    It's project 2017.
Also don't forget that if that list has come from Nintendo they're really funny with what they call a 'launch title'.
With the Wii U and 3DS they didn't ever say launch title, but rather launch window. And that window was often 3 months if not more in some cases.

Happy 10th Anniversary SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006)!
I like the game. Might celebrate this by playing through the PS3 version. (I haven't played the PS3 version yet, but I completed the 360 version)
SEGA should totally mark the 10th anniversary by releasing it on PC! ?

    Day 30 - Favourite Ending

I've quite sure I've spoken about The Walking Dead's ending, and some other people have mentioned Luigi's Mansion 2 and Journey. So going to go with another one of my favourites for this instead. Feel like I'm cheating a little as it was my answer last time, but I do still love it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV26sNl_9T8

If you haven't played NiGHTS then you need to do something about that right now, you terrible person the story goes something like this: Inside our dreams exists another world called Nightopia, where aspects of dreamers' personalities are represented by coloured spheres known as "Ideya." Claris and Elliot are two dreamers who possess the rare Red Ideya of Courage, although when we're first introduced to them they have no idea of what's about to happen or just how courageous they really are... in fact it's quite the opposite. Both kids are feeling like failures after the day's event and in the middle of their own nightmares that are replaying them over.

Claris has dreamed of getting the chance to perform on stage, but she's just messed up her big chance due to a bout of stage fright and lost all her self-belief. Elliot meanwhile, is passionate about basketball and just suffered a humiliating defeat on the court that's done a number on his confidence. But that's when they come across NiGHTS...

It turns out that in the dream world, Wizeman the Wicked has been capturing the dream energy from humans and intends on rising from the subconscious to enter the real world. After learning of his plans from NiGHTS, Claris and Elliot feel a new sense of courage and accept NiGHTS' request to help recapture the stolen Ideya. And so they traverse through the strange dream lands, and while taking on Wizeman and his minions in Nightopia, uncover the courage to tackle the problems they've been facing in their real lives. Claris heads back to the audition and nails it, while Elliot proves himself back out on the court. And it's on his way home (and after you've aced the game) that the scene at the start of this post plays out, and we're treated to a beautiful little moment where both kids come face to face for the first time during Claris' performance and share a lovely little moment that acknowledges the dream they shared together.

Then the credits roll, and we see NiGHTS atop Twin Seeds Tower... ending the game exactly where it began.

There aren't a lot of games that feel quite as magical as NiGHTS and the ending was just a perfect way to wrap up an amazing game. It's just such a nice ending and manages to have such an impact without any words ever being spoken whatsoever.

Appropiate. Remember how I said I'd probably talk on Sonic 06 again at some point? I knew this would pop up. This ending is perfect

I love everything about it. The reminiscent feeling the characters have, how you smile at it even though you probably hate the characters, the look, the lighting, Sonic's playful nature coming out, that touching music track and that final shot. It's a true cinematic ending, I can imagine seeing it in a cinema. Its the best thing to happen in the game. It's been awesome guys!

    Sonic the Hedgehog 2006.

The entire world have been saved as well as time. Sonic and Elise are together around that Flame. Elise doesn't want to forget what she experienced with Sonic, but he convinces her to sacrifice their adventure for the good of the rest of the world and she blows the flame. Then the festival occurs in Soleanna, Sonic is as curious as ever and want to see the event and dashes in the street. His speed generates some wind that takes off a feather from Elise's head, giving her a familiar feeling that she won't remember, while Sonic is on a roof and watches the events.

To this day I still love this ending, it's beautiful, poetic and sad at the same time. The CG is also very good and helps with the emotions.

Sonic Team - because well, we are all on this fan forum for a reason right? But even discounting the many titles starring the blue one himself, they have made some awesome games, all unique and creative and from what I hav played - all fun.

That being said, apart from them (because perhaps they are too obvious a choice)...

...let's go with AM2. Makers of so many Arcade and Console classics, some of which I have never played but their reputation as great games, preceeds them. Wanna know specific reasons why AM2 rock, I'll list a few...

...Virtua Fighter series, Virtua Cop series, Daytona USA series, Outrun series, 18 Wheeler, Virtua Racing, Space Harrier series, Hang-On, After Burner series, Beach Spikers,Dynamite Dux, Outtrigger, Ghost Squad, Fighting Vipers series and Shenmue series...

Along with Sonic Team, they are one of SEGA's long standing heavyweight internal development teams. I think the only other one from their heyday that still exists. Easy to see why though. Consistently good games.

    Day 23 - favourite song...

