Well, that was something. A little off-beat in terms of trailer editing, but...okay. *shrugs* I mean, the absolute worst thing about it to me was that song in the beginning, but otherwise...I got no overwhelming feelings on this, and I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I like how this guy wants to know if Shadow is in the game and Aaron Webber tells him to "stay tuned", but then immediately after Amy says, "Listen up! Shadow has been sighted!"

This is not only insulting it's fucking pathetic.
Iizuka has done a lot of good since being in the role of head of Sonic Team, not too mention he's apparently quite hands on with a lot of the work that goes on in the development team too.

    Precisely.
Let's be honest, Iizuka and Sonic Team all have a very checkered record. I've got my own grievances with them and don't have a great deal of trust that they can consistently deliver what I want. But there's a line that's being crossed here that is very unfair and inappropriate.

Deliberate design choices can still be bad design choices.

The West Coast going blue doesn't really matter, unfortunately.
If Clinton doesn't pick up Michigan or Wisconsin, that's it. This is over. Trump wins barring an insane upset somewhere else.

While I'm as giddy as ever over the fallout of this incident, let's reflect on the fact that admitting to sexual assault on tape was the thing that started up an actual firestorm and for some Republican leaders to finally grow a backbone.
Not the numerous misogynistic remarks that were a neon sign for these sentiments, not forcing a woman to be a weight-losing sideshow to the media, not admitting to tax evasion on live TV, not admitting to the systemic redlining of black people on live TV, not calling Mexican immigrants rapists, not characterizing all black people as living in violent ghettos, not the rampant support for stop and frisk, not trying to get five black boys thrown in jail over a crime they didn't commit, not calling a Hispanic judge unqualified for being born Hispanic, not the amount of outright theft done by his dubiously-legal charities, not the amount of times he's filed for bankruptcy and paid people off despite him running his platform partly on his "business sense," not the praise of Putin's leadership, not the dubious business ties to Russian territories, not the wall idea, not the idea to get people to pay for us to uphold treaties, not him shrugging his shoulders at nuclear proliferation.
It was an 11 year old tape where he was being his usual sleazy self that started this. And on top of that you have a bunch of his male supporters showing their asses and saying "I've said/done worse." All this has proven is that the deplorable comment wasn't fucking wrong.

I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I feel keeping expectations low works out for everyone regardless of the outcome - if it's crap you have the catharsis of knowing you didn't invest much in it anyway, and if it's good it comes as a nice surprise. Or as Yahtzee puts it:

The word resistance makes me a little optimistic for the fate of the other characters. I know it's complete speculation, but I feel like they'll have more of a role than glorified cheerleaders. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation; the tone definitely seems different than Colors and Generations, which is something I can't complain about at all.

That's right, a dad has banned his daughter from playing Mario & Sonic Rio 2016 because Shadow sounds like he's saying a certain very bad word when he fails to score in the Football minigame.
Not exactly news, but it made me laugh at least. Shadow really takes missing a shot seriously!

Even if enough people decide to be the modern day hippies and vote for a 3rd party to stick it to the establishment, it won't mean a thing.
The Republican and Democrat parties are too large and ubiquitous to get a 3rd party the 270 electoral votes one needs to secure victory. But, if the 3rd party candidate gets enough votes to prevent any one of them from getting 270....then, like the election of 1825, the vote goes to the current House of Representatives.
You know, the obstructionist GOP-controlled House that has been blocking Supreme Court picks for months and caused a government shutdown.
Keep that in mind before thinking your 3rd party vote is going to be that impactful.

The absolute mathematical fact is that we live in a voting system that trends towards two- and only two- outcomes in any given large-scale election after enough of them have come to pass, meaning until we change our voting system to a more proportional system, then your only choice if you don't get your perfect candidate is to vote strategically. If Hilary isn't getting votes, then the only thing that happens is that Trump closes the gap on her. If enough people who would have otherwise voted for a Democratic ticket decide to abstain or vote for third parties this cycle, then Trump wins the presidency. A Green Party candidate isn't winning this shit.
And people pressure others to vote for the best outcome because policy has lasting, real-world effects on living human beings. This isn't a vote equivalent to whether or not you want burgers or tacos tonight, which is the same short-sighted, lackadaisical attitude that led to Brexit. We're voting on someone who is going to affect our relationships with other countries and subsequently world and economic stability, who is going to elect Supreme Court justices that may or may not repeal women's health rights, voting rights, and gay rights, who is going to have the power to enact executive orders for a whole bunch of things that we cannot directly control.
The fact is that the choice entitled white folks who are used to getting their political way and immature anti-establishment types are battling with right now for some weird reason is either a stable-to-progressive-ish America under an actual politician or an unstable, more oppressive wildcard America under a racist shitty businessman, either of which we will have to deal with for the next 20+ years. You better believe there's some pressure right now on people to just bite the bullet and do the smart fucking thing, and if people don't understand that and we hand this presidency off to Trump, I don't want anyone who suffers from it but still didn't vote for Hilary to bitch about it. You get what you vote for.

Okay, not much time right now, but calling it:
This will not be Sonic Generations 2. This is a red herring. Classic Sonic isn't a co-star or main character, but an "assist" or "partner" character, among other favorite Sonic characters that you can rescue or recruit over the course of the adventure to join your "resistance" against Dr. Eggman, and Classic Sonic in particular only features in the trailer for nostalgia reasons and in the story because in his conquest, Eggman royally mangled space-time, so he's along for the ride to help undo this disaster. Other characters like Silver and Blaze can also feature because of said space-time shenanigans. Sonic will be the only directly playable character, but other characters will always be able to tag along with Sonic for extra moves, similar to certain missions in Sonic Generations, such as Knuckles' medal hunting or Tails' flight assist abilities and Rouge's lewd exhibitionism to Egg Pawns.
Just my theory. As for the actual gameplay, bear in mind that in addition to the slide and boost, Modern Sonic was also spin-dashing and making other "classic" Sonic noises. If Sonic Generation's teaser trailer is any indication, the sound effects and visible moves could indicate how the game plays. Could be the boost with a spin-dash added. Could be a return to the Adventure formula. Maybe Lost World again.
Could be something entirely new (like Iizuka said).
Who knows. Either way, Iizuka stated that this would be a "new experience."
    Have fun speculating, y'all.

IIRC, the first Generations gameplay trailer came out about a week after the teaser, so it's possible we won't have to wait that long to see the first bits of the game.
