17's explosion was so conclusive that even the Grand Priest said  he had died from it.
....if Goku and Freeza had fallen, would he even had noticed it and declared the fight a draw, or would he had declared U7 the loser despite that not being true.

The GP's been rigging this tournament from the start for U7, hasn't he. :v

-Robin- got a reaction from MightyRay in Sonic Mania Plus: Official Reveal (Coming July 17th) - NO SPOILERS
I can't wait to see chibi Mighty and chibi Ray in Metallic Madness.

As for Encore Mode, the first thing that came to mind was Hard Mode missions in Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog. The general layouts of the stages are the same, but new obstacles (and the absence of some stage assets) are now implemented that you have to take time for negotiating around them.

Think how City Escape Hard Mode introduced rapid-fire shielded GUN sentry robots immediately, barricades, and removed some of the hovering platforms. And if you want a non-Hard Mode-esque application to this, City Escape Hard Mode placed in more, smaller ramps in the boarding section and midway that don't really impede your progress, but could mess up your flow if you weren't ready for them. Apply that to 2D environments, and there you go.

I understand the disappointment about a lack of Amy. She's always been the next obvious choice for another playable character in a Classic game for obvious reasons. I'm so happy to see Mighty and Ray though. To me, they're more interesting than Amy because of their curveball nature. Reviving these two forgotten characters and giving them their first, real appearance outside of two of the oldest and most niche games in series is so exciting. I sincerely doubt that the team is going to make them reskins.
I can't get over the fact that this is happening. Physical Mania with an art book and tons of new content that tugs at my heartstrings. Bravo

Neither Mighty or Ray is interesting alone. But in terms of bringing back old content and making something new and special, these two are a gold mine. I never expected this to happen, and I'm so stoked for it.

-Robin- got a reaction from Potada in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - PLEASE SPOILER TAG LEAKS
Keep them in their Freelancer class, pull moves from the other classes like the Valkyrie's Jump and the Salve-Maker's Feel No Pain to form parts of their kit, have them all be alts to on another.

Make their neutral B the Brave/Default mechanic itself, where they can store Brave Counters with a special Default parry, then unleash them all in the Brave state where their next few attacks either have enormous FAF buffs or their endlag cut in half or more.

You know you want this. C'mon Square, you know Disney won't fork over Sora.

It makes sense in hindsight why exactly Jiren has just been taking his time with beating everyone.

Every scuffle he partook in this tournament, he basically turned it into a condensed version of what he perceives to have experienced in his life: a boost of morale or hope for his opponent, only to completely no sell the assault and leave them dismayed that nothing they have can overcome overwhelming power. Remember, Maji Kayo initiated the fight with Jiren in the hopes of finding a weakness for U3 to exploit, and Jiren actually stepped up to this fight. Ribrianne just booked it when she found herself in his space and Jiren didn't bother. He allowed the Spirit Bomb to be fully completed before he took it. He allowed the Final Flash to be fully charged before he took it, pretended to be harmed, and countered.

Nothing matters to Jiren aside from power. Not ideals, not heart, and especially not trust. If they want to keep getting back up and fight, so be it. Jiren’s just gonna bat them down again in order to make a point that no amount of motivation or drive is going to beat him. Goku and Vegeta are getting mad and vow to beat Jiren somehow? Fine with him, makes it all the more final when he takes it all with nary a wound on him.

"Pride" Trooper. Please. Obsession is a more apt term; obsession with power, and the rush he gets in flaunting it, and nothing more.

It's going to bite him in the ass in this coming fight now, but then he couldn't really see it coming; Goku had only tapped into UI and he believed himself to be capable of batting it away with just a slight aura boost. "So that is your limit." He couldn't have expected UI to actually have a second level of mastery that we see here. But oh well, that's what he gets for relying only on power and not any emotional support he could have asked for.

His barriers were being broken left and right all episode, so if 17 just tried to hold off that last blast, it would have ended with him, Goku, and Vegeta all knocked out of the ring.

He held the last one for as long as he could before going out with a bang, taking one for the team.

-Robin- reacted to Ratcicle King in Dragon Ball (Warning: Untagged Spoilers)
I think Jiren's disappointment is specifically at Toppo. Let's remember he's been said to believe in two things above all: Justice and pride in one's power.
Toppo not only gave up any notion of justice he had, but also did so for a cheap power up, unashamed at his own weakness. He, the leader of the PRIDE troopers, showed he had no pride or self esteem in his own power, that when the chips were down, he'd prefer to rely on something else than his own strenght.  Jiren is disgusted because the guy he respected as a leader and friend betrayed the two main principles of their team, and Jiren's own personal beliefs, out of cowardice.
And it's kinda fitting that Vegeta is the one to eliminate Toppo especially with the Final Explosion. After all, Vegeta himself once let his own weakness take over, letting go of his morals for a cheap power up and becoming Majin Vegeta. To do the same attack he did to atone for his sins, and survive this time, on his own strenght no less, shows how much he's evolved as a character.

Now Gohan going out before 17 makes sense. Had Toppo fought this current Gohan, it would have just been him taking down another fighter. But against 17 he's established that his GoD power surpasses beyond infinite energy.
As for Freeza, he needed to get his teeth kicked in. Dunno what happens to him now, but he's going to be staggering for a while.

Holy hell, Jiren is supposed to be stronger than this. He at least takes damage right now, but to think he's stronger than this eclipsing Toppo....

This episode was terrifyingly animated. A whole lot of imposing shots and colors. Now that the show's hit endgame, this animation should remain consistent.
