Single Status Update
Just jumping in again with the Unleashed discussions. For me, the game embraced the strengths of the boost formula and focusses on them. Platforming and exploration absolutely take a back seat but instead there's a strong focus on reactionary-based gameplay.
Colours and Generations feel like they try to bring back more traditional platforming elements and for me it's at odds with the formula. The more open level design in Generations also gets made a bit redundant when you're expected to stay at top speed and there's a definitely "best path" for that.
That definitely highlights how inflexible the boost formula is, but taking it for what it is Unleashed played to its strengths.
