  1. Why do remakes of 90s games tend to have worse character animations compared to original games? Prince of Persia Classic, Worms Reloaded, Flashback... Should I go on?

  2. Please, check Options menu if you can. Options menu is important. I'd like to at least know if it uses a launcher or not.
  3. The game is getting closer to being playable on Xenia, though, gameplay glitches caused by emulation are gone, only graphical issues remain now.

  6. Jesus Christ, Firefox 29 is so bad.

      WTF There already on 29?

Looks like Chrome with less Processes to me.

The more Firefox resembles Chrome, the better.

  7. Apparently, the longest running video game franchise is not Mario, not Tetris, not even Pac-Man, but Space Invaders. Even though only 6 games (2 of which are spin-offs) were released during its entire existense. Taito still holds the rights to franchise after 36 years. Second place arguably goes to Microsoft Flight Simulator - the first game was released in 1979.

I think everyone and their grandma knows that.

Forgot to mention Space Invaders release date - 1978.

    3. Nicknine

A bit of googling shows that not everyone knows that. :P

      Wow.

Just look it up, most people suggest Mario and Tetris when asked.

    7. Sean

      Sean

Well I didn't know this. Pretty neat.

Well Pong, Breakout and the Sprint series [revived in the 80s as Super/Championship Sprint] are actually older than Space Invaders however no knows who has the rights to them now since Atari keeps coming and going. Sprint 2 [the first one in 1976] was also one of the first games to have a ROM and the first that can have its sprites ripped.

  8. According to VG chartz Sonic Lost World is one of the most poorly sold Sonic games for the last 16 years. For the same last 16 years, it's also the first Sonic game that failed both in terms of critical reception AND sales. This sounds serious.

      Your Vest Friend

Much of that is because it's directly correlated to the Wii U's performance.

You mean a Sonic game on a console no one has is doing badly? And it didn't really fail in terms of critical reception either. Non GTA V scores =/= failure.

    4. Nicknine

      Nicknine

Yeah, saying it failed in terms of critical reception might have been an overkill. The game still sold a lot worse than previous Sonic games.

    5. Sami

      Sami

      It's a Wii U game. Shocking.

VG Chartz = Very unreliable without multiple secondary information types.

    7. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Saying a Wii U game is commercial failure is like saying water is wet.

      Badnik Mechanic

Though it's probably not too out with that statement.

    9. Nicknine

It's also been released for 3DS and that version sold 190 thousand copies. For comparison, Sonic Generations on 3DS sold almost 1 million.

    10. Detective Shadzter

      Detective Shadzter

Yeah, even with VG Chartz being a shitty source, it's obvious the game won't have sold well, simply because it's on Wii U.

      spinny

It's worth noting though that in Generations' case, the 3DS version was the only available option for Nintendo fans.

    12. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Though even with VGChartz aside you do have a point about the 3DS version. I don't know why that had to sell so poorly, but I can only hope it's because people recognised it for the utter piece of shit that it is.

    13. Marcello

      Marcello

Yeah, I think people just didn't care about Lost World.

ASRT sold best on Wii U didn't it?

    14. Nicknine

      Nicknine

ASRT on Wii U came close to PS3 sales, actually, and sold better than on 3DS.

    15. FourCartridge

      FourCartridge

      @Marcello:

      Only by 1-200K IIRC.

OT: Kinda called it. Don't see much of a chance for Boom if that fails critically either.

    16. Sami

      Sami

ASRT was a launch game on the Wii U. Launch rush is the greatest explaining factor for the sales on that platform.

  9. Why are most viewed videos on Youtube are often the ones with shitty audio/video quality, are recorded off-screen or have one-channel audio, while smooth 1080p videos with good audio have 10k views at best?

And it's also relevant to the content itself.

    3. Marcello

      Marcello

Often because the off screen shitty quality versions are around first and after they've seen it they don't really care to see it again.

  10. Just got Nvidia Riva TNT2 Ultra to conclude my retro PC. Man, it was a top-end GPU back in 1999 and now people sell them for less than $5.

  11. Totally related, huh? I wonder why they took music from here, a barely known movie-based video game? The game has been developed and published by Ubisoft, the composers are Marvin Strait, Dre Zagman, Galileo Seven. None of this is related to Sonic in any way. I'm not the one who found it.
  12. Finally got them all except All-Star Racing which I won't buy because it's just a DS port.
  13. 3.0.2 update is released for Android version. I wonder what's changed 'cause there're no "What's new" notes...
