I've finally managed to beat Oxide's time-trial in Crash Cove!!!
Took a break from the time-trials for a few days. Just now I decided to have another ago at Crash Cove and after a few attempts I beat it. My attempt:
The reason why I found this one so difficult is because Oxide is very fast on the final lap. In order to beat him you need to get the "super red-boost" from the the two boost-pads at the end of the second lap and keep it for the entire final lap, which I managed to do. This is the only time I've ever manged to retain the the super red-boost throughout the final lap.
Still need to beat Dragon Mines & Tiny Temple. For Dragon Mines it's the same problem. There is a boost-pad just before the end of the lap. If I can generate the super red-boost and keep it for at least half a lap then that should be enough to beat Oxide. Again, easier said then done.

How do you not see the problem? Let me put it this way - you see every single thing that this game has been getting shit for since launch in terms of unlockables - including - rate of grinding wumpa coins, overpriced items, the atrocious pit-stop rotation, and the atrocious bonus hours online, all of that was added for the sole purpose of making the game a completely boring slog so that you will be tempted over and over again to shell out more cash for the microtransactions.
This is why the pit stop is the way it is, as is Grand Prix exclusives. Because when you see that item in the shop, and you have no more bonus hours to grind out coins quickly, you're going to sit there, tempted to buy Activision's bullshit coin packs to get the item you want now instead of waiting and possibly missing it. That's the design at play here, to screw around with your mind and tempt you to pay up.
But if you really want me to take you on with this point, and want to now defend Activision and/or Beenox literally ruining the gameplay experience to fit in their microtransactions - here's why it's a problem - the game and it's grind is now a monotonous, boring, and frustrating wait to get an item you want. The game itself is hindered due to how much grinding you have to do to get just a few collectables. Everything regarding unlockables is now revealed to be in support of a terrible microtransaction. The awful Pit Stop layout trying to entice you to spend money so you can get an item before it's out of rotation, the long grind to get enough coins even to buy one item that tries to entice you further with the idea of "it's easier".
That's the core idea behind this little scheme. The game itself has to suffer by making the game much more boring to play so that you'll be tempted to buy the coins because "it's easier". That's the whole point. The game spreads out it's wumpa coin rate to be as low as possible, and to make it that it takes forever to unlock items at a decent rate, so that you'll say "it's easier and less frustrating than grinding for it".
In fact, if you ever need to use the justification of "it means less having to play the game in order to unlock something", that just shows a staggering problem in of itself with how the game is designed.

Here's some gameplay... Without music? Level looks awesome tho', better than Twilight Tour IMO:
Oh my God, the baby characters only have a voice modulator, that's kinda lazy hahaha Funny neverthless.

Made good progress today. I've beaten another 4 Oxide time-trials (Coco Park, Blizzard Bluff, Inferno Island & Sewer Speedway).
Once I figured out the right technique for Inferno Island it was surprising easy. For Sewer Speedway I kept having trouble making the short-cut when boosting like crazy (the red boost makes it so easy to miss-time the tricky jump for the short-cut). However, in only my second attempt today everything just clicked. Coco Park & Blizzard Bluff were bloody hard but I persevered.
Crash Cove, Dragon Mines & Tiny Temple are the only one's left to beat in order to unlock the Platinum.
I've tried so hard to beat Crash Cove but keep falling short.

Perhaps this will help. I've manged to beat Oxide's time trial in Oxide Station! I recorded my attempt:
Also beat Polar Pass & Tiny Area today.
I still need to beat seven more (Crash Cove, Sewer Speedway, Coco Park, Blizzard Bluff, Dragon Mines, Tiny Temple & Inferno fucking-hard Island).

Pfft, You wish. You've got to beat all of N. Oxide's Ghosts (except for the bonus stage of Twilight Tour) to unlock that skin.

I've beaten all except Oxide Station. That time trial just feels impossible.

Yeah, never heard of OK KO either. Is it popular/good ratings? Regardless whether it is or not, a Sonic & Tails cameo in another animated series is pretty cool and I appreciate all the references. Hopefully there will be many more when the full episode airs.

Oh, I know that. Like I said,  I already got to the end of Gold Tier days ago.
That's sort of why I called Tawna's paint job "fabled", since I haven't been able to find it elsewhere.

I've earned just over 38,000 nitro points. So I should max-out Gold tier comfortably before the grand prix finishes in 11 days time.

No. I think they should replace Takashi Iizuka and Sonic Team and replace them with a new untalented team.

Soooo, I've unlocked Tawna, Ami & Liz. Reached Silver Tier. Played lots and lots more races online.... I also won a Twilight Harbor Online race, yay. I've been unable to get a Battle Match today.
Will keep playing until I unlock Isabella & Megumi.

Another Western dev has gotten their hands on the Kunio-kun IP (after 2017's River City Ransom: Underground), this time by Shantae/Mighty Switch Force creators WayForward. You'll be playing as the girlfriends of Kunio and Riki, Misako and Ryoko, as they attempt to rescue their boyfriends from the nefarious organization known as "the cops." I haven't played much Kunio-kun aside from the first game on NES and Underground, but I was sold even before the trailer dropped today. Delinquent girls, great graphics, and a theme song by Actual IRL Shantae (or as her friends know her, Cristina Vee). Nice to see some competition to Streets of Rage 4!

Be carefull @TheOcelot, the patch isn't out yet! You don't wanna get your save file corrupted :S
I'm staying away from Time Trials for now, not because I fear the bug, but because I'm taking my time with the game. I normally play only during weekends or weekdays at night an hour at most.
I'm very excited to partake in this GP event, I've never played an online game that had this kind of thing going on (only GTA V to an extent). Looks super fun. Grinding will be needed, but I'm not complaining, I mean, before microtransactions, everything was done this way. I've grew in the 90's, and I much rather unlock and/or buy shit this way than having to pull my wallet again.

Yeeee ha. Beat all N. Trophy time-trials and unlocked him as a playable character
The last N. Trophy time-trial I did was Tiny Arena, which is a lot harder than you might think. If you don't utilize the boost pad correctly (near the end of the lap) and keep a super-boost-chain going for half the lap you've got no chance of beating him:
Once you beat the final N. Trophy time-trial he speaks at the end of it:

I've been playing the Online Battle modes today which are a lot of fun. A PSN trophy requirement is to win a game of every type of Battle mode (catch the flag or collect the crystals etc). I'm certain I've won a game of every type of battle mode but the PSN trophy hasn't unlocked yet.
Battle mode is quite cool in that at the end of the game it highlights who the best player was (which I was as per the below screenshot).

As for Nitro Fueled Hard mode. It's not a fair race. The AI's are simply too fast. The game should at the very least give you useful weapons (such as Aku Aku/Uka Uka masks) more frequently to compensate for the harder difficulty, but it doesn't.
The best technique is to drop to 8th, get a Aku Aku mask, collect 10 Wumpa fruit and try to get a run of several Aku Aku masks whilst using the races short-cuts at every opportunity. Even then you won't win races. Just gotta keep retrying until you get lucky, which isn't much fun.
