  1. Remember that scene in Dragonball Z Buu Saga where Van Zant and Smithy snipe an elderly couple walking down a path trying to find shelter?

Yeah, fuck that scene. My most hated moment in Dragonball, just from how it got under my skin and pissed me off.

  2. This Atelier song sounds like it belongs at home as a Sonic CD Good Future song, damn.

  3. Where the FUCK has Atelier music been all my life.

    Holy HELL.

Wooo boy you've been missing out

  5. Gohan killing Cell is probably one of the best death scenes in anime, as far as presentation goes. Just seeing Cell disintegrate ever so slowly as he chokes and screams in agony, before bellowing out one last flabbergasted line about his perfection, and then being blown apart from his attack stance and his body reduced to shreds, including seeing the arms and eyes dissipate to nothing, and one last disarming moan as the remnants of his outline of where he was finally gives way to the blast.

It's a shot by shot sequence of what happens when you succumb to one of these anime attacks, and it's incredibly chilling.

I think what really sells is the look of horror in his face as pieces of him slowly begins to disintegrate.

    3. Kuzu

I know people love to give shit to the Faulconer soundtrack nowadays, but Cell's death is easily one of it's best uses. It really just sells the entire moment.

    4. -Robin-

@Ratcicle King The transition from a look of shock and disbelief, to one of pain and horror, amidst the flashing lights of the attack overwhelming him and pieces of his body flaking off....It's so seamless that it comes across as eerily genuine and real. That is the power of animating things frame by frame at its best.

@Kuzu the Boloedge That was the first time I heard Ginyu Transformation, but damn did that song feel appropriate for this moment. You can feel the finality of the moment with it.

That line gives me goosebumps every time.

The original JP also had a pretty good song, it and Ginyu Transformation basically had a pretty similar mood.

Oh, so, yeah, watch this and never hear this scene the same way again.

  7. After all these years, Sonic 2 Special Stage is still such a banger song.

  8. Hi, I'm an outsider to Megaman for the most part.

The Megaman 11 demo is really fucking good. Welcome back, Blue Bomber.

  9. SEGA of today is not just a video game software maker, it has other enterprises in Japan that they focus on via the SEGA Sammy conglomerate.

Outsourcing the IPs to other developers makes sense from that lens, viewing the video game market as "simply" another enterprise and basing decisions on that perspective. At least they're outsourcing the stuff to studios with proven backgrounds.

  10. Tiki has come back in Fire Emblem in such a big way recently that I'm hoping this culminates to her being in Smash.

  12. Just realize that since the Switch is not region locked, westerners will get their chance to play the first two Fire Emblems as they roll out the Famicom games, and the next three Fire Emblems as they move on to the Super Famicom library.

I know I'll be getting those.

  15. Who told King K. Rool he could bring an actual musket gun with him to Smash Bros.

      Shade Vortex

Pretty sure they confirmed ALL the Smash Bros. characters will get amiibo, including Daisy, Chrom, Dark Samus and Simon.

    4. TCB

      There's no issue.

Robin is saying we now live in a world where we will have a collectable toys-to-life figure of a Castlevania character done by Nintendo.

This timeline I swear just crazy man

      Blue Wisp

      Dark Samus Amiibo?

      Hell yeah.

  17. You now remember that the Nicktoon Catscratch existed.

    1. Ferno

before it came out i really did believe nickelodeon's hype that it'd be the next great nicktoon and would probably get like 6 seasons or more, etc. the actual show was just ok. I liked it but it wasn't something on the level of rocko's modern life, rugrats, or spongebob. ironically looking back, as it came out in 2005, it really did feel like the last good nicktoon of the classic era before the well dried up and Nick soley relied on just Spongebob for years.

    2. TCB

You now remember that this existed.

  18. So should I be expecting an Animal Crossing remix from Hideki Naganuma at this point, or what.

  19. Credit where its due, they had to find a way for people to turn heads for new F-Zero content in Smash, and they found it.

    1. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

Smash 4's F-0 rep was so offensive, so this is an instant improvement.

