Sorry for the double post, but here are a list of level ideas created by...me. Beware, though, this document is quite long.

    Here is one from me.
    Neighborhood Rush Zone
This takes place in the outskirts of a city, and in a neighborhood area filled with houses, some parks, some buildings and many other things. Sonic will have to rush through the neighborhood on his adventure to stop the evil Dr. Eggman. Though it is a bright sunny day, and while there are cars, you won't see any human being in this zone. Strange enough, but what the hey. It does seem happy around here, but watch out, for Dr. Eggman has laid some traps for Sonic to deal with!
The level is kind of like this little level here.
Sonic mainly runs down the roads that make up the neighborhoods past the houses. Sonic will have to avoid cars as he goes by this neighborhood area. There are some areas where Sonic comes in from one side of a house and out the other end. These are usually short sections. However, there are big houses Sonic runs through. They have stairs Sonic can run up and tables Sonic can vault over. Sonic can also use the roofs to get around if he is able to.
There are park areas in this zone too. Sonic the Hedgehog comes by swings, which he can move and use to swing higher to gain goodies in the air. Sonic also comes across slides that he can slide down, as well as other playground equipment in the area such as a jungle gym, monkey bars and such. There are also picnic areas Sonic goes by at quick speed. Sonic also goes through sandbox areas and can climb up some of the trees.
There are water fountains Sonic can jump onto to be blasted upward to get to goodies that may be in the air. There are futuristic apartments Sonic passes by, which may have pools that Sonic can jump into to find goodies! There are bridges Sonic will have to run over, and there are also fences outside that Sonic will have to jump over. The parks may also have small baseball/soccer fields, basketball or tennis courts Sonic runs by. In the basketball courts, Sonic gets 5 rings if he can shoot himself into the bucket.
    What do you all think?

Okay, so then why bring up another, much worse situation, where a bunch of people taking it directly to the publisher is what got things to change? I'm not even denying that you should be able to express your opinion, just that being respectful to others in the process is kinda necessary. I should know, I've had issues with it myself.
Please show me where I've said anything remotely similar to this, then talk about "twisting words". I'm not excusing this, I'm saying that "calm down" and "settle for stupid decisions" aren't synonyms, yet for some reason there continues to be this expression that any reaction but over-the-top hatred for Sonic Team is somehow compliance with any problems they cause. It's a problem bigger than just this DLC or even Forces as a whole, and I'm personally sick of it.

Your comment was about how being civil here won't make things better. The point is that nothing here is going to do much of anything to the franchise, so it's worthless to pretend there's any justification for not simply calming the fuck down.

Ah yes, because EA changed their microtransactions after reading small dedicated forums and seeing how much people were arguing with each other. After all, we know SEGA's executives read the archives here all the time, right?

That's what I said, it might take a more consistent, as in ongoing effort to make things happen. I suppose it's not unnatural to be disappointed or upset to some degree, but overly angry as some people I have seen were, that is another story. You can be reasonable, calm, polite and civil even when angry. It is not that hard. Plus, even as bad as it possibly was, it was still nothing to get THAT worked up over. It was still a simple, small thing regardless.

CrystalStorm51 got a reaction from Crow the BOOLET in My ideas on how to improve the boost.
I decided to share my ideas on how to improve the boost gameplay, which I love personally, by the way. Now I know some people don't like the boost at all, and would prefer it not to be in the series, and I don't think these ideas will change those people's minds about the boost. Regardless, I would like to share these ideas with you all, whether or not you are a fan of the boost. So, without further ado, here we go. I have three ideas, by the way.
    1. You know how you accelerate to top speed with the boost by a press of a button? Well, this idea makes it so that you don't need to hold down the boost button to maintain momentum. Just press the boost button, let go, keep holding forward and you'll still have momentum and speed as you go along. This allows for running through loops and on walls or down hills (provided they aren't scripted), all without the boost. It would also be possible to gather and maintain momentum without the boost altogether, but should you press the boost button, you don't need to constantly hold it down to keep your momentum, thus you can do momentum based stuff like in the classics without constant boost. You might go faster without the boost even if you are skilled and able to maintain momentum while avoiding obstacles. You obviously don't get the invincibility with the boost, by the way.
    2. In terms of having the boost mode from Sonic Advance 2, Sonic can have boost mode while boosting, but only when the boost button is held down. When not held down, whether the boost button is tapped or not pressed at all, the player will just need to hold forward for a certain time, and after that, the player enters boost mode and continues until an obstacle is hit or when an enemy hits Sonic, or if Sonic slows himself down. Sonic still gains momentum, whether by just holding forward or by tapping the boost button once, but it will take some time either way to achieve boost mode.
    3. Now, with the boost, Sonic would accelerate to a high speed. Not a maximum speed, but high enough. Sonic would accelerate instantly when using the boost, and he'd maintain the same speed as long as he is boosting. He could also reach that high speed by hitting a dash pad.
However, for running to build up speed, and rolling, and perhaps spin dashing, that is a different story. The following applies to building speed or even rolling, especially down hills in the case of the rolling. When Sonic builds up speed, the player will notice accelerating effects seen as Sonic runs forward through the level. This acceleration would not be noticed when the boost is used. When Sonic reaches max speed, he can run as fast as he can in boost mode. But when running or rolling down ramps and hills, either way, Sonic would accelerate quickly as he runs down them, like how the rolling worked in the classic games. Sonic will not only accelerate faster, but when he is going down those ramps and hills, he can even speed up to a speed faster than the speed Sonic goes while boosting!
So, basically, while the boost is still fast, the accelerating and speed done when NOT boosting would feel more rewarding, and perhaps more thrilling. Unlike when not using the boost, Sonic goes the same speed, even when going down hills.
I know this may seem complex to some, but I figured, in regards to these ideas, that with the boost being tap-able and not needed to maintain speed, and mixing some momentum based mechanics from the classic games, those who want one of both, everyone wins. Well, almost everyone, maybe. This doesn't cover scripted/automatic sections altogether, but that is a different story for another time in terms of ideas of how to fix them.
So, what do you guys think?

