Skull Leader got a reaction from All Might The Armadillo in Who is your favorite Sonic character?
    Amy and Eggman.
They're the two characters that I like the best from their respective sides of the moral spectrum. They also amuse me and feel they're the most credible and complex.

Ken Penders: *talks about the sexual lives of fictional character from a franchise whose main target are young kids in an attempt to copy J.K. Rowling*
Like Detective Kaito said, he never ceases to impress... in a bad but still amusing way. I'm actually wondering what will he say next time. XD

Not that he alterers them that much. I mean, his masterpiece graphic novel (that will be released a few million years later) for which he fought in court features what is essentially Knuckles with the OVA hat:

A beloved character from the Sonic franchise.

Pen Kenders like totally over 9000% original, doughnut steel character: The Praetorian.
That guy has some nerve to be talking about copyright when he himself is such a scumbag who weasels his way out. Only reason he does not get sued is because he is not making any money out of it (yet) and because it's not worth it (Sega's lawyer would have to take his car out of the garage to make room for whatever is seized from Penders as compensation... tha poor car). Unlike him, Sega knows that whatever Kenny boi decides to do is so small and irrelevant that there is no way his work can have any impact on how people perceive the franchise nor cause any brand confusion.

Baron, mah good old chap, don't you mean FOUR robotic Sonics?
Remember that there is more than one Sonic 2.

Anyway, I laugh at how Kenny boy resents Ian Flynn, which is funny since the way each of them handled Knuckles tells a lot about their respective abilities: Penders cloned Knuckles god knows how many times and tried to add "depth" to the character in a very pretentious way by brute-forcing the echidna civilization and the countless Knuckles clones into becoming the "be-all-end-all" of the comic. Ian on the other hand, just needed a couple pages to humanize Knuckles in that little chat he had with Amy in one of the last issues of Sonic Universe in such a way that not even the games ever achieved. (Only other person I'd trust Knuckles with is Tyson Hesse)

Skull Leader got a reaction from Legendary Emerald in Sonic Forces Development Speculation (Spoilers)
I think Generation's SeaSide Hill was that game's best 3-D stage since it actually used that extra dimension to inter-connect several paths and allow different routes to explore and in different combinations, which intersect at different points and continue to branch into others, while still having the player move towards the same exact goal point.
One thing people need to really understand is that 3-D in Sonic is not going to ever be like Mario's 3-D (free-roaming, collecting stuff) since Sonic is more about moving through obstacle courses often designed more like corridors as they are much easier to design and have a more focused sense of direction, with the option to move to the sides, which allows a player to take shorter routes, enter others that have more obstacles as well as finding new paths.

I'm perfectly OK if Sonic Team were to stop using CGI renders and instead went with hand drawn art, preferably from Hesse.

One thing that I can say after watching the TSR Overdrive short is that Eggpawns are not only the most versatile henchmen, but also the most expresive.
Despite them being robots that are limited to always having the same exact expression, I loved the way that Tyson worked around the design by just adding the mustache alone, which changed the way the Eggpawn emote with very subtle changes in the position of the fake mustache, like how obscuring most of the "teeth"  or part of the eyes gave it a unique personality.
And speaking of Tyson Hesse, one thing I like of him besides his amazing art and animations is how he doesn't have any bias towards either Classic Sonic or Modern, which is a neat and very welcomed thing, since I believe that the modern side of the franchise has just as much potential and charm as Classic. On top, Hesse betting on characters that previously have been given lots of undeserved flak like Amy or Big, and showing with his animations an endearing side of them that many often forget exists is something I consider very admirable, because any other person would had focused instead on the more popular characters. IMO, this franchise needs more people like him that can give "lesser" characters a chance to shine.

