  1. Venture Bros., Metalocalypse, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force are all returning for feature length films. https://deadline.com/2021/05/adult-swim-movies-for-aqua-teen-hunger-force-metalocalypse-the-venture-bros-1234754652/ I wish we got new seasons, but this is better than nothing.

  2. I got my mom an Alex Kidd mug for Mother's Day. It's one of the few games she had as a kid, so I figured it'd be neat.

  3. I had a ton of fun watching Scott Pilgrim in theaters fully vaccinated for my birthday... but my parents got me a Captain Lou Albano shirt, and that's one of my favorite presents I've ever received.

  4. I haven’t bought a Pokemon game in over a decade, but I’m having a lot of fun with New Pokemon Snap!

Is it really so much fun? I've been on the fence about buying it. I think I'd get bored easily but I am watching videos and there is really so much personality, other than pretty graphics, it's the whole premise of the game that is kind of dull.

    2. Winston

      Winston

I'm really liking it so far even if the premise is a bit dull. I liked the original Snap a lot too. I think the game has a lot of personality in a lot of different ways, and I think taking pictures of Pokemon and being able to upload what you take online is pretty cool and fun to see what other people have to offer. It's certainly not for everyone, but I like it a lot from what I've played of it.

I think they seem pretty alive and expressable from what I've played so far. I'm no Pokemon expert though so I don't know if anything they do is really super notable compared to other games, but I like seeing them run around the environment and react to things going on, or some of them falling asleep and yawning.

  5. I really hope that Crash doesn't die off again. I waited so long to have him return. I'll be devastated.

@mayday2592I remember when people said the same thing regarding the WFC series before Activision mercilessly killed that.

  6. Falcon and Winter Soldier Spoilers for Ending

    Spoiler

I wasn't really necessarily the biggest fan of that show's ending either, but it wasn't as bad as Wandavisions. Sharon Carter being the Power Broker makes very little sense considering how she was constantly doing shit that would hurt her. Just strange stuff. I liked Falcon's arc though, and enjoyed seeing him finally become Captain America. The Isaiah Bradley stuff also worked extremely well too, his moments being the best part of the show, and him going to the museum at the end was such an incredible moment. So glad that happened.

It's just too bad that the Flagsmashers were such awful villains. Karli or whatever her name was was so one note, and I find it odd how Falcon refused to fight her when she has killed and tried to kill so many people, but when Walker killed one guy, he immediately fought him for not handing over the shield. I get that was done so he could become Captain America more than anything, but it just seems weird he wouldn't at least try to hold her back in some way. Karli just wasn't a very likable character, although I can understand what the show was going for with the message. I just thought it kinda fell flat because of the underdevelopment of the characters, especially with how Karli just gets shot immediately and says sorry, then dies. Like what?

Over-all, I'd say the show was quite good for Falcon, Zemo and Walker. I'm surprised Walker got somewhat redeemed in the end, working with the good guys to stop the Flagsmashers. I really liked that actor, and I think he did great with Walker. I feel bad for him simply for the pressure that got to him with being Captain America, and how the government basically just used him as a mascot despite the huge shoes he had to fill in along with his PTSD. The politicians were real pieces of shit. I don't think Walker is necessarily redeemed for killing that Flagsmasher like that, but it's not like other heroes in the MCU don't kill people. He just did it in a far more disgusting and emotional way. It's kinda hard to fully analyze his character, whether he was one worthy of redemption or not, but I think that makes him so much of a better character for it and a highlight of the show. It was also great to actually have development of these side characters. I felt Bucky was good, but really didn't matter much. I think that's fine for the most part, as Falcon becoming Cap was the biggest part of the show, and I thought they did good on delivering on that promise. The interactions of Falcon and Bucky were at least entertaining at the bare minimum.

    2. Winston

It was alright. I thought it was somewhat disappointing, as I thought some characters needed more development, but it wasn’t as bad as the Wandavision finale. It was entertaining at least and the action was good though.

Why the fuck is Sharon Carter suddenly evil what the hell.

That's my main gripe because it feels like out of nowhere EVEN with the foreshadowing included in the Power Broker episode.

  12. Bowser Time.

  13. I've been watching DOOM Patrol and enjoying it a lot. It's very mean spirited, but a lot of the characters are all good. It also has some legitimate emotional moments despite how goofy it can be, and it somehow works. I also like seeing Brendan Fraser again.

  14. It's not always cool to be cool.

  15. Got my first COVID shot today. Feeling great! I can't wait to get the second dose. Scott Pilgrim also re-releases on my Birthday week and by then I should be fully vaccinated! Probably the most excited I've been in a long while.

  16. I'm playing Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and this game is a lot better than I remembered. I never beat it on Wii U for some reason but I'm really enjoying it now. I don't know if it'll ever top the first Pikmin to me, but it's super addicting.

  17. What's your favorite Nintendo handheld? I'd probably have to say the DS in my case. I loved the GBA and 3DS, but I think the system I played the most out of them all was probably DS.

    1. Azure Blue Tori

      Azure Blue Tori

I'm still impressed by the sheer scale and variety of the DS's library, so I agree. Pre-COVID, I used to go to the local used games shop to try out new games because they were so cheap.

    2. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

I never would've gotten any other Nintendo beyond the N64 if it weren't for the DS. 3D quality games that I could bring anywhere was something I never knew I needed till it was bought right before me. It really helped keep me occupied and helped me unwind after my early years of school.

GBA, it was the last time Nintendo gave you the option to play your handheld games on the TV.

    5. Iko

      Iko

It's a close fight between GBA and GB, but I think I'll go with the huge stone brick that original Game Boy was.

