    8. Dr. Homem

      Dr. Homem

Seriously though, video games are a minuscule part of both companies and you can understand why they wouldn't pick a game character to be their official mascot.

    9. Crash

      Crash

      @Homem - Nah, Crash.

    10. Dr. Homem

      Dr. Homem

      Why not both?

(oh and Crash, Halo is anything but generic. It's one of the most lore-intensive, creative IPs of today)

Microsoft almost got a mascot for the original Xbox - to design him, they brought in a man called Naoto Ōshima - you MAY have heard of him. :P

    12. KHCast

      KHCast

Microsofts gaming division seems like a pretty big deal for them homem.

    13. Tracker_TD

      Tracker_TD

...unlike Naoto Ōshima's other mascot creation, however, Blinx the Time Sweeper failed miserably.

    14. Chili Dawg

      Chili Dawg

      Kratos and DRM

    15. Crash

      Crash

@Homem - I said nothing about the gameplay. Master Cheif just looks like any other space man.

    16. Dr. Homem

      Dr. Homem

@Xehanort: Ha, it really isn't, compared to the rest. It's certainly large, I don't doubt that, but you underestimate how much of a massive company they are. Same for Sony.

    17. Dr. Homem

      Dr. Homem

      @Crash: Ah, sure.

Eliminating microsofts or Sony's game division wouldn't cause a dent is what you're saying?

    20. Chili Dawg

Playstation is one of the only Sony divisions that's actually doing well at the moment. Not sure about Microsoft.

    21. Dr. Homem

      Dr. Homem

That's quite obviously not what I'm saying. You can't eliminate a section of a corporation without causing a dent. What I'm saying is that, when you see their entire size, and compare it to the size of their gaming subsidiary, you would understand why they wouldn't associate the whole company with the mascot of a game character, because it would look like their primary section is video games - which it's not.

    22. Dr. Homem

      Dr. Homem

@Chili: Correct; both of them are doing very well at the time.

    23. KHCast

      KHCast

Well then the mascot of the game division would be....?

    24. Dr. Homem

      Dr. Homem

That's the point. You wouldn't give a mascot the the gaming division to avoid associating it with the whole company. Simple as that.