*Both Tails and Amy would never doubt to get out there to go save/rescue Sonic when he is in trouble, even to the point of risking their very own lives and that will always speak highly of them.
However, when the character that Sonic sometimes ignores is the one that is willing to sacrifice her own happiness (wether it's in 06 letting Elise kiss Sonic back to life, or ugh, issue #222 of the old Archie comic) it really puts into perspective who really was Sonic's best and most loyal friend all along.
Sorry Tails, but there is no way to top that kind of sacrifice.

I like to think that at the end of the day and after yet another battle, and one more carefully laid plan being foiled by that hedgehog, the good old doc returns to one of his luxurious mansions, all grumpy and covered in the ashes and smoke of his latest creation that just got destroyed by Sonic. He is greeted by an army of robots ready to attend all of his needs and whims, enjoys a warm bath to clean himself, grooms his well kept mustache, enjoys a (huge) consolation dinner and has a bed where he can rest comfortably while in his sleep, his mind starts working on his next scheme to take over the world.
Meanwhile Sonic, the hero and embodiment of freedom, after yet another victorious day of heroics and saving the world, finds himself sleeping in the dirt and without a roof like the nomadic hobo that he is.

Espio's training in the shadow arts of the shinobi had made him develop the ability to sense the presence of other's, much like Amy does. The difference is that Espio got there after years of intense discipline to gain the control of his mind over body, while Amy is a natural, though she does not fully develop the potential of her premonition skills due to handling it more like a hobby to pass time.
One of the reasons I think made Blaze be very zealous of her duty is because she has the pressure of living up to the legacy of her ancestors, who guarded and protected the Sol emeralds for many generations. Also, while she is very skilled, she can be predictable, which is something she tries really hard to change.
Since the chaos emeralds have the power of physically manifesting the desire of those who use it, like Sonic obtaining a power boost with his golden superform to make true his desire of saving the world, maybe Amy's Piko hammer is the physical manifestation of her desire to protect herself and those important to her but without harming nor killing the bad guys. Maybe the innocence of that wish is why she was given instead with a toy-looking hammer with the magical property of it's hitting power being proportional with the intensity of Amy's emotions.

Skull Leader got a reaction from sonic 1-derful in Even Yuji Naka didnt want a cutesy funny Sonic
I beg to differ with Naka, given how it was that very particular direction that they took the franchise, trying to turn it into a hybrid between DBZ and Final Fantasy to appeal to a juvenile audience that desire something more "mature", that hurt the image of the franchise... And not to mention how it was around that era that people started creating the typical self-insert, wish-fulfillment OC's that flooded DA.
Naka IMO isn't exactly someone whose words I would take as word of god, since I believe some of his decisions were misguided and just because he co-created the franchise, that doesn't mean that his word alone should have more weight than more sound arguments from the audience.
IMO, there was no need to completely twist the world of the Sonic franchise to accomodate the more edgy stuff that came starting with SA2, since Sonic himself was a character with some rough edges in terms of his personality who happened to inhabit a very colorful and vibrant world filled with cute designs, which I think created a very interesting and appealing contrast with the action aspect brought by Eggman and his armies of robots. People surprisingly happen to like when characters with cute looking designs engage in some serious action,,and think that the idea of having cute design making things less badass to be pretty absurd... Just imagine if something like the Powerpuff Girls were to be changed  from their cutesy designs into something that is visually more realistic and dark. It would loose a lot of what made the concept interesting in the first place, just like how Sonic lost so much of it's charm when it went from a vibrant and colorful world meant to be fun and exciting, to a more realistic one with it's so called more complex and "mature" take.

Skull Leader got a reaction from Miragnarok in Details that people might forget, don't notice or just don't know about the Sonic Series
Speaking of manga Amy, while the Corocoro issues featured both her and Charmy with designs that resembled much closely their final look in the games, there was still one big cosmetic difference: she wasn't pink, but instead yellow.

