  1. Finally beat a Mega Man game for the first time! Can mark MM2 off the list. Starting to like the series more now that I'm getting a feel for it. I'll definitely branch out into the X series down the line!

  2. Here's a character acting shot I've been blocking-in today! Got a couple leads on my first gig in the industry so now's the time to up the quality as far as possible!

  3. I've been trying to get into smash more and more since Ultimate released. Only realised last night that this idiot somehow missed out on Piranha plant despite having the game from launch. If I start playing regularly I'll definitely pick that up with the fighter pass since there's some deals atm. Definitely gonna want a full character roster!

  4. Overwatch Switch is running at 900P docked, 720P handheld, but the framerate is locked to 30fps at all times.

  5. MORE FIGHTERS is genuinely huge! I actually kinda think it might overshadow the Terry reveal for a lot of people.

  6. Regardless of what becomes of Overwatch on switch, as someone who has still yet to buy a case for his Switch I'll definitely be grabbing that Overwatch branded one, love the look of it!

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

Very tempting to swap out my Breath of the Wild case for it...

  7. Decided to try and get into the Shantae series. Had Risky's Revenge on Steam for a couple years and never properly played it but I'm gonna start with the original Shantae and work my way up.

  8. "Hey, Omega. Did I ever tell you, Shadow is a robot? And uhhh....."

      still better than KH3's translation.

    4. Polkadi~☆

What’s wrong with this translation? It makes sense to me.

    5. JosepHenry

no cuz Shadow isn't a robot

    6. Polkadi~☆

      That’s a heck of a goof.

  9. Finally making a dent in the Sonic games I missed out on growing up! Just completed Sonic Advance for the first time a minute ago! Pretty solid game overall, the special stages become a little more tolerable with time even if they're never going to be great.

A bit of a short game on the whole, but after finishing a Sonic Heroes 100% run last week that's probably not such a bad thing.

  10. Going through Sonic games I've either never played properly or never completed. Gonna be with the GBA Sonic's for a while. As much as I'm enjoying Sonic Advance aside from the design of the last zone or two, these Special Stages are SO poor.

I've got no idea how they expect to to figure out the timing on those yellow circles you need to trick through.

      Blue Blood

The special stages are nice idea, but have some of the worst faux-3D that I've ever seen.

Advance 2 has really basic but incredibly fun special stages. It's just a shame that they're such a nightmare to get into.

    2. Joy

Advance 2 is remarkable for how it managed to come up with a Special Stage entry system that is SO against the core design, being far more focussed on speed than its predacessor.

Give the Advance 1 special stages a better sense of depth and I'd honestly have few complaints with the game as a whole. Even the shoddier level design elements I could adapt to with time in the same way Sonic 2 doesn't trip me up much anymore.

I played and beat all three games in my pre teen years. Some of it good, others were not.

Despite their issues I like what they were going for with Adv 1&3 ss. Adv 2 ss on the other hand I don't enjoy.

  11. Took me 15 years but I finally got all A ranks in Sonic Heroes! It's the game that got me into the series so it feels really great to finally complete it! Made a start on Super Hard Mode, seems like it's gonna be a fun change up to send the game off!

  12. As someone who loved Unleashed where Sonic was arguably at his fastest. Am I the only one ironically underwhelmed now by the sense of speed the Boost games provide?

Like I'm not saying he needs to move even faster but the insane speed kinda loses any impact when it's his standard speed for most of the runtime. If there's one thing I love the 3D fan games for it's starting down the top of a slope and that "ohh shit here we go" moment where you can feel the pace transitioning into that crazy "out of control" state.

    1. Diogenes

been saying this for years. a good run through a level in a boost game is so evenly paced that all the "fast" parts blur together and flatten out. combined with the heavy automation it can feel like you're just floating through the levels. a roller coaster-like ebb and flow of speed is more impactful than simply going as fast as they can program the game to handle.

      Vertical Snoop [D.K.]

as a wise old scottish man once said

"When you spend the whole game running at the speed of sound, the speed of sound becomes mundane."

    3. Strickerx5

Can't really say I've ever ran into that feeling. Though that may be because my enjoyment of these games stem from both that and something else working seamlessly together; speed and keeping the flow going. It's why I greatly appreciate that little feature Gens added in where it gives you an over or under time in how you're currently doing in a level compared to your best time. Knowing that I'm performing as well as I can be is a great feeling on top of the fast ride that are the boost games.

Though even then, personally speaking, while I've never run into that numb feeling of speed with these games, I can't imagine it being a worst feeling than what I get from knowing I just entered a platforming only section of a level like in the other games. That's more of a punch in a gut to me saying "the next 20-30 seconds of your life aren't going to be that great nor fun so get over it and maybe we'll throw you some automated tube sequence afterwards."

