  1. I thought 3D World vs SLW would be the worse blowout for Sonic by a Mario game but Forces vs Oddessy is way worse because Oddessy looks better then 3D World and Forces looks worse then SLW so its a double whammy

Forces has to deal with even more of a double-whammy. It's not only going to be unfavorably compared to Mario, but also to another better-received Sonic game, Mania.

Releasing a mere two weeks after Odyssey is pretty bad timing, either way.

The thing is that Odyssey and Forces are totally different games at this point

      Well, sure.

But to the general gaming public, they're still two mascot platformers, and they're still going to be compared regardless.

      "Forces Looks worse than SLW"

      lol no

I appreciate SLW trying to pull off something new and kinda messing up over Forces retrading old ground and  being it worse in every single regard.

SLW had enemies who actually did things other just stand there, so I mean...

SLW's entire level list is based on the same over-used themes that we've seen time and time again in Mario games: "Grass", "Desert", "Sky", "Lava Fortress"  etc.

At least Forces is based on the same over-used themes that we've seen time and time again in Sonic games.

at the end of the day though, one has new levels and another does not.

I mean... I like Lost World and all but... It's really like the black sheep in regards to Sonic Team Modern Sonic games from 2008 to current, and it's hard for me to see Forces being worse than Lost World to a degree for me...

Which one? Do you consider the levels in LW as new? NEW Super Mario Bros, you mean.

What about the blue city from Forces? The mechanical base? The space port? The jungle? the locations we haven't seen yet?

Ah yes, because Lost World had amazing levels such as:

      Windy Hill

      Windy Hill with Sand

Windy Hill at the Beach (So with less sand and some water)

      Blue Windy Hill with Ice

      Windy Hill with More Grass

      Windy Hill with More Clouds

      Optional Acid Trip Zone

      ...And Lava Mountain.

Truly, the greatest and most original levels we've ever seen in a single game

Argue scemantics, neither option is favoriable, im just saying one tried a little harder.

And caling levels like Desert Ruins and SIlent Forest Windy Hill recolors is pretty lughabe on its own.

Not really considering that most other people do the same since each world has one or two levels that are mostly just "Windy Hill again, but this part changed" or "The tunnel again but slightly different".

Forces has some familiar and samey stuff, but it at least tries to make it look and feel different from each other. When Playing Lost World, on the other hand, I constantly felt like i was wasting time doing the same stupid shit over and over again and that wasn't fun because I already strongly despised the game from the start.

Sonic Forces looks like Sonic 3 & Knuckles to me when compared to Lost World. It's the only 3D game I actually actively dislike and feel like was a waste of my money, so we're not even gonna debate on this one. As far as I'm concerned, Forces may have it's problems, but it's still way better and more interesting than Lost World.
