making this a tad redundant, let alone be labeled with Sonic becoming too serious and Shadow focused in that period of time.

And there's no need to worry about making Shadow's lore consistent when we have Blaze and Eggman Nega.

  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkenRXh1odg So the guy who reveled a screen from the cancelled PSP game Sonic Origins has revealed details surrounding another cancelled Sonic PSP title called Sonic: The Shadow World. The game never made it past pitch state. But from what we get from the pitch is that the game was pitched by Climax and described the game as being the polar opposite to what is normally found in a Sonic game. The plot is that Sonic becomes trapped in the Shadow World (which is home to Sonic' nemesis Shadow (yes THAT Shadow)) and must escape. Instead of lush green tropical lands, lava and dead trees would surround the player. Sonic would battle creatures not badniks. Multiple modes planned. Shadow & Sonic playable.

Hey, at least Rockstar is upfront that it's gambling, unlike EA and their "surprise mechanics". Still scummy as a hell though.

  13. Just over a week ago I uploaded a video about the history of Sega World London, (see here) It contained a bunch of new information about the park including some newly discovered old footage from inside and even some of the advertisements for the park in some of the underground tube stations. The video has been passed around quite a lot and it's triggered a few people to come out and share some new information including one amazingly cool find.. There has always been a question as to what happened to the giant Sonic statues that were scattered around the park, one of them is now with Sega Amusements and has since been repainted. But the others have always been a bit of a mystery. Well... the most iconic of the statues, the one with Sonic balancing a globe on his finger has been found! I don't have permission to say who the owners are, but apparently it's been with this company since the park closed and the statue was removed, just sitting in an office back room all this time. Obviously Sonic is currently doing his paperwork of playing a very good game of hide and seek which is why there's not a better image. But that's another statue off the list! The Sega World London Globe statue has been found and is living a happy life doing paperwork!

I can't belive Sonic was buried alive

  15. Really surprised he's back! It'll only be a cameo but still really surprised they both asked and he agreed.
  16. I did the whole story mode as Sonic. But online. Zavok and Blaze. Zavok is just stupidly over powered. Blaze however has the best looking car, best voice actress, amazing handling and speed on the car. And she's a cat!
  17. So if you're feeling brave... When I was researching for that video... I looked at a lot of games which have had Tails in since Generations and I have noticed that they're trying to change a lot of the mainline cast to be more supportive and not just be a Sonic in another colour. I can't remember everything I said in that video since it's getting on for a year old now, but from what I remember when I looked into his character. When you look at what was going on in Sonic Adventure, they clearly portrayed him as a character who was trying to step out of his best friends shadow and stand on his own. Which was fine. A lot of games and secondary media until them had portrayed him as that. Now SA2 is an odd one, because the big belief is that originally he wasn't to be in that game (or at the least not very much at all), but it's kinda a continuation of what happens in Adventure, then we get the moment at the end of the game when he thinks Sonic has died and battles Eggman that a lot of his fans think is amazing. The problems start in Heroes, both Tails and Knuckles start to become on par with Sonic in terms of their abilities in, they're also on par with Sonic now... but have all their additional benefits, like Tails being an inventor and computer programmer. The example in the video I give... Imagine there's a scenario where Eggman attacks in an airship, and Tails is around with his plane... If you think how he was post Heroes and Pre-Generations, there's the question of "Why are we waiting for Sonic? When Tails can easily handle this?" And this goes on for several games, then around the time Generations comes out, stuff starts to change for all the characters, but with Tails specifically things seem more drastic. Tails seems more towards the technical support and tactician rather than the go to hero. For me at least that's fine. I know a lot of people dislike Tails in Sonic Lost World, but... I actually think his portrayal in that game is really good. Aside from the one or two howlers, Tails is always active in the support role here, he's using his abilities to benefit the mission, even when he's captured he uses his abilities to try and escape. Now with Forces.... That game is a mess, for me it feels like they tried and then dropped an angle for the character but didn't try to re-write it. But in the initial opening section, there is still a hint of the positive aspects they've tried to do with him and you even see Sonic gesture to Tails to not get involved in the battle. Tails was really to get involved but Sonic said no. The issues come afterwards, it can be explained with what's in there, but... Forces is a mess.

  19. There's a piece of software called TurnItIn which is used by almost every college and University worth their salt. It can spot this kind of plagiarism a mile off. And I know this to be true because aside from running my own papers, disserations, reports and even computer code through it... Paying for an essay from these places is a bad idea since the irony is, the more they do, the more likely the plagiarism software can and will detect it. But out of curiosity. What's are the papers on? Might as well try and salvage something constructive from all this.
  20. So for those who said earlier that TSR had been discounted this week which shows... something...

Turns out this is a deliberate temporary price cut promotion for Sonic's 28th birthday.

      Thigolf

      I'm aware.

It's just that a game usually doesn't drop in price to 75% that quickly, even in a franchise sale. Most of the time, it's more like "Here's our latest entry, have a nice little 10% off to maybe make you bite", not "Our game's been out for only a month and the already budget game dropped down a quarter in price"

Blimey this is awful. It's unofficial and not claiming to be anything more, but I think SEGA should shut this down. It's shoddy.

It gets worse! I've added more tweets... The book is using stolen fan and official art.

Every page is ripped off from various fan site articles and wikipedia pages.

Not spotted anything from Retro yet but the sonic fandom wiki has definitely been plagiarised.

So it looks like there was another Sega Roadshow which nobody knew existed.

  23. So urm... It looks like there might have been another roadshow. Does... anyone know anything about this one?
  24. Wow this is quite misleading for all concerned. Here is the original interview which is over a month old. https://www.4gamer.net/games/421/G042175/20190415016/ You will notice it's actually a rather excellent interview about Team Sonic Racing... Not Sonic in general. E-Sports is brought up completely at random as part of the final throw away questions that most interviews do. I'm almost certain they asked that because TSR has been described as being a potential e-sports title, even I said so in virtually all my previews and reviews on it. Iizuka responds by saying 'no it's not going to happen' but is open to it. It's a way to say no without being rude or completely ruling out an idea.
