  1. Ash has Misty and Brock promise that they'll come see him in Alola, and the two of them assure him that they will. So we can probably expect more cameos from them. They might become infrequent characters for the saga.
  2. Beat the game in a little under 13 hours, getting to 100% along the way. I still hold Super Metroid and Metroid Prime to an unfair regard, but Samus Returns fits snugly in the #3 spot. I had a lot of fun with it, though the boss battles can get really aggravating six minutes into them.
  3. The Mania Emerald Stages are, without fucking fail, the worst the series has ever had. Shitty controls, rubber banding UFO, no invincibility frames so you hit one batch of spikes into another, I am stunned the devs were such utter pinheads to allow this to be greenlit.

    1. Soniman

completley dissagree about all of this besides the frames, I find it one of the better ones

I am sorry that you disliked them. Personally, I found them pretty fun (except special stage five that one is a bubbles in the behind).

    3. Kuzu

They were rather simple once I figured them out, but to each their own.

Completely disagree. I loved Mania's special stages, and personally found Sonic Heroes to have the worst, most broken special stages ever.

Hope you love losing momentum just from moving left and right, and I really hope you love getting stuck on the ceiling and randomly turned around! Seriously, Heroes' special stages are trash.

Heroes's controls are slippery by fault of the tubular design screwing with the momentum.

Mania's controls are bad to create fake difficulty.

i think this status just melted my eyes

I mean they're still not great and I think that there are a multitude of better ways in which to allow the player to obtain emeralds beyond some more damn special stages... but I have to say that these are some of the best the series has had thus far imo. They're far from perfect (especially with the lack of invincibility frames) but they didn't make me want to pull my hair out this time around so there's that. Hell, after forcing myself to master them they actually became, dare I say, pleasant.

Though again, if there's one thing I actually want to have die off in this franchise, it's special stages. Well, that and time limits.

One thing I didn't like was you have to go through the stages again if you just wanna have fun with them.

They're not very good but they're not very bad. There's a weird learning curve because of all the unnecesarry clunk but once I got the hang of them I didn't mind. They're basically like the other special stages.

Nah man, I disagree. They're easily find them among the best. I mean, Special Stage 5 was hard as hell on my first try, but they're great otherwise.

And man, if you think the controls for this are bad I'd love to hear your thoughts on the controls for the Advance trilogy. Or Sonic CD, for that matter.

*I easily find them among the best

      All this time

The genre of racing games had bad controls and exist to create fake difficulty

      I'd play a racing game.

Oh alright, lemme just switch it over to

A psychedelic marble board rotation game

A gated scripted memorization and reaction based obstacle course running game

A 3D exploration-based enemy room game with indeterminable depth due to 2D sprites and wonky scaling

A graph-based connect the dots and collect the spheres puzzle game on an indeterminably sized sphere in a 3D space

      A broken mess

A 3D collection-based sky diving game with indeterminable depth due to 2D sprites and screen location

      A 3D collection-based exploration game

A 3D collection-based biplane driving/walking game with indeterminable depth due to 2D sprites

      A 3D touch-screen-based precision challenge

      A waterboat race

Or a gyro-controlled collectathon maze in a full 6-axis 3D space on a system with viewing angle-specific 3D capabilities as a selling point

  4. I'm liking Sonic Mania less and less as time goes on, especially with the Special Stages. I've never felt such pathetic frame delay when a game's speed increases before.

YEEES. I shall call it Squishy, and it shall be MY Squishy.

And the Metroid is called Jerry.

  6. #MetroidSamusReturns Hmmm, I got the second Aeion upgrade, but now I can't activate my Scan Pulse despite toggling over to it. Could someone help me out with that?

    WHEN. HOW.

  10. There's no point in going regular Kaio-Ken x 100. That's equal to the power of Super Saiyan 2 but with monumentally greater strain. My money's on Goku actually absorbing the power of the Genki Dama he creates and accessing this transformation via that. With the Broly movie rendered non-canon, that means Super Android 13 is non-canon as well, and consequentially so is that movie's "Spirit Saiyan", so such a feat is something technically never done before. That Goku's giving off color highlights similar to the Genki Dama - white, silver, with some hints of blue - helps support the idea.
  11. Goku breaks out a Kaio-ken x20 and it doesn't work, then busts out the Spirit Bomb and still doesn't look to work, and then pulls out a clutch new transformation to turn things around. Wonder what Freeza thinks of that.
  12. Dr. Rota bring cut off both times he was about one proclaim his abilities was probably the point. It's been like ten episodes of new fighters announcing and showcasing their tricks, and it's just gotten old and pointless at this point. From here on out, it's time to put up or shut up.
  13. Oh yeah, I expect Beerus to start getting worried when U7 loses a fair amount of fighters. But compared to Rummshi, Quitela, his brother, and even Varmoud, he's been taking these early losses with composure while also giving due respect to his fighters when the situation calls for it, and has only gotten upset when his fighters really deserved the condemnation. It's just not something we would have expected from Beerus circa BoG saga.
  14. Another U7 fighter down, another instance of Beerus not going into a rage or petty spat or panic, and instead praising his fighter for the work he put in this time. Really sets him apart from the other GoDs on the chopping block here.
  15. Personally, I think Dragonball Super's Cabba's English voice would be absolutely perfect for Fire Emblem's Roy in English dubs.

    1. Kuzu

Is that the same voice that's going to carry to Super?

    2. DiamondX

Yes. The only XV2 VA that got changed is Aaron Roberts who played Hit.

Hit is now voiced by Matthew Mercer.

    3. Dejimon11

I still can't believe Jotaro is Hit

  16. I was listening to the Sonic Mania intro theme when the Misty and Brock news dropped, and now I can't not associate Friends with Ash, Misty, and Brock.
  17. Curiously, the scans clarify that Brock is indeed working to become a Pokemon Doctor, as he did in after DP. But Misty's job as the Cerulean Gym Leader is omitted. It just specifies she's a Water Pokemon Specialist. So. That could be a thing.
  18. Misty's VA, Mayumi Iizuka, has not retired. In fact she's the one who revealed that Misty picture. Of the Pokegirl VAs, Iizuka seems to be the one who enjoys her role the most and is always keen on coming back to reprise Misty and just waits for word from the staff for when she's needed - she'd probably come right back and voice her full time if Misty was brought back as a permanent cast member. KAORI, May's VA, is the one that retired, iirc, and Megumi Hayashibara, Dawn's, is on maternity leave and has put her career on pause for the moment. As for Ueda, Brock's VA, he voices Wobbuffet. He's still around.
  19. Screenshots and scans for the episodes. This will be only a two-parter.
  20. The average time it takes to get an episode from conception to syndication is six months - conveniently around the time Verity and the other kid were revealed for Movie 20, and were eviscerated by the fandom writ large. You could say there's causation, I'll leave it to you to decide. Far more believably, there's talk that Ultra SM will take you to Kanto, so that might be what this is for.
  21. Sun and Moon have regularly been hitting the top 10 ratings every week. If the show needs one thing, ratings isn't it.
  22. Gotta Catch Ya Later indeed.

  23. pretty much sums up the os base. myself included.
  24. Roshi tired himself out to death with the Mafuba in Dragonball but was revived no problem. The problem comes with Earth Dragonballs having already revived him, and the Namekian Dragonballs not allowed to revive people who did die naturally indirectly or otherwise (Tien almost counts here, but he was already on his way to death from Nappa's onslaught, and his Kikoho only accelerated the process). Roshi would have qualified for both restrictions. But then, that's what the Super Dragonballs would be for.
