  1. Please, check Options menu if you can. Options menu is important. I'd like to at least know if it uses a launcher or not.
  2. Jesus Christ, Firefox 29 is so bad.

      WTF There already on 29?

Looks like Chrome with less Processes to me.

The more Firefox resembles Chrome, the better.

  3. Apparently, the longest running video game franchise is not Mario, not Tetris, not even Pac-Man, but Space Invaders. Even though only 6 games (2 of which are spin-offs) were released during its entire existense. Taito still holds the rights to franchise after 36 years. Second place arguably goes to Microsoft Flight Simulator - the first game was released in 1979.

Forgot to mention Space Invaders release date - 1978.

A bit of googling shows that not everyone knows that. :P

Just look it up, most people suggest Mario and Tetris when asked.

Well I didn't know this. Pretty neat.

Well Pong, Breakout and the Sprint series [revived in the 80s as Super/Championship Sprint] are actually older than Space Invaders however no knows who has the rights to them now since Atari keeps coming and going. Sprint 2 [the first one in 1976] was also one of the first games to have a ROM and the first that can have its sprites ripped.

  4. According to VG chartz Sonic Lost World is one of the most poorly sold Sonic games for the last 16 years. For the same last 16 years, it's also the first Sonic game that failed both in terms of critical reception AND sales. This sounds serious.

Much of that is because it's directly correlated to the Wii U's performance.

You mean a Sonic game on a console no one has is doing badly? And it didn't really fail in terms of critical reception either. Non GTA V scores =/= failure.

    4. Nicknine

      Nicknine

Yeah, saying it failed in terms of critical reception might have been an overkill. The game still sold a lot worse than previous Sonic games.

      It's a Wii U game. Shocking.

VG Chartz = Very unreliable without multiple secondary information types.

Saying a Wii U game is commercial failure is like saying water is wet.

Though it's probably not too out with that statement.

It's also been released for 3DS and that version sold 190 thousand copies. For comparison, Sonic Generations on 3DS sold almost 1 million.

    10. Detective Shadzter

      Detective Shadzter

Yeah, even with VG Chartz being a shitty source, it's obvious the game won't have sold well, simply because it's on Wii U.

It's worth noting though that in Generations' case, the 3DS version was the only available option for Nintendo fans.

    12. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Though even with VGChartz aside you do have a point about the 3DS version. I don't know why that had to sell so poorly, but I can only hope it's because people recognised it for the utter piece of shit that it is.

    13. Marcello

      Marcello

Yeah, I think people just didn't care about Lost World.

ASRT sold best on Wii U didn't it?

    14. Nicknine

      Nicknine

ASRT on Wii U came close to PS3 sales, actually, and sold better than on 3DS.

    15. FourCartridge

      FourCartridge

      @Marcello:

      Only by 1-200K IIRC.

OT: Kinda called it. Don't see much of a chance for Boom if that fails critically either.

    16. Sami

      Sami

ASRT was a launch game on the Wii U. Launch rush is the greatest explaining factor for the sales on that platform.

  5. Why are most viewed videos on Youtube are often the ones with shitty audio/video quality, are recorded off-screen or have one-channel audio, while smooth 1080p videos with good audio have 10k views at best?

Often because the off screen shitty quality versions are around first and after they've seen it they don't really care to see it again.

  6. Just got Nvidia Riva TNT2 Ultra to conclude my retro PC. Man, it was a top-end GPU back in 1999 and now people sell them for less than $5.

  7. Totally related, huh? I wonder why they took music from here, a barely known movie-based video game? The game has been developed and published by Ubisoft, the composers are Marvin Strait, Dre Zagman, Galileo Seven. None of this is related to Sonic in any way. I'm not the one who found it.
  8. Finally got them all except All-Star Racing which I won't buy because it's just a DS port.
  9. 3.0.2 update is released for Android version. I wonder what's changed 'cause there're no "What's new" notes...
  10. OK, that's it! From this day on, I'll be installing and completing all of the games from my Steam library in alphabetical order!

    1. Nicknine

      Nicknine

Because right now, I haven't even ever installed 75% of my games.

  11. 1.9.0 update is now released for Android.

  13. Sonic 2 was ported to mobile phones using J2ME around 2008. Due to game's size (or just someone's greediness) the game was split in two parts - Sonic 2: Dash and Sonic 2: Crash. There were two main variants of the port. The high-end one was meant for more powerful phones and is pretty accurate, the only things that it lacks are Special Stages, the ability to play as Tails and sound effects. In fact it would be a pretty good port if it wouldn't run at like 15 frames per second. D: Part One (Dash) features levels from Emerald Hill to Hill Top and Part Two (Crash) has the rest of them. The low-end version was meant for weaker phones, featuring butchered graphics, no Tails, no bosses (except for the final boss which was butchered, too), no Chaos Emeralds to collect and each part has only three zones: Dash has Emerald Hill, Casino Night and Hill Top; Crash has Mystic Cave, Metropolis and Death Egg. Level design mostly remained the same in the low-end version but there are slight differencies. You know, after comparing Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 Special Stages I can say that the former ones are worse. Because they're filled with THESE FUCKING BUMPERS which always throw you into FUCKING GOAL BLOCKS INSTANTLY ENDING THE STAGE! At least in Sonic 2 you don't get kicked out of SS if you touch a bomb! [/rage]
  14. I've just discovered that one port actually did add a spring to that infamous Mystic Cave spike pit. It it the low-end version of Sonic 2 J2ME port. Yeah, this one:
  15. He's not the only god around here! Actually, I find Special Stages to be easier than in the original game, even with touch controls.
  16. In Sky Chase Zone you can STILL fall off the plane using Spin Dash. I was expecting this bug to be fixed.
  17. I'm gonna rant again about online multiplayer because it's HORRIBLE. Shitty synchronisation, random collission detection glitches that prevent you from going through loops, teleport never works as it should (it usually teleports one player to the other, sometimes it doesn't work at all), game getting stuck at "Waiting for player", camera stops following player who is falling behind and endless lagging. Special Stages are unplayable unless there's no lag, there's HUGE delay in opponent's moves - he constantly appears to be off the side from you while actually he's right in front of you collecting YOUR rings. His ring counter appears to be completely independent from what is actually going on the screen. It's the worst online multiplayer I've seen so far.
  18. Also, every time I finish a zone I get kicked out with "2P Mode disconnected" message. Maybe it's just a coincidence and all opponents were just dummies who quit after the first round.
  19. This game has worst online mutltiplayer I've ever seen. Synchronisation is absolutely horrible especially in Special Stages. Opponent doesn't seem to move at all at first and then he suddenly has 50 rings. I win 2 of 3 SS rounds, it says 2P WINS twice and at the end? 1P WINS! WHAT THE CRAP?
  20. Little hint at what's next for the team perhaps? Hell yeah, can't wait for Sonic 3 remake. I hope it will be based on Sonic 3 Complete hack.
