Definetly. Everyone complained about the trolley challenge while i breezed though that and instead couldn't complete the crystal popcorn challenges until years later.

The trolley was not that difficult for me either. At worst it was just simple trail and error with a little muscle memory but I cleared that relatively easily, especially in Reignited. 

Normally I use my own name, though when I was younger and first played Red/Blue, I sometimes used "Ash". Other than that, I purposely chose another name for White 2 because I knew about the memory link stuff with White 1 and it'd seem kinda awkward to use my name.

Side note since I actually have Sword now; the World of Pokemon intro is an actual cinematic cutscene huh. 

...And yet this would've been better with voice acting just on principle because I like this quite a lot, lol.

I just use my online alias if I play as a boy, random girl names as a girl.

Usually "PC" for me.

Unless I replay the game later on as a female trainer.

Although I’ve never played Pokemon, I can say this much from my experience in other games:

It feels awkward to use my own name.

I use my own name. My rival is usually my roommate or my brother XD

I never use my "real" name ever

I just go with whatever I think of to suit the character.

I always used Ash as sort of a tradition born out of initial confusion (my first pokemon game was Crystal and I assumed that Red, Ethan, and Ash were all the same guy until I played further into the game and saw more of the anime, etc.) except in sapphire when I picked the girl and named her May. Been using different names besides Ash ever since White 2 tho. In Zelda games also, I just keep it as Link.

I just use the "canon" names when possible. Same with any game that lets you name the player character(s).

In Pokémon I always use my own name, because the character is so meaningless to the plot and the main purpose is for recording your Pokémon adventure. Unless I'm playing as the girl, in which case I use the default name. I don't like the name Alex, so I was really pleased when the games finally started to accept longer names and I could finally call myself Alexander.

In any other game though, I tend to choose the default name. Like, how the fuck can you play Zelda with any name except Link? It just feels so wrong. And yet, I've seen plenty of people express disappointment over the fact that you can't pick a name in that BotW. 

Typically I really dislike when games use audience insert characters. I don't enjoy avatars at all. Give me an actual protagonist, please.

I usually just end up using “Stricker”.

If I'm playing as a boy, I use my name. If playing a girl, I use the canon name.

Like in White I chose Zuala. 

Ever since gen 6 I've used my name. For every gen I've played before that I just used the title of the gen thinking those were the canon names. Ofc that's only true for gen 1, but in my head Gold is still the canon name for the gen 2 protag.

It depends. Sometimes I use my real name, sometimes I don't.

...And then sometimes I go with the middle option and just stick with "Ash".

Best Pokémon games in a while. But that's not a particularly high bar. The games are laden with problems that Pokémon has had for years. Game Freak doesn't have the ambition/desire to makes Pokémon live up to its potential. It's purely seen as a cash for to be milked.

Is it worth the 40-45 I can get for it once I return home then?

Lol yeah you can just replace Pokémon with Sonic and Game Freak with Sonic Team. That wasn't intentional, but it is apt.

It's because of Sonic Forces that I knew exactly where the whole SwSh debacle was headed.

They're Pokemon games, take it or leave it.

The only positive I see for it personally is that I, in my busy adult life can now finish core Pokemon games faster than ever. But I still don't like it beyond that.

To be fair, that could be done with the optional one.

It doesn't even ask you if you want a tutorial if you catch pokemon before said tutorial. 

You have PokéBalls the first time you step in to a route. In the next city, someone will give you a catching tutorial of you've not caught anything. But if you have, they just go "cool youre not an idiot have fun I wont waste your time patronising you".

It might not have been quite that long, but its been a while. I remember the rumors flying around from before they were even connected to the Sonic movie.

I don't think it got delayed either. Marza just takes their dear sweet time with most of their stuff.

I know Sonic and Tom bonded a lot over the course of the movie but I do feel the very end was kind of pandering and unnecessary, the kiss just came out of nowhere.
