  1. The Mormon Missionaries came over to my place today. They didn't know I was gay and thought I was still a member....lol. Was pretty awkward to say the least. They're nice guys for sure, but they kept trying to rope me into following the standards of the church and attending and "living the gospel", and at one point, one of them even had asked if I could "overcome being gay", he apologized to be fair, and admitted it came out badly, but still, wow lol. It's weird how the church tries to be progressive while still keeping their not progressive values. Again, not sure what they expect out of me.

I mean I'm not religious, or at least into organized faith with how it's set up, but I wouldn't say I'm hard pressed atheist either. Agnostic perhaps?

Man, that's always awkward, to run into people from your old religion... but at least they were nice about it, even if they said stuff that wasn't very comfortable to say the least.

Admittedly, I haven't run into familiar Jehovah's Witnesses after we left, but my parents ran into some old "friends" a long time ago who practically accused them of being followers of Satan in public, right in front of my younger sisters. Not gonna lie, being in that religion all my life, hearing about that really hurt me.

Hearing about how gay people and other people essentially were living a life of sin that could be corrected through Jesus, always kinda made me feel bad about myself and was partially responsible for me not ever accepting myself. Basically inviting me to come back and hear more stuff that I'll disagree with doesn't really sound all that exciting

I get the feeling I'm gonna start hearing from the Mormons more now...

Man, it's been like ten years since I left that behind and I *still* get letters from the local singles ward. And apparently missionaries still pop by the house now and then looking for me, but it's always when I'm at work. I dunno, I thought I made it at least somewhat clear back in the day that I didn't want anything more to do with it DX

Those kind of beliefs can really mess one up, that's for sure. It really makes me sad hearing about people who are forced to keep things to themselves out of fear that they'll be disfellowshipped, rejected, or such by their peers.

My life as a Witness really gave me a really misanthropic, bitter view of the world that I'm still trying my hardest to dispel from my mentality.

Can't imagine what those two were thinking and saying when they left lol.