GBA was a portable SNES kinda, and had many games which I loved, but the GB had some masterpieces such as Super Mario Land 2, the original Wario Land and Zelda Link's Awakening.

It's not just that, awesome games were on all Nintendo consoles... it's also that the battery lasted for weeks, and it was very resistant to damage, plus the screen looked very cool (though my favorite GB screen is the one of the pocket version, sadly mine got a line of dead pixels a couple of years ago). The back surface of the screen was kinda sparkling at the light and each pixel had a very tiny shadow, so that even if the games were 2D, it still gave them a weird sense of depth... emulators can't recreate that effect sadly.

And the most impressive thing of the gameboy is the amount of different games with such a limited hardware... sometimes I still discover a new hidden gem that I didn't know of.

  18. I wish Nintendo did more of the NES Remix style of games. Whether it mean SNES or GameBoy Remix, or NES Remix games with third party titles included.

  19. The final boss of Sonic's story in '06 was laughably awful. Good luck trying to hit one of those bomb boxes or whatever they are with how awful the camera is and how the controls seem to have a mind of their own and jerk you all over the place.

    1. Blacklightning

      Blacklightning

I had more trouble with Silver's, honestly. Mostly because the game doesn't make it clear that you can catch a projectile that big.

    2. Jack-al

      Jack-al

Tbh isn't most of that game laughably awful, in how it turned out at least.

    3. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

@Blacklightning Yeah, I definitely had the same problem. It's a 1HKO that's not clear how to dodge. And what makes it extra egregious IMO is that you won't ever get hit by it if you know you can catch it. All you have to do is hold down the "catch" button and it literally cannot hit you.

The Egg Wyvern at the end of Sonic's story is mostly just poorly programmed. Its fine in theory, but falls victim to 06 belonging in the trash overall.

  20. Getting the first dosage of the COVID shot on Thursday. Seems pretty unreal still that it's actually almost here.

  21. Zack Snyder's Justice League wasn't nearly as awful as I was expecting. I'm not a Snyder fan myself, but I do like DC Comics. The only Snyder movie I actually like was Watchmen, and even that has it's flaws. This movie is about the same as Man of Steel to me, a little mediocre/okay with some edgy elements that just really feel out of place. Some of the scenes had me laughing at how "epic" they were going for. I think what helps it stand apart from something like Batman v. Superman is the fact it has a bit of a simpler plot. I do think the run time was a little unnecessary though, especially for that ending scene that felt like it had real no purpose and it was a little jarring lol. It's not for everyone, and I'd only really recommend it for people that watch every DC movie or are huge fans of Snyder's work.

    1. Wraith

      Wraith

If they cut it down to 3 hours I'd probably think it was good. as it is now it's still way too bloated but the story at least makes sense and most of the cast is in character/a decent homage to their history. it's comparable to one of those direct to video DCA movies now

  22. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still so disappointing to me.

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

      I regret buying a copy.

    2. Winston

      Winston

Same. I probably should've waited a few years to buy it, just to see if it'd eventually get all the features it's missing from the other Animal Crossing games. I guess terraforming or whatever it's called is nice if you like making the island your own, but I don't really play Animal Crossing for that. And even if I did, there's a certain point to where even that would get boring. Even GameCube and DS felt like it had more for me to do, but maybe that was just me being a kid. It's easily more boring than those games to me.

    3. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

I don't think that additional features that were in previous games would have changed my opinions on the game. It's boring and annoying.

    4. Winston

      Winston

It probably would have changed mine. I don't mind the idea of this game taking place on an island you need to build up too much, I just hate how the updates are slowly adding in things that were already in previous titles. It was never going to be my favorite game in the series, but I wouldn't have been nearly as disappointed in it if the game had the features of the previous titles already in base and they added brand new things over time through updates. I also hate how a lot of the characters in the other games are just flat out missing.

    5. Waveshocker Sigma

      Waveshocker Sigma

I have enough fun with it since I don't concern myself with building my island past 3 stars and just go in for a few days in a week and enjoy shenanigans with my cute neighbors. That said, I do wish there was a lot more to do like in the older games. If I didn't have a great set of characters on the island, I probably wouldn't even be playing it again since I was gone from it for 4 months.

    6. Sapphirine Wind

      Sapphirine Wind

As much as I like the game, I really don't blame you. It's missing so much from the past games, the amount of dialogue you have to go through for one option is exhausting, and connecting to someone in the same room is so. freaking. touchy.

Why holding a tool keeps someone from going to your island is beyond me.

I like it. But it is not without flaws.

  23. I'm happy that my entire state will apparently have access to the COVID vaccine on March 29th. That's a lot earlier than I expected.

    1. Jovahexeon The Undyne

      Jovahexeon The Undyne

Man, I'm glad I graduated when I did (spring last year).

  25. Crash 4 still has it's extreme difficulty when it comes to fully completing the game, but the better load times on PS5 and fixed hitboxes for the ridable animals make it less annoying. It only take a few seconds to load into a level from what I can tell, making it not as aggravating to retry whereas the PS4 version was like 20 or 30 seconds on some levels. Granted, I had the base launch day model PS4 so maybe I just suffered more than others. Don't know if Pro was any better. I just wish they'd give us the Crash Dash back and not require Platinum Relics...

Meanwhile, I'm stuck waiting because Acti fucked up digital upgrades.

    2. Jovahexeon The Undyne

      Jovahexeon The Undyne

Even with those changes made....completing the game is still BS, with or without a guide (which you'll likely need to save your sanity).
