  1. I love Mike Pollok's acting but his 'I have no favourites, no fun stories, its just my job and  a pay cheque' mentality is not a fun read.

Agreed. If you're not fully connected or immersed into the character you're playing, what's the point of voice acting?

I dunno, he seems pretty happy.

      Your Vest Friend

The point of voice acting is that you're using your talent to get an income.

I'm sorry, there are all sorts of people in any industry, and I can't see reason to bemoan anyone if they prefer to take a more cordial approach to their job. If anything, my avatar is a recent case where the opposite is true and as a result has concerned me. At least I know with Mike any and all roles are impersonal so no reflection on his own character.

On the other hand, getting too attached to a role will only lead to heartache if or when they get replaced without prior knowledge. It seems that industry is prone to doing that. A bunch of the Mortal Kombat VOs suffered that fate with the latest game.

But I think it's been pointed out that Mike's Eggman has been pretty consistent over the years. Is that a result of his mindset? That can be a problem when goofy "Sonic Boom Eggman" sounds just like evil conqueror "Forces Eggman."
