  1. Did anyone hear Marvel might make Netflix shows about Blade, Moon Knight, and Ghost Rider.

    1. AlphaRuby

If true, it would be the second attempt to make a Blade TV show.

The last one ended after one season.

    2. Speederino

Moon Knight would fit in so well with Daredevil and Jessica Jones, seriously.

I'll be so hype if Moon Knight actually get a series

  2. Well I saw Batman vs Superman. I didn't hate it per say, but hoo boy, I did not love it either. Damn it Snyder.....

Yep, totally gonna be one of those films

  3. Well that was...... Anti Climatic.

  4. Who saw the sausage party trailer?

I did, and I can tell you I certainly didn't like it. It was honestly more horrific than funny, and it tossed around swears to the point of annoyance. I also can't say I liked the character designs, either. Overall, I just found the trailer really unappealing.

How many thought it was gonna be a kid's movie from the preview thumbnail alone

    5. FriendBot

With a title called Sausage Party, I'm pretty sure a lot of people were thinking about Penises than Kid Movie.

If anyone thought this is a kids movie based on this image, they are fucked.

I saw the trailer and it looks stupid as hell.

      I did.

I've heard of Sausage Party before so I already knew it was an adult film.

For the trailer, meh, the whole anthropomorphic food 's fear of being eaten/sliced/chopped/whatever alive concept has already been done before but meh, whatever. It does look like a dumb movie but it could be one of those "so bad it's good" kind of films.

At least this will prove not all cgi animated films are family friendly.

@Destructo-Dog It doesn't matter, because anyone can tell from this trailer that this movie's not going to be mature in the least. It's gonna be full of swearing, sex jokes, etc., but those things don't make something "adult." All it does is send the message that, even when animation is made for adults, it's still as immature as any kid's movie/cartoon. In fact, things like this are far less mature than many, many works of animation made for children.

The animation age ghetto's not going away anytime soon, and "adult" movie's like this certainly aren't going to help speed up the process.

You make a good point there Hyper. That does bug me about adult oriented media nowadays.

Maybe the reason they always rely on swearing, sex, drugs and drinking jokes all the time is because it would be hard to differentiate kids films/shows and adult ones.

But I understand that there can be a way to make a good mature show/movie/game etc without using any of those things listed before.

I'll admit, it does look like it's trying to be disturbing rather than humorous.

      What makes something "adult"?

    15. Hyper Enesephus

      Hyper Enesephus

@Destructo-Dog That is an interesting question, what does make something adult? I'm not entirely certain I have the answer, mainly because animation for adults (especially in film) is relatively rare (and I have yet to see any of it, though I will eventually), while, in live action, you can make and release something for adults no problem, and I don't watch live action. I mean, I'll watch and enjoy a live action movie or show if I saw it as a kid, and there are a couple I actually want to see (mostly older ones that have been parodied a lot, like Alien), but, otherwise, I'm strictly an animation guy.

I think what makes something for adults really means not having to be held back from going in any direction, you can leave no stone unturned, you can tackle any issue, you can make any joke, you can pretty much do anything a kids movie can't. However, in live action, you don't have to shove it down the audience's throat that you're for adults. In animation, though, a long time ago it was decided cartoons were strictly for kids (and there's a whole mini history lesson there), so most stuff for adults feels the need to do everything in its power to make sure you know it's not for the kiddies, which is especially bad because almost every adult animation needs to be a raunchy comedy like Family Guy or South Park, and each one needs to be raunchier or more shocking than the last.

I could go on forever, I have a lot to say, but I can't do it here. Perhaps someone should make a topic on this. It could have some good discussion value.

By the way, sorry if this post was a bit disjointed, it's late and I have too much to say on this subject to type it all here.

  15. Wanna know how ashamed Disney is for making Chicken Little? Last year was its 10th anniversary and Disney didn't even bother to acknowledge it.

    1. Klinsy

To be fair, Home On The Range anniversary was 2 years ago and they didn't do anything for it either.

    2. Miragnarok

They must be embarrassed of the happy-slappy Home on the Range as well...

    4. Milo

@Pink Cat In fairness, Home On The Range isn't exactly a classic either.

I'm sure most people remember it for putting traditionally animated Disney movies on ice until The Princess and The Frog.

We also got Pixar's Finding Dory, DWA's Kung Fu Panda 3, Blue Sky's Ice Age: Collision Course, Illumination's The Secret Life of Pets, and WB/WAG's Storks. And that's counting the major animation film studios, we've also got Rainmaker's Ratchet and Clank film adaptation and Sony Pictures Imageworks' The Angry Birds Movie*. Sony Pictures Animation also has Open Season: Scared Silly, though that's direct-to-video.

2016 is the year of animated animals.

*Sony Pictures Imageworks, despite being part of Sony Pictures, is usually responsible for making special effects and character animation, and rarely do animated films (theatrical or short films).
