  1. I just created King Scourge and Bunnie Rabbot in Forces, plus that cat with the scouter from the promotion. Having fun with the Avatars!

  2. A Hypothetical New Team Rose

That is sorta what I did with the Angels, a better name than Team Rose by the way, and the team includes Blaze too.
  3. The comment section on facebook and twitter about this Hulu news is all positive, they are praising the show and asking for a season 3, so that's... actually refreshing to see
  4. Boost Sonic is the only way to make 3D Sonic.

For a second I read "Boom Sonic is the only way to make 3D Sonic" as the thread title.
  5. I've read again that last year SEGA sold Season 2 in over 90 countries, so that's already a success if all these places are airing the show again, I'm just disappointed that it gets a shitty treatment in the US.
  6. Sonic's Angels - cover art

Thank you! I really love his job and wanted to share the cover on this forum. Sadly, when I posted it on reddit, people immediately thought of a story from the dark age of the Archie comics, which I didn't read, I only read the Ian era and the first 50 issues, so I didn't know about it, but this story is completely different. As for the posing, I think at least Amy is dynamic enough, and she's supposed to be at the center because she is the protagonist. I'm really proud for him for this cover.
  7. I would like to see them try to incorporate Shadow in a slice of life comedy episode, and not just having him for big battles, it gets boring after a while. I don't think there is a mandate against that.
  8. Sonic Channel

Uhm... where can we find the new puzzle? The blog is not being updated, but someone found the Infinite puzzle before anyone else.
  9. IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog (coming 2018)

Indeed, the problem is that there were too many characters taking the spotlight, especially in the main book, which focused on Freddom Fighters. That's why game fans used to dislike the main comic and preferred Universe.
  10. IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog (coming 2018)

I don't think Cream was underused in the comic, she had her arcs with Amy and the girls, (Treasure Team Tango, Pirate Plunder Panic), she simply had no place within the Freedom Fighters, who were already too many IMO.
  11. Fire and Ice is so fun, seriously. I want to forget about that Sonic game that just released.

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

I 100%'d F&I. It's playable and better than SC, but I'd stop short of really calling it much fun. The game is easy and bland. It's inoffensive and average throughout.

It's easy but not bland, it's fast, fun, levels are huge and full of exploration, hidden goodies to collect, there are actual boss battles unlike SC, characters skills are used in better ways than in its prequel. I actually thought the challenge rooms were a nice idea to keep the difficulty balanced for new and veteran players. Music and aesthetics are forgettable, I agree, the story is fine. I just wish there was a hard final zone, and not just a boss battle. The minigames, race tracks, and 3D boost levels are nice time wasters too, even though I prefer the main "labyrinth" stages.

The writing did seem to improve compared to SC.

Oof I liked Fire & Ice but I'd take Forces over it any day.  They never really do anything interesting with any of the character/fire & ice switching mechanics, they're all just standard reaction tests and "square peg goes in square hole" puzzles with next to no thought required.

It was a good stopgap game for me, and I too enjoyed it enough to 100% it, but it really didn't feel like it evolved the gameplay from SC that much other than cutting out the frustrating mandatoryness of the exploration.  I'd actually argue it has more scripted "speedy" sections than Forces, and at least Forces' has interesting and exciting visuals during the scripted moments.

Will say the things that stuck with me though were how nice it was to have fully animated and voiced cut-scenes (with NO talking-heads cut-scenes to pad the story out) in a handheld game for the first time ever, and the fantastic music for Tarpit Depths and Perilous Chute.

Fire & Ice is good. The best Boom game with a doubt, but I wouldn't put it over Sonic Forces at all.

IGN also gave it a 7.5 and I agree with it.

    7. Dejimon11

@Izuku Deku Midoriya you realize that being the best boom game really isn't saying much right?

    8. Sean

Still annoyed that the 3DS never got an original mainline Sonic game

@Dejimon11 It's definitely my favorite 3DS Sonic title, but mostly because the others all suck.

Yeah, I realize that. I wasn't really trying to make much out of what I said about it being the best. Think of it as a throwaway line.

  12. Sonic Forces Development Speculation (Spoilers)

I think this has something to do with console transition, they needed a new engine for the next generation, and would have had to wait 2-3 more years of development to make a game out of it, so they just said "whatever, let's make a fan service fest in one year and release it". I really don't like this decision, it's also true that I couldn't resist without a main Sonic game for a long time, but I would have liked more spin-offs instead of this, would have been pretty good. I'm sad because I liked the concept of Forces but I just don't find it fun to play sadly, it's a pity for me. But I'll be happy if it sells well, since I always support Sonic, and it seems it's doing well enough in sales, they will probably never learn to take their time but without money, there's no budget for the next game, I think. It's sad because Sanzaru and SEGA took their time with Fire & Ice and it turned out to be a fine game, better than Forces IMO, it's very fun and criminally underrated. So I'm just gonna replay that, and Mania of course. More Sonic for me
  13. It's not the franchise, characters can have backstories and motivations, but it would really feel off in a children comedy show. Am I the only one who thinks this way? Shadow already doesn't fit in the show, he is just fanservice.
  14. I agree, but what about Sticks? She gets even less moments and lines to shine. I know she's not as important as Amy, but both girls are being treated poorly in my opinion. She deserves to stay in the Sonic universe, even after Boom ends, she's such a precious and unique character. Anyway, the season finale I thought was pretty good, but I would have preferred to see more plot, but the 2 Eggmen crisis was interesting. I have to say... I kinda like Shadow as a full villain, but obviously he needs motivations, not just a shallow enemy, I doubt a complex villain would work on a comedy show though. The action was very good, WAAAY better than last season's finale. I hope there is a third season, because if the show gets cancelled we'll have to wait a long time before a new Sonic cartoon gets announced. Also, so Lord Eggman is basically a Sith? He fights with a lightsaber. I thought that was pretty cool.
  15. Why do they say the cartoon is gonna be cancelled soon? Also, I meant season 2 coming to Netflix in more countries, currently it's only available on Boomerang.
