  1. Sonic Mania opening > Sonic CD opening.

      I disagree.

      Not even close.

It's more colorful, has a better location, shows Tails and Knuckles and other characters, has better music. Everything is better.

    6. Pawn

They're hard to compare when one is like an epic action scene and the other a less linear romp with multiple characters

The CD ending I can agree - is better.

    8. Marcello

Only one of those things describes Mania's opening.

      OK, 2.

    9. Strickerx5

      Animation-wise, yeah

      Everything else... not at all

    10. Mysterion

Half and half on that... On one hand, I love to death the Mega Drive era aesthetics all around in the Mania intro and it's completely bouncy and full of great animation and poppy music. Yet, it feels like it ends so abruptly and feels like there was supposed to be more to it. I also would have liked to Heavies to do a bit more fighting in the intro besides from only Gunner.

CD intro has two fantastic intros with lyrics that I think fit the song/character. I really think Gems Collection upgrade for the intro AND outro are amazing. I really dig Sonic zipping around everywhere and pulling off so many moves. Really shows how acrobatic he is, and I honestly feel that CD does a better job of showing off Sonic's coolness better than Mania, which I think shows off his cocky and playful nature more. CD also just has a better ending in its intro. It feels complete as Sonic runs on the chains up to Little Planet to free it, then you start the level in Palmtree Panic.

Really can't think of any faults the CD intro has to me. If anything, I'm stuck on loving those Mega Drive aesthetics vs loving the overall way the story for CD is presented + how cool Sonic himself looks. Both are amazing intros nonetheless.

    11. Sean

Yeah I don't know if they're comparable either. It's like trying to compare either of them to the Riders opening.

CD's opening and ending sequence are also extremely special to me and helped shaped my impression and love for the Sonic series when I was a child, so I don't think anything can ever replace it for me in my heart.

    12. TheOcelot

Sonic CD's opening tells a more coherent story. Both are good though.

    13. ShroomZed

CD's intro is so carefully constructed with its camera angles and the progression of the whole thing, plus Sonic's extreme fluidity with his model, how he moves, and interacts with the environment in close, and faraway shots makes it stand alone on the peak of Sonic animations. You can pause it at any frame and find something interesting happening, and I'm still finding new things about it watching it carefully.

The way that the first shots of the animation struggle to keep up with Sonic and then can only show him at a distance when he sparks the rainbows really makes him feel massive and almost more as a force than just a character, it really speaks for Sonic and reinforces the rest of the animation as it pans in and out at Sonic either jumping up rocks or going through tubes or whatever. Also the part where Sonic runs up the entire chain in little more than a second and we can't see him anymore is the perfect close to the sequence as now we understand the animation to say as a whole that we had to rush just to see Sonic, he hangs around for a minute, then runs off to the next place at full speed in  similar manner to how the whole thing started, he's got places to go.

    14. Kiah

I don't know about that. I seriously need to think about it as they are both amazing.

I'm honestly leaning towards CD's as it's awesomeness hasn't waned in the slightest in over 20 years from I first saw it in addition to it screaming more "Sonic" to me.

  2. Some people take religion too literally, to the point of being mindless and not accepting diversity. I'm... different, so I think outside the box, even though I'm a Christian, I have my own personal religion.

    1. FReaK

religion is the one thing that has stopped mankind from advancing even further. especially in the dark ages. that's why I dont believe in anything that has not been scientiffically proven.

I think science is overrated personally. And that ateism is hopeless, I could not live without hope of staying with who I love forever... somehow.

    3. FReaK

well, i personally have been through way too much shit in the short 27 years that i live now. my cousin and parts of my family died in a horrible car accident 5 years ago, another cousin died to cancer when she was 18, many friends of mine had a similiar fate. if there really is a 'god' then why the fck does all that shit happen? there is no way i will ever believe in any kind of god anymore. but to each their own i guess.

Yeah, I know a lot of people loses faith for these kind of circumstances. But I refuse to believe that the world was created by random particles. I don't like science either, it makes people snob and arrogant, there is a saying in my city, "you act like a scientist" which means to act like a know-it-all. Not everything that happens in the world can be explained by science, there is also Destiny and paranormal activity.