  20. Whoever designed Special Stage 7 in Plus should be legally disbarred from making video games for life.

fans make better sonic games than sega

    2. Patticus

@SupahBerry But Sega wouldn't have the fans who make better games than them if they hadn't made the games they make better versions of!

    3. Candescence

Thank Christ for the giant ring right at the start of Flying Battery. Makes actually retrying the stage significantly less painful.

Though really all the new special stages are a significant difficulty jump from the originals. It's a shame the endgame payoff is kinda lacking, though funny.

  21. Shoutout to the Mania Special Stages forgetting that collision detection exists if anyone hits a hazard, thereby letting one think they can cruise over small gaps at Mach 3 when actually they can't anyway.

Mania Special Stages are  as well designed and mechanically sound as a unicycle using a soup can lid as the wheel.

    1. Strickerx5

and yet they're still some of the best special stages we've ever had. Right up there with Rush imo.

... why did they come back again?

    2. Waveshocker Sigma

      Waveshocker Sigma

Not sure I agree with them being some of the best, honestly. Would've preferred Blue Spheres just being the Special Stages with them being accessible from the posts like they are. Makes things less frustrating a stressful.

  22. It's honestly going to be an end of an era when Pat Sajak, Vanna White, Alex Trebek, and Bob Barker pass on.

    1. Mr Loopone

      Mr Loopone

Yeah, I can see why since Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! and Price is Right are still aired in the US and have their fanbase.

In terms of UK gameshows, it is end of an era because we lost Bruce Forsyth, Jim Bowen and Dale Winton all very recently. A big chunk of memories gone... Some old school ones such as Bob Monkhouse (even though there is an Australian host who does act like him though, Andrew O'Keefe) and Terry Wogan have passed as well. There's only Ben Shephard, Bradley Walsh, Nick Knowles (eh..), Alexander Armstrong, Warwick Davis in terms of hosts with only a couple who have done more than one show and even then gameshows aren't as popular as they used to be.

  23. Glad to see the Special Stages in Plus control the same and are as intelligently designed as the originals were.

....No wait, I said that wrong. It's shameful to see the Special Stages in Plus control the same and are as intelligently designed as the originals were.

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

I despise the new special stages. So many special effects that it easily fucks with you and makes it hard to tell where you're going, and the stage itself is nowhere near designed well.

    2. Harkofthewaa

Yeah, I think they went with making them hard over making them fun.

    3. TheOcelot

I've played the new speical stages enough times that I never fail to beat them now. They are well designed. It just requires practice. As I've said before you can beat all the new ones by staying in mach2 speed.

    4. Strickerx5

I only found 1, 2, and 7 to be difficult (7 because of some trick spacing and the stupid fact that the ground is the same color as the pit). The rest I pretty much beat on my first go of them.

Though yeah, I will say that they weren’t nearly as fun or well designed as the first set.

    5. Dejimon11

Man the special stages in the base game are good. In plus lol they're bad.

    6. KHCast

Are they pretty down there in terms of special stages throughout the series?

    7. Strickerx5

@KHCast Honestly, I’d still say that they’re a lot better than a majority of the other special stages... but that really isn’t saying much considering how much I hate special stages in general.

  24. It's clear that Classic Knuckles really doesn't want anything to do with Sonic unless he absolutely needs to, so other Classic games from here on could very well sub in Mighty for him, so the setting doesn't always have to return to the Master Emerald or Angel Island to justify Knuckles.

Ray's harder to justify over Tails though, since Tails has no animosity at all. Wonder how they'd go about subbing Ray in for that, unless they just go with the four as a set.

    1. Forte-Metallix

I think Ray's connection to Mighty, and now Team Sonic as a whole, is enough to justify him coming back to help in later adventures. But they could just as easily say he, or any of the others, might not be available for a game. They're all Sonic's friends, but that doesn't mean they're obligated to spend all their time with him.

  25. Multiverse theory dictates there exists a universe where Sonic Mania has Marble Garden Zone, and Encore Mode for Marble Garden Zone uses the sunset backdrop pallet.

    1. Tails spin

      Tails spin

Glad I'm not in that universe. I reaally dislike Marble Garden Zone