Super Amy predates Super Sonic. XP

Skull Leader got a reaction from UltraGizmo64 in Official Sonic 2006 topic
Speaking slowly does not make a character an idiot. Keep in mind, Big fixed and piloted the Tornado to escape the Eggcarrier after the supposedly genious fox boy crash landed it because he forgot to add landing gears to the craft.
If you want true idiocy embodied, look no further than Silver in 06 taking advice from Satan himself without any second thoughts... or Knuckles abandoning his job (again) because Eggman, they guy that tricked him and tried to steal his waifu in the past asked him to deliver a letter for him.
As for reasons to like Big, there's his design, which is pretty unique in a cast where almost everyone seems to be built with the same mold (or is a hedgehog). He's just a simpleton who enjoys life without any care nor worries, a gentle giant who will stop at nothing to rescue his best pal Froggy and who won't stand for his friends being bullied by anyone. Personally, I find more charm in Big than in other characters that were deliberately designed to be cool/edgy, with super powers, complex backstories or who hail from some unreachable place... you know, the kind of stuff that strayed from the more simple days of the classic era, which Big in a way reminds me of. Then there's his theme song "Lazy Days" which is just upbeat and fun to listen, or the fond memories and satisfaction of making people ragequit by winning as Big in S&SASR so many years ago.

Word of God is that Sonic isn't into any of that because he literally is a boy at heart, and will forever be one:

Ignoring the Sonamy stuf, the key part here is the sentence "Sonniku was eien ni shonen no haato desu".
The way the original Sonic Team designed Sonic's character is for him to be a kid. He's not interested in romance because he is a boy who wants to do boy stuff like looking for adventures, fun and excitement and hanging with his best buddy. This is why I can't stand it when writers like Penders try to shoe in real-life stuff like him becoming sexually active, or altering his character into flirting with every chick he sees (I hated this in Archie since I don't think Sonic is the kind of people that would play with other's feelings nor is he someone dishonest) as I feel it's very disrespectful to the creator's original vision of the character. Same goes with "woke" people (often kids) who want to force their bloody LGBBQ identities or whatever they're called onto a character that was meant to be enjoyed by everyone.

Skull Leader got a reaction from Azzy in Star Wars fans have it as bad as Sonic fans
I think that for a character to be well received, it needs to first captivate the audience, something that Rey fails to do because writers are more focused on showing how oh so awesome and strong she is by handling everything to her on a silver plate than in making her an interesting character who has to grow up to overcome fears, maybe an inner conflict and most importantly, EARN that victory.
This is a very simple principle that applies to any character regardless of gender, and really struggle to understand how anyone could possibly like such a character since she is basically plowing through the story with nothing to pose as an obstacle to overcome, and that is something that offers nothing to engage with the character's story nor care for what happens next because the outcome is so painfully obvious.
And while I can understand and agree with people who think that there is nothing wrong with the protagonist being female, I honestly don't think this is the best way to represent females in movies or any other form of entertainment. If anything, it feels patronizing if not insulting, as if females have to be handled only in a very particular way that paints only a positive, but ultimately unrelatable and uninteresting character out of fear to offending someone. Funny how this is not the case with males, who they don't seem to have a problem with experiencing both the ups and especially the downs of their respective journeys.
But hey, it's the current year and in a world full of very polarized views, even the reasonable middle ground will be seen as problematic by either extreme.
And just to make a Sonic comparisson with Rey, I will mention the buddy character from Sonic Forces, who is also liked by everyone and achieves so much more than any of the other characters that had been with Sonic on his fight against Eggman.
Edit: thinking about it, I feel Flynn would had made for a better protagonist. Too bad he now is a character with not much of a purpose beyond the generic "gotta bring down the FO", since the idea of him doing something to free the Stormtroopers, who are basically child soldiers and victims who were robbed their lives and family, would had been a more engaging tale that puts him in a hard position of fighting his former comrades. Sadly Star Wars is only about Good vs Evil, and while Rogue One showed the rebels doing terrible things, god forbid they humanize the bad guys since this is no Gundam.
