CoffeeGrunt got a reaction from Scott in Do you feel that lives are an archaic concept?
Lives are a relic of the arcade days.

Lives plus cheap, one-shot-kills equals angry teenagers pouring money into machine to continue. They present no real challenge, just a method of farming money quick and easy. They stayed when we moved to home entertainment, but then better systems and ideas came about.

I still prefer health bars/health a la Half Life to regenerating Wolverine healing like CoD...

In Half Life, you run into a situation, you're stuck with being careful and dealing with your massacred health until you stumble on healthkits. Some of the best sequences in my FPS experience are moments where these are practically drip-fed to you, and it creates massive tension in trying to find and scour places for some more.

Meanwhile in CoD, I can just pop up from a barrel, eat lead, recharge health by the power of American patriotism, and repeat.

Mine was somewhat similar...halfway through the Friendship Parade in the first episode, I was gunna kill it...

But then Apple Bloom appeared, and I stayed for brunch.

CoffeeGrunt got a reaction from eXtaticus in Samsung & Apple Go To War
Hmmm, Apple were constantly used as the nicer opponent to Microsoft...but now they've become Microsoft. But at least Microsoft was bluntly forward in its under-handed court cases. Apple seems to work on pulling obscure and wishy-washy patents out of its ass...

Seriously, Samsung are a better company by far in general. I've dealt with Apple reps at work, they're cunts. Samsung reps? Rare, but great guys. Apple tripped over success with the iPod through pure marketing and teenage peer pressure. Is it the best on the market? Is it fuck, the Sony Walkman wipes its ass with the new Nano.

Multi-touch screen...1 inch wide. Wasn't the main draw of iPods ease-of-use?

Good evening gentlecolts, I see Toronado has been saying nice things about me on here.

Just thought I'd pop in to say thanks for the positive reviews of my fics. Haven't actually played a Sonic game since the one I had on...either a Sega or Dreamcast, can't remember which. All I remember was that it was awesome. That being the case, I doubt I'd be much fun to talk to on here.

Toro will happily explain why. Someone innocently reviews I Won't See You Tonight on the GTPlanet brony thread, I pop in to say thanks, then lo and behold, I'm still there nine-hundred posts later.
