  1. Just saw on TV an African American teenager backflip off a two story roof and land without breaking a bone in his body. He called himself Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.

    1. Phantomime

When I tried doing things Sonic could do as a little kid, I got myself filthy. And injured.

    2. azoo

That man is a true hero. A TRUE HERO.

    3. Phantomime

See this is the kind of Sonic fan that should be talked about.

      What show was this?

    5. -Robin-

That's the funny part. He was featured on "World's Dumbest," a program regularly shown on TruTV.

    6. Patticus

@Phantomime: What, the kind of idiot who does stupid things to get attention and who will one day win a Darwin Award?

  2. Oil Ocean Zone: Good example of a "darker" than normal stage, without even going down a typical "darker and edgier" route.

  3. Saw that concept art of Sonic's original Riders outfit, and had a friend make a texture of it to put over Sonic's Smash Bros. model. I'm ready to use it in a tournament setting. This is the result (you'll need to zoom out in order to get the full picture) - http://i.imgur.com/96d5j.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KRRAl.jpg

Not bad, it looks a little furry though. I also recommend seeing if you can't blur out the line where his fur meets his belly, because it stands out quite a bit.

  4. Job application at museum: "Sorry, we found someone else." Job app at golf course: "Oh sure, I'll give you a call sometime about it." Never got call back. Job app at bank: "Sorry, this requires a month of training, and when training's done, you'll be back at school." App at jailhouse: "sorry, one of our former employees came back and he'll be here longer." Forever jobless.

      Old dead account

I know the feeling. Job hunting's a bitch. I submit apps, never get called get discouraged and just quit searching. That's my job hunt cycle. Forever jobless as well

    2. -Robin-

The light at the end of the tunnel out of all this is that I'm guaranteed a job at the malt shop back at campus, os so my manager said. Still, it would have been great if I could find a job in this town of mine; all I did the last 2 1/2 months was collect dust, pretty much.

    3. -Robin-

But yeah, I know what you mean about how discouraging it can get when no one calls you back Gartocer. What's worse is when someone takes back what they said about positions, which is what happened to me at the local hardware and electronics store.

  5. After like 5 years of being corrupted by Missingno., my Pokemon Blue version is apparently working as if nothing had ever happened, allowing me to save game data without that data being deleted once I turn the game on. Needless to say, I'm thrilled.

That might have just been a dead battery. Don't speak too soon, as it will probably just erase itself again...

@Jix: What? Blue isn't really a rare game.

    4. goku262002

i'm shocked people are still playing blue version, its a US made version!

      that and its ooooooooolllllllllllldddddddddddd

    5. PSI Wind

      PSI Wind

It's still better than Green version bug-wise.

    6. goku262002

Green was the first version of pokemon so its bound to be buggy. it wen green > red > blue > yellow.

but green was soo fun to glitch. i could actually get to the elite 4 with just my lvl. 5 starter. oh and this:

      WARNING: Will cause nightmares.

  6. Hey, you , watcha gonna do? -

  7. I have a fair chance on winning a cash prize in a Smash Bros. tournament with Sonic tomorrow, but I have no money to make the trip. :

    1. Shiluku

  8. Record episodes of Doug on DVR while I have the chance, or buy episodes on iTunes so I have them for the upcoming school semester, but on computer quality. Decisions, decisions. :V

  9. Nice little visual - http://www.wtfnoway.com/

Get this thing to the debt crisis thread- STAT. :U

  10. Now that I think about it, Mickey did the same thing Sonic Generations is doing, only he did it 15 years ago. Anyone remember Mickey Mania for the SNES/Sega CD?

    1. Sean

Yeah. Tends to be difficult when trying to decipher background and foreground, but otherwise it's solid.

  11. Sonic vs. Wario and Diddy in Smash Bros. Brawl. Why are these so tough? :V

    1. Jix Hedgehog

      Jix Hedgehog

Cus Nintendo didn't give Sonic very strong smash attacks.. Kind of unfair he struggles to punch an opponent off the screen at 120% while Toon Link can do it at ½ that damage :( Still fun to play thou

    2. Nepenthe

On normal settings with no items, probably Wario. 2x the normal damage setting- Sonic. Smash Balls enabled? Saaaawwwwniiiiiik.

      At least, in my experience.

  12. Playing Sonic Rush for the first time in forever. Mirage Road has so many distinct alternate paths oh wow.

    1. no one

      no one

Sonic Rush is a good game I love it.

    2. Shiluku

      I barely remember the stage.

I remember thinking that the voice clips in BGM said "derpity-derp-derp" over and over, though.

    3. thatguyfrom03

Best stage and music IMO. The indoor/outdoor made the alternate routes more memorable from a visual standpoint.

  13. Can't decide if this is an overstatement, or a true way home - http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/07/25/277857/corporations-rich-taxes-debt-disappear/

But I thought taxes were un-American.

Anything that unironically uses "progress" in its name is automatically full of shit.