    4. Joy

Unleashed still mostly gives me the thrills and it's actually for its increased speed and more reflex-built level design that I honestly still think it's the better experience compared to the Colours or Generations (...and Forces). They tried to bring in more platforming and exploration which is great in theory, but is completely at odds with the gameplay style.

I love Unleashed when it turns into an obstacle course where you sidestep, hop drift etc in quick succession whilst everything whizzes past.

  13. Been working away over the summer on my animation showreel, especially now that I've graduated university. Had a couple of exciting conversations recently so hopefully I might be getting into the industry really soon! In the meantime though feel free to check out my newly updated showreel!

    1. Polkadi~☆

Hey, I saw some Ratchet & Clank and Into the Spider-Verse in there... Could this mean what I think it means?

    2. Joy

As exciting as that would be I'm not there quiiite yet! Those are just hobby shots 😅 A little down the line though who knows!

  14. Curious to see the opinions on this. Do you prefer SA1's or SA2's version of It Doesn't matter?

    1. Polkadi~☆

I'm more for the SA2 version.

    2. Red

SA1. The Zebrahead version of His World is a better fast paced song for Sonic.

    3. Forgetful Panda

      Forgetful Panda

It’s hard to decide. I love the bittersweet, emotional tone of SA1 version, but I also believe the upbeat, energetic SA2 version is a better representation of Sonic’s personality.

    4. Marcello

      SA1. SA2's isn't bad or anything, though.

  15. I'll use YOUR- ...CHAOS CONTROL!

    1. Menace2Society

      “This is the ultimate!”

  16. Anybody know if there's a way to transfer Sonic Dash data between android phones? I'm signed into my Google Play Games account on both devices but can't access any cloud saves and kinda don't wanna start from scratch.

    1. KHCast

Shouldn’t you be able to manage all your data to the cloud in the settings? At least that’s how it works for iPhones anyway

    2. Joy

      You would think that right?

But everything seems to be in there EXCEPT any data management stuff it's bizzare!

  17. Would up finally grabbing the BOTW dlc last night so I'm gonna head into my second playthrough later today. See ya in a few hundred hours!

  18. Gonna play through BOTW again soon. For those who got the DLC would you say it'd be worth buying it at the start and exploring that content while I play or should I buy it later once I've beaten the game?

Really just debating whether or not to spend the cash now or later 😅

    1. Diogenes

if you're planning to get it, sooner is better than later. none of the dlc armor can be upgraded and most of it has pretty low defense, so it's more useful early on when you don't have much better

  19. Super hyped for BOTW 2, probably the first time I'll be following the build up to a Zelda release. Been meaning to replay BOTW for a second time since I got it at launch. The sequel reveal's definitely put me in the mood to go get the DLC and dive in.

I definitely missed a TON on my first playthrough so it should keep me busy a good while!

  21. I'm having very hit and miss luck with the AI teammates so far in TSR. Sometimes I can run the race, helping them out as much as possible and they'll keep up but other times I'm having to deliberately fall to the back of the pack to keep an eye on them until they generally buck up their ideas and push towards the front.

    1. DanJ86

I've not had any major problems myself. In fact I've been pretty bad at the game so far but still managed to pull off a win with my team.

  22. Given some of the bombshells they've dropped for the Mega Drive mini's game list, do you think there's any chance they're actually gonna do the impossible and have Sonic 3K on the last batch of games they reveal?

    1. Polkadi~☆

Whoa whoa whoa, temper your expectations.

  23. Evening all. I'm having to make up a bit of cash at the moment so I'm letting a few things go. Before I head for Ebay though, I have a copy of Sonic 1 (Mega Drive PAL) signed by Yuji Naka back in 2016. I'm unsure what value this would have but if anybody in the UK would be interested feel free to message me for pics and info!

    1. Polkadi~☆

I don't think you should sell that, to be honest. That seems like a special item you might like to keep.

    2. DanJ86

I agree with Polk. But if you really must, I'd suggest looking up what kind of value it could have. (I'm not sure how you'd do that, though.) It'd be tragic if you sold it way under it's actual value.

  24. With Spider-Verse out today in the UK here's a shot I blocked-in today whilst I finish off the last of my uni honours work!

  25. For anybody that's been playing Sonic 3 AIR, is there any way to turn off the mini Tails sprite that indicates where he is off screen, or to stop him from flying when double tapping for the instashield? I've been picked up accidentally quite a few times so far.

    1. Thigolf

I didn't even know there was a Mini Tails off screen o:

You can change the way to activate Tails' flying in the options menu. I had it set in the Mania style and never ran into any problems.