Next game should ditch the fake console limitations, pixel art or not. Limiting the game's capacity for the sake of nostalgia needs to die. As pretty as Mania is, they could have done much more with the graphics, more frames of animation for example.

While I wouldn't say I'd want it to look exactly like MM11, I do think it would be helpful for future 2D-Classic efforts to throw off the "retro" label.  I absolutely believe that retro-style graphics can be a legitimate aesthetic choice, and have little time for the view that all games should be at the bleeding edge of graphical power - but I would like a 2D Sonic game which can convince people that it is something more than a throwback to twenty years ago; I want 2D Sonic to be the true Modern Sonic.  And I think that will probably require an enhancement to the Mania approach, whilst retaining its understanding and evocation of the detail-rich pixel art of days gone by.  Doesn't have to be 3D or even 2.5D by any means; HD, hand-drawn, or just slightly higher-resolution with stylistic tweaks would be fine.  This is essentially what MM11 is doing; they did their retro throwbacks, and they were good, and now they're making a game which couldn't have been made thirty years ago.

Apparently they filed a new trademark for a Smash game. We might see it in the Direct yet.

For those who don't know what twitch gameplay is...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitch_gameplay

It is basically gameplay that tests the reaction time of the player. This was heavily in Sonic Unleashed HD, in the daytime stages to be exact. It did give a feel of a fast sense of gameplay. Does anyone else miss that form of gameplay and the challenge that came with it from daytime Sonic Unleashed HD?

I know I do. I thought the twitch based gameplay gave more challenge and a sense of speed. I really enjoyed it in Unleashed HD, and it wasn't really there in Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations and now Sonic Forces. I think those games could have been better with such gameplay and challenge to go along with it. What about you guys? I can't be the only one who misses that kind of gameplay.

Yes please, boost gameplay is honestly at its best when your linking actions and moves together the way that they did it with unleashed, I've basically been wanting that back ever since that game and i'd be more than happy having more levels like some of those extra acts come back in the future.

CrystalStorm51 got a reaction from Jar Jar Analysis 1138 in Sonic Forces Impressions Thread
So, now that the game is out, and many of us have played it, what are your impressions of Sonic Forces?
I will personally post mine, soon. In the meantime, tell me your thoughts and impressions on the game.
    EDIT: My impressions.
For gameplay, I enjoyed all three styles of gameplay. Modern Sonic was the best for me, and Avatar was fun as well. I liked Classic Sonic as well, but he did have issues, such as controls and physics. His jump was a bit too difficult at times, and his rolling could have been better. The physics for Classic Sonic were hard at times, like in Casino Forest. The controls for avatar and Modern Sonic were off at times, too, as there were some parts where I kept falling off the stage in the 3D racetrack like parts. Still, everything else was good. I liked that you couldn't boost to win. Speaking of boost, I loved the fast paced Double Boost, which was quite fun. The Wispons took some getting used to, but they were good to use in the end. The bosses were good as well, and I loved the final boss, as it was epic and fun. There could have been a bit more challenge to the gameplay, though.
The visuals were great, and were pretty to look at. Enough said.
The story was good as well, and I liked it all the way through. The final parts, especially the final boss, were all epic. I liked the dialog, even if it wasn't that special, and I liked the roles each character had in this game. Infinite seemed like an interesting character, and I liked how Classic Sonic and the Phantom Ruby was included, even if Classic Sonic was unnecessary. I liked the friendship part and the teamwork thing, too. It reminded me of Sonic Heroes. Overall, I say this was one of the best stories in a while.
The levels were fine, if a bit short, and the level design did usually have lots of alternate paths. Not too many, but good enough in amount. The levels themselves were not perfect in design, and they could have been better, but they were passable at the least. I liked some of the gimmicks in the levels, especially Classic Sonic's Death Egg Zone, with all those throwback gimmicks. There could have been more meat to them, though. I did like the 3D corridors, though, as it was fun to speed through them. Also, though not exactly level design based, the enemies were improved with the day one patch, as they moved faster, which is a plus, and they could be a problem if I wasn't careful. Maybe I need to be better with the enemies, but they were faster in acting at the least.
For music, I loved the music, and I loved the Avatar stage music as well. The music was sometimes like from Megaman X, which was a good thing, and the song lyrics for each song did well for me. I liked Fist Bump and Light of Hope, the ending theme, and I liked listening to the music in some of Classic Sonic's stages, and Modern Sonic's stage music was pretty good as well. Overall, I liked the music, especially the music tracks with lyrics.
But there was something missing, in the end. Maybe it is that the game could be longer as well as the levels, or the speed based challenge like in Unleashed, but whatever it was, it would have made the game more fun if it was included.
    Overall, I give this game a 7 or 7.5 out of 10.
