If there's one thing I'm really not excited about with this new game, it's that it's cross-gen.
Like, I get it. If you're making a version for the Switch then it makes complete sense to put it on anything in between... but man we're going to be over a year in with these new consoles (possibly two) and... ugh. I'm not expecting R&C levels here but please at least be a step up from Forces.

Feels weird being one of the more positive people on here for a change. 
LIke I'm not thrilled by today's developments and have major issues with Colours and Origins, but I ain't mad? SEGA met my rather low expectations on the game front and delivered a particularly cool extra with Rise of the Wisps.

I'm really into the general aesthetic of the Sonic Zap trailer, ngl.
...but as long as we don't have gameplay, that's literally worth nothing.

I absolutely love what the Sega Forever account turned into.

3 to 4 years of dev time, no new game engine to work on, potentially lots of new blood through the merging of the Valkyria Chronicles/Sakura Wars team into CS2 - there's a lot of promising stuff out there for the next Sonic game, and I can't wait to see it, no matter how it'll turn out.

I've been checking out the credits of Sonic Forces to see what the devs were working on other than it, and one of the level designers of Forces went from The Last Guardian to Forces, only to move over to Squenix and supervise the level design of FF7 Remake of all things.
Game development is wild.

I'm thinking about how quickly some companies react when their products get leaked by putting out official info, often in a fun, tongue-in-cheek way, most of the time in a matter of hours/days.
And then I look at Sega's marketing with Sonic and the Colors leak that happened a month ago and they're like