...well without mentioning Sonic based music (big rock fan and such, I love Crush 40), as per the rules:

Tie between Let's Go Away - from Daytona USA and Dreams Dreams - from NiGHTS.

Let's Go Away is fantastic, so upbeat/uplifting, it totally draws you into the game. It is a brilliant song and works so well, perfect fit for the game. I love the build up with the "Do doo do doo du do doo, duh doooooooooo, DAYTONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Never gets old and it matches the build up of the speed as you accelerate in the car, then when you are driving fast, the song has the same kinda fast pace.

Dreams Dreams - okay yes I know it is soppy/cheesy etc., but it is a beautiful and heartfelt song. Again a great fit for the game. When you play the game and when you understand the story, this song is just so right for the end credits. In a sense the song is telling the story/message of the game through the lyrics and music. Really it is an amazing ballad

This is another toughie when not being allowed to mention Sonic and Co.

I think I will go with one of my favourite classic characters (to make it more interesting I'll also choose a non-SEGA character - but he was on their consoles)...

    ...Cool Spot.

Purely because he is one of the (in my opinion) better mascot characters of that era. I really enjoyed playing as him. His quirky animations and Cool persona. Yeah he isn't particularly deep or anything, but he just looks cool. Back then the fact that he wore Shades and had kind of a constantly smirky expression (much like one of our other favourite heroes) was enough to cement that.

Simple design but it just works. I think he is an easily recognisable character too (as long as you have seen him before)!

Hearing the SEGA sound on the start up sequence of a game

I don't think I should have to explain why to a bunch of fellow SEGA/Sonic fans...but I will as per rules. The Iconic logo appearing with the sound just sorta feels like reassurance of fun/quality in a game, generally exciting, builds the anticipation straight away, and nostaglic when its the classic sounds. It is the sound that lets you escape into a different world and any problems or worries can disappear for at least just a while !

As someone else stated above...SEGA Sammy is the parent company of SEGA!

The casino business is not really the area of SEGA the games company, Sammy deals with this via the provision of Pachinko and Pachilso machines in Japan! Yes they form the company's biggest bulk profit...purely because they are so popular over there and it is from what I can gather, a lucrative business. The lower profits they have experienced with the pachinko/pachilso machines was related to the earthquake tragedy that shook the country a few years ago (3?)! And nothing to do with SEGA the games company's marketing decisions!

As others have also said, free DLC is simply promotion and benefits all parties involved (in this case SEGA and Nintendo) by generating a buzz around their products and getting them good press etc. It also benefits the customers as they feel appreciated for their support!

And I haven't heard about SEGA opening their own casino, but if they did, I am sure they would have thought plenty about the financial implications prior to doing so. If they had done so, and doing so lead to them being in such a dire situation that they couldn't afford to give away a small piece of free DLC then that would be pretty silly!

Furthermore theme parks under SEGA brand exist and have in the past, they haven't stopped the company functioning, and in some cases I am pretty sure that although being under the SEGA brand they were ran by other companies who paid for rights to use the name.

Also, although Sonic is clearly doing fine and won't be causing SEGA financial losses anytime soon, given that the Sammy part of the business is the part that generates the biggest profit, it would be more of a concern if that part of the business was suffering great losses (as stated earlier this happened and they pulled through). So it really isn't all doom and gloom for the company

I think free DLC is a nice thing of companies to do. For SEGA it's a nice nod for the fans and with specific regard to this recent DLC, it also promotes the Nintendo stuff too and their ongoing collaboration! (Which through the Mario and Sonic Olympics series has generated a lot of profits for both sides)!

I understand the reasoning behind this, but it could also put genuine fans who post less in a bit of a rubbish position.

I visit this forum a fair bit, a lot of the time without even logging in, so that I can read stuff and check news etc. I don't always post, but do at times, I'd hate to think I couldn't post a topic for ages purely because I don't always respond to threads created by others...

Surely if someone was trolling or just being a nuisance, then suspending or banning them would suffice.

Also I think that thing about people's personal issues or whatever, being discussed in threads and these threads being restricted is sort of a moot point, because anyone posting stuff like that online, is most often going to be doing so under their username, therefore their real identity is gonna be protected, so theoretically, the hassle they'd get from people being idiots over the internet would be limited in terms of its damage, when you look at it like that (also again if somebody was being disrespectful in that regard, would they not be suspended/banned?). After all these people may want advice or something and just because someone spends a lot of their time (or in some extreme cases nearly every waking moment - not a jibe at anyone, just saying) posting on a forum, does not mean they are automatically going to have better advice or even better opinions than someone who spends larger chunks of their free time doing other things and less time posting.
