  1. Silver fits, but I never really liked Bryce Papenbrook's acting, and it's still pretty bland here. Knuckles sounds so strange. I know he's trying to sound like Travis Willingham, but there's an extra dopey-ness that just doesn't sound right. Blaze is pretty alright.

    Mega Man

Mega Man sounds like a deep voiced guy trying to be a kid. Oof. It's like HJO on Sora. Dr. Light sounds fine, though. Keith Silverstein is a good actor, but I wish they could've gone with an older guy for Wily. The Japanese voices are on point, though.
  3. The vocal themes in the Avatar stages give me life.
  4. Can someone send me the link so I can see whatever you guys are talking about for Shadow? O_o
  5. Yeah, that torture line is weird. I wonder if that'll be in the Japanese version, because all it seems like that he just imprisoned Sonic, considering how chipper Sonic is.
  6. WOW. I'm feeling a LOT better about this game now.
  7. I love the series in general and what was good about it is special and is still enjoyable. But, I do think a lot of Sonic Team's games are pretty eh. And, it was kind of a bummer in the 2000s since there was a lot of bad. But, now we have Ian Flynn's comics, Generations, Colors, some of the handheld games, Mania and the Sonic Boom cartoon that's pretty rad (at least to me).
  8. If I had to critique, the scripting sometimes doesn't really fit what the character models are saying, like "Here goes, Partner!" doesn't really match Sonic's animation. And, something about Quinton Flynn's reads feel out of context somehow. Though I think, again, it's probably the script's fault. Knuckles and Infinite are fine, though
  9. Awesome! Updated the opening posted with this. I never really had any problem with this game, but this definitely the most exciting trailer they put out so far.
  10. ;_____; It's so good. The colors, the expressiveness, the song. It's....it's so good...;-;
  11. Against my better judgment, I saw the opening. I...I think I'm in love....
  12. Really, I just want new things. We get thrown so much nostalgia bones for the last decade that anything would be acceptable. Also the MAIN characters changing throughout the story. Not too stuck on status quo. Though, I guess it depends how they do it. It may be a comedy for all I know. But, yeah. I just want to see what IDW can do with Sonic. Not to copy anyone else.
  13. It's alright. My only nitpick is that the instrumental is playing the same part as the vocals are and it's kind of jarring.
  14. That's pretty much all I need to know. Thanks, you two. I'll just start from Worlds Collide and go from there. And I'll check out Mega Man as well.
  15. Haven't really looked into the comics since issue #50 when I was a kid. I read the Mega Drive series, and it's practically my favorite Sonic thing today. XD What do you guys recommend starting at for someone who is just getting back in the comics? And, should I skip some things in the main series?
  16. I love David Tennant, he's a fantastic actor and his stints in voice acting have been nothing short of great. I won't say no to him voice acting. ...but his voice is rather young for old Scrooge. Yeah, he's an actual Scott, but his voice is very youthful. So we'll see if he gets out a new voice. Not sure what I think about the kids having older voices. We'll see.
  17. My only beef with it is that visually, there's so much going on that it's really hard to focus on Sonic at times. But, otherwise, this is the best Sonic has ever controlled in anything 3D. Looking forward to more, if they're doing more!
  18. Like Sir Laptop, tiers are more my thing. Favorites: Sonic 2, Sonic CD, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, Sonic Rush, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations, Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed They're Alright: Sonic Adventure 2 (only really liked Sonic/Shadow levels), Sonic 1, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Heroes, Sonic R (honestly, it's only here cuz of the soundtrack) Meh: Everything Else Never Played: All the Boom Games, Lost World
  19. Ahh, I assumed that was reused stuff. Guess not. Thanks!
  20. I'm curious, for the few that have the Japanese copy of the game. Who did they get for Eggman? EDIT: Never mind, I just found out Japan doesn't have it yet. It's next month
  21. He's absolutely fantastic in that clip. Really glad he's in both the movie and the game. Kinda wish they kept Sean Bean as Regis for the game and got his game VA to do someone else (his normal voice is amazing), but eh, budget.
  22. Surprised this wasn't posted here. I'm not the biggest fan of the voice direction, but it is still really neat to see them do this for the English voice actors for a change. Ardyn's VA is probably going to be my favorite.
  23. I'm still on the weaboo side with the Japanese cast being the most consistent in voice acting and has stayed the same till now. I like that Jun'ichi Kanemaru doesn't sound cool, and that he doesn't try hard to make Sonic sound cool. He just gives him his own confidence, despite how much of a dork he can be. But, he can still be a badass despite that. He makes him very quirky and since he has a vast emotional range, he is very fun to listen to. The fact that he's still doing this to this day is awesome. On the English side, Mike Pollock just kept on getting better and better and better as Eggman. He can be as hilarious and threatening as Eggman needs to be. Really glad SEGA just kept him on board. Though, Long John Bradley is up there right with him. Good lord, is that guy fun to listen to. Jim Cummings is amazing as well, even though it is a different type of Robotnik character. It'd be awesome if he did try his hand in the Eggman character one day, though. Colleen Villard and Christopher Welch are probably my favorite Tails. Travis Willingham is hilarious as Knuckles, even though I don't like that they made him ridiculously dumb. The voice acting in the Black Knight is pretty good for the most part, too. Kind of a shame Jason Griffith stopped being Sonic. In other anime projects after that, he really grew up to be quite an amazing voice actor. It would've been fun to hear how much his performance would've changed afterwards.
  24. Well....it looks really cool! I'm kind of glad they're using the Generations guys, though I can't really say more besides that since they didn't show any gameplay. I'm only disappointed that they're using Classic Sonic again as a crutch for Modern Sonic. Hopefully, it turns out great in the end.
