  1. Speaking of a feature/mechanic that's being reportedly cut in Sword and Shield

That sucks. I was kinda hoping Leon would rock a Mega Charizard Y.

Mega + Dynamax + Drought bonus would have been a legit final boss.

I'm no longer a competitive Pokemon nerd at all but least megas were kewl

I'm actually kind of mad about this. Mega Evolution gave a buff to very underpowered Pokemon and now unless they were Gyarados or Gengar, they're going to stay pretty bad. Its clear they didn't want to expand on old ideas anymore or improve them. Its just... Ugh.

I can't put my disappointment in words right now.

Noting expanding on/improving old ideas and features is Game Freak's M.O.

This doesn't bother me personally, because I didn't like either of those features. They were situational, and only really existed to counter the power creep that's come along with every generation. It reality, they didn't counter it as much as they added to it and made it worse. Dynamaxing seems like it could be a much more balanced approach to both Megas and Z's. I'd honestly much prefer goofy-looking giant Pokémon to lame-ass dance moves from the trainer to make Pokémon attack or the over-designed Megas.

But Christ... Both are big features that shaped the metagame and made the single player campaign more enjoyable for, dare I say, millions of fans. Pokémon needs to slow down if the content and quality of the games is suffering due to the release schedule.

I like megas, but I have less of an issue with megas/Z-moves being removed specifically, and more with Game Freak wasting their time on gimmicks that are only around for one generation when they could be using that effort polishing the rest of the game and streamlining so much other shit.