  14. All of human history is the result of God - despite his infinite wisdom - failing to erect an electric fence around the Tree of Knowledge.

    1. Nitwit_Speed

Hey, he wanted to trust us. Maybe he made that mistake on purpose?

    2. Mr. Awesomest

      Mr. Awesomest

Tree of Knowledge was God's way of selecting Humanity's difficulty setting. When they took from the tree, he enabled "Dante Must Die" mode.

  15. 90s Are All That begins in 15 minutes, and I'm miles away from home and with no TeeNick here. Darn it @_@

    1. Noir

ffffffff I don't get TeenNick on my tv and my mom is hogging the only one that does

    2. Smock

      You know what's all that?

      This is.

      -And I'm watching this.

  16. So since Generations 3DS's special stages are based off of Heroes's stages, that could mean that the Emerald Stage theme or the Bonus stage theme could be remixed for them. I am so ok with this that it hurts.

  17. Had a hypothetical "Sonic and Knuckles 2" game on the mind lately. The concept is pretty sound; give Sonic the default level structure, but add in breakable walls and terrain for Knuckles to smash through and find shortcuts. To compensate, Sonic is granted a few more abilities and can run faster. I wonder how such an idea would play in 3D though.

    1. -Robin-

And by idea, I mean the destructible terrain idea to enforce multiple paths and secrets. The premise is comparatively simple.

    2. Scott

Like on Sonic Unleashed (xbox) where you press A to jump and X to homing attack, have knuckles play the same as sonic, but slower and have him jump with A and perform a screwdriver smash in the air with X or if running press X to do a tornado slide or something to break the terrain?

    3. -Robin-

Sort of. The way I had it in my mind was that Knuckles would use his glide and wall scaling abilities to great effect, and his melee abilities would play second fiddle. He would break through things automatically once he hit a hot spot, but I guess a screwdriver technique would be needed to access things undergound.

It would be like if Sonic and Knuckles were running toward a cliffside, and where Sonic has to jump on platforms and use pulleys ant whatnot, Knuckles wold simply run t...

    4. -Robin-

to the wall and smash through it automatically, revealing a cave or something. But that he's still have the option to take Sonic's platforming route, or simply climb up the wall.

  18. Had a dream about OoT 3DS, but there was a teddy bear at the Temple of Time's secret door to honor Link, Castle Town looked like hell, the redeads had ninja-like attacks, and Hyrule field was greener with flowers, had more elevations, and Peahats dropped bombs everywhere. It was weird yet crazy awesome.

    1. Xenos

      WHAT THE?!

Well, now we know he's the final boss in Generations.

      The drunkard from space!

      How did you do that...?

    4. -Robin-

I didn't do that, I found the gif on another forum I go to. If I had still had my copy of Sonic Heroes and my PS2, I'd be trying to replicate that.

  19. I knew that the setting of The Legend of Korra would be in a Metropolis-esque area, but to have technology so advanced that there are automotive vehicles like standard cars and buses? Can't decide how I feel about that, maybe a mixture of both surprise and subtle skepticism.

      Saint Nathan

They have entire BATTLESHIPS. Modern ones. In the first one.

Chances are cars and such were only held back because that's how the Fire Nation wanted it.

  20. I don't know if it's because I'm someone who was perfectly situated in the transition from playing video games religiously to playing them casually, but I never truly had an issue with the speed boosters in Sonic 4, and I doubt I will have an issue if any crop up in Generations's Classic stages.

    1. Voyant

Green Eyes, Purple Rocks, and now Speed Boosters in Chemical Plant...It just gets worse and worse.

  21. I reaaally would not mind if that Live and Learn remix becomes the credits theme, or C. Sonic's theme for fighting the final boss or Shadow, lol

  22. The convenience store near the hotel I'm staying at in New York uses the "Ring" jingle from Sonic whenever the cash register is turned on for use. I found this pretty awesome XD

    1. Mr. Awesomest

      Mr. Awesomest

I swore I heard a ring sound whenever the cash register opened in some gas station store in Georgia while coming back from vacation.

  23. Nickelodeon is bringing back most of its 90s cartoons and game shows and airing them as a block on Teen Nick. My childhood is in jubilation.

    1. Noir

I had difficulty believing that commercial was real

My body is so ready for the Amanda Show

    2. -Robin-

I like Amanda Show as well, but I'm eagerly awaiting the reunion of my childhood and Legends of the Hidden Temple and Doug even more.

Shoot, all the block needs is the Secret Life of Alex Mack and I'll be ready to dive in and never get out.

    3. Noir

HOLY SHIT are they seriously bringing back Hidden Temple? I don't even remember seeing that in the preview, that is incredible

Also, the Promo has a second with Olmec on it.

I see people everywhere baaaw'd loud enough. I'm proud of the world, though what they should've been asking for was NEW good programming, not re-runs of old good programming from 2 decades ago.
