  1. I know I'm late to the party. But I didn't realize the SEGA forums shut down until today. I've been really off the Sonic grid.

      They shut down?

I mean, I knew the SEGA forums had been in decline for awhile, but dang...

      RIP SEGA forums.

I've read that this happened a long, long time ago. February.

And this was just meant to be a migration away from vBulletin to a new forum software. But I don't think forum migrations take this long.

There's a loooooot of software to load old databases to new ones and it's not like the SEGA forums used anything beyond default posting and strike systems. They didn't have any awards or badges. It really shouldn't take this long. Especially if they decide to go with a paid forum software. I'm partial to Simple Machines, myself.

Oh yeah, it's been a long while since they did. Not sure if they still plan on making a new forum or not at this point.

Yeah, Aaron said that migrating to a new forum later on was a possibility, but nothing was confirmed around the time it shut down. I'm guessing they need approval from SEGA at some point or another to carry it on, but haven't gotten any so far.

@The Deleter Considering the budget for Sonic games nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have the budget to migrate to a new forum :v

(btw remember when sega announced a mobile app for the sonic franchise that was supposed to be launched back in 2016?)