    5. FReaK

I actually DO believe in paranormal activities. have you ever tried ouija? that stuff actually works..scary.

  3. Sonic Forces - Shadow DLC and new Screenshot

So does that mean there are way more than 11 stages for Modern Sonic (and each character)? Btw, I agree that they're not putting any effort in these stages like they did for the missions in Generations, the Unleashed DLC and the minor acts in Colors, the ones that were gimmicky. They are just an extra.
  4. Sonic Forces Screenshot and Concept Art thread

It's a new stage, the one where Sonic falls into in the story trailer.
  5. Dark Side Story in Forces?

I think this has been deconfirmed now that there is a Shadow only story. Maybe in future DLC we could get Episode Tails or Episode Metal. I still think Tails and Knuckles could be playable in the main game though.
  6. Sonic Forces - Shadow DLC and new Screenshot

I just noticed this, he seems to skip most of the stage and take the upper routes.
  7. Should we wait until Jeffhog tells us what he saw, the rest of the Shadow level? And if it has better sections.

  8. Sonic Forces - Shadow DLC and new Screenshot

At least they gave him a unique ability, I didn't mind the chains from Lost World, it's the charged shot I didn't like, particularly because it made bosses too easy. On the other hand, it's not the full stage, if it's remixed from a modern stage it has to have that open 3D section too, we have seen that in the story trailer. And I'm glad they are challenging.
  9. Sonic Forces - Shadow DLC and new Screenshot

I know why people are never happy, they wanted his gameplay with guns and vehicles back. That would have been perfect.
  10. Sonic Forces - Shadow DLC and new Screenshot

At least they gave us something. I'm hyped, Shadow is one of my favorites and this game's price is cheap so I don't mind some DLC. Now give me playable Tails and Knuckles.
  11. Seriously guys, you are teasing big stuff here (Big the Cat story?), if it's just a boss or a remixed music people are gonna be so disappointed.

    1. LukA8

The mods want the Guinness World Record for largest internet meltdown, hyping this so much more than Sega has. Heck, I'm already kinda disappointed and don't know why. XD

  12. Rate Sonic Mania's Bosses

I think the mini bosses are quite meh, except for the Hard Boiled Heavies ones, those are awesome, and obviously I liked all the Eggman bosses, except maybe for Oil Ocean's, that is a bitch.
  13. incoming message to resistance. decoding

I would say it's playable Shadow, but then there is no point of having a Shadow costume in the game. It's just trolling.
  14. Sonic Forces - Japanese Story Trailer

Metal Sonic is first, fought by Sonic and the Avatar, you can see in the trailer that both of them are at the bridge where the fight takes place; Eggman + Egg Dragoon fought by Classic Sonic; Chaos fought by Sonic, Zavok fought by Avatar, Shadow fought by Classic Sonic, Eggman again fought by Sonic, Infinite fought by Sonic and Avatar, Eggman with the Phantom Ruby fought by both Super Sonics.
  15. Since the theme of the game is teamwork, I believe Infinite will join forces (pun intended) with Eggman for the final boss.

    1. TheOcelot

Infinite will betray Eggman. Infinite  (alone) will be the final boss fight and Eggman will join forces with the Sonic(s) to defeat him.

      you know i'm right.

    2. Dr. Mechano

      Dr. Mechano

That would be cool if it meant Eggman would be playable, but in this game, it doesn't.

So I'm hoping he keeps his main villain spot; Either fighting alongside Infinite as a partner, or him being the one to betray Infinite. Let Eggman show off how cunning and diabolical he is.

    3. Joseph Henry

      Joseph Henry

Nah, I think some kind of plot twist will happen in the second to last stage (The dark mountains place) the resistance will fight Infinite, but somehow Infinite is defeated, loses his mask and the Ruby's possession, turning Infinite back to normal (Probably Eggman gets it), leading up to the final level, that is the new Death Egg, with Eggman with the Ruby's powers as the final boss.

Is a pretty typical RPG plot. But it works!

    4. Jack the Rookie

      Jack the Rookie

I would love an Eggman + Ruby boss fight.
