Picked this up from Mike Pollock.
    We have a problem.
Jason's newly born son is already having health problems.
He and his wife are asking for money to help with the medical expenses for poor Austin.
Please help them, if you can.

Yoko/葉子 got a reaction from Dark Qiviut in Fictional characters you hate/dislike?
I would surprisingly say Clow Reed from Cardcaptor Sakura simply because he practically punished The Nothing for being how he made her.
He makes her to be the single negative card for equally balancing all the 52 positive Clow Cards, but seals her away because she is too dangerous. Couldn't he have just lowered the power of the other 52 to make Nothing weaker?
In the second movie, Nothing went on a rampage because her "father" forced her into an isolation that not even death could save her from. While Clow's reincarnation (Eriol) tried to warn Sakura, he could have tried to make amends for how his former self treated her. No one innocent deserves the horrors of isolation.
If that isn't an artificial variation of child abuse, I don't know what is.
Just looking at her eyes makes me sick with the pain of forced isolation.
At the end of the movie, she was much calmer and happier because Sakura succeeded where Clow failed.
Bottom line: Clow was possibly one of the worst dads in CLAMP's many anime.
I'd also have to say Waltz from Eternal Sonata. He poisons his people by taxing everything except toxic and hurts people for the sake of power and wanting to be remembered.

Yoko/葉子 got a reaction from Zavok the SpinningSilver in Popular and unpopular Sonic opinions you agree and disagree with!
Popular: I can see why most would not care for Jaleel White not voicing Sonic and his siblings well in Underground.
To make a comparison, since there are lots of Dragon Ball fans here: While I'm happy for Kozo Shioya for being able to voice all incarnations of Boo except Oob in Japanese, the problem is that he does not sound convincing as any of them, just like with Jaleel. And believe me, this is coming from one who knows small amounts of Japanese and can pick up on the acting in some words. No matter what, if you can't get a decent voice actor to believably play multiple parts, don't use them for the extra parts, even if to save money. (Which is why I think having different people play different Boo versions in the American dub worked much better.)
Which reminds me, I am still impressed with how the New York cast were able to pull of so many different voices and still sound great as them all. I think part of that might be that New York has one advantage that Los Angeles does not: much more work to practice with in theatrical plays, thus forcing them to have variety.

So, on another note. Has anyone been watching the English dub of Super? I've been loving it so far. Highlight from episode 5 most definitely being King Kai's reaction to Goku wanting to take on Beerus. "I swear, sometimes I think you have brain damage!".

Yoko/葉子 got a reaction from BlueSky in Popular and unpopular Sonic opinions you agree and disagree with!
Unpopular: As much as I dislike 06 and ShTH, I feel the criticisms commonly made have been done so many times that it's not even discussion anymore. Our dear Mike Pollock recently said getting virtually the same comments for Robotnik, over and over is making him upset (if I understood correctly). No different. Try criticism that's more original that most would never say or think of. As such, people should start looking for less obvious things to enjoy, even if it's just a cutscene reminding you of a meeting you had with someone, in your own life.

Yoko/葉子 reacted to Burning Finger in Oh God, I had forgotten how horrid the cutscenes in Adventure were...
This. The acting is atrocious in both SA games, and Sonic Shuffle, it only got mildly better in Heroes. Its so bad I can't believe anyone was up in arms when 4Kids opted not to use those actors in Sonic X, and got even angrier when Sega later made the X cast the official cast of the games. Think what you want, but the 4Kids cast were far better actors than anyone in the SA cast. Even when the acting was bad it still wasn't nearly as bad as any of those guys. I still think its a shame we lost the 4Kids cast, as they really improved as it went along, and the voices are still the voices I associate with the characters to this very day. I miss them, but at least we still have Mike.
The only decent actors out of the SA cast were Ryan Drummond and David Humphrey, and thats become even more apparent to me since I just recently started to replay both games. Everyone else is terrible.
The lip sync always bugged me about those games, and theres really no excuse for it when there are other games that came out around that time had much better lip sync. The background music drowning out the dialouge was annoying too. Its been awhile since I played it but, I think Heroes is where they finally improved the lip sync, but I think the music still drowned out the voices.

To be honest, I can completely forgive the cutscenes, given their age.  What I can't excuse is the English voice acting, I mean holy crud...  It's damn near Resident Evil stiff.

Stock animations per scene...that's pretty bad. They weren't too ambitious with the cut-scenes that's for sure.

February combo celebrates the long-awaited return of new TMNT episodes in the US. Avatar is a cute little illustration by Peter Laird of Mikey dressing up Leatherhead like a ninja that I found in an archived version of the old TMNT site and the member title is a reference to the old TMNT movies.

I said I was going to be on a break until tomorrow, but I felt this needed to be said.
Bandai Namco announced that the founder of Namco "ran out of batteries."
He was 91, but he lived a long life and we should be grateful that he was not taken horribly sooner.
No one here has probably not played a Namco game and the gigantic tree of versatile fun he planted has impacted many throughout the decades.
Farewell, Nakamura-sama, we will see you in the aftergame.
Felt it would be appropriate to have a tune from a Namco game go with this event.

Yoko/葉子 reacted to Mr Loopone in Masaya Nakamura: Founder of Namco has Departed
It's a sad day. Even though he wasn't a recognised name in the gaming world even among executives (seems to have kept himself to himself), his contributions towards the gaming industry were massive and Pac-Man along with other arcade games/mascots made it to pop culture and the mainstream. Not just Pac-Man, he also wanted competition in the console market thanks to his frustrations over Nintendo's monopoly supporting the PC Engine, Mega Drive and later the PlayStation to success, even saving a part of Atari too in their early days. I give condolences to anyone in his family or people who knew him. At least he has lived a long life and no known health problems.
If it wasn't for him and many countless staff members at Namco (along with Sega), I probably won't be into gaming since many of the earliest games that I played came from the arcades or the PS1 from them. One point, Sega and Namco were rivals both producing quality content. It was Time Crisis 1/2, Point Blank, Tekken 2/3, Soul Blade, Rage Racer and Ridge Racer Type 4 that got me to respect and held them to high regard.
    Rest in peace Mr. Nakamura.

Because Broly is basically the Hulk in a world where battles are mostly balanced and even one sided ones have a few good shots from the losing side.
People love Broly because he spent the entire first movie doing nothing other than ragdolling literally everyone who challenged him, the only hit he got came from the attack that defeated him.
Again it all boils down to what people watch Dragon Ball for, some just want cool fights with no character or story behind, others enjoy the characters and action and want a good balance.

Plus for many, the Broly fanbase represents the biggest issue in the DBZ community. The fans who just care about the edgy badass roided out fighters constantly punching eachother and screaming without any story, good character or fun behind them.

This, plus the fact that not everyone thinks USSJ-style bloated muscles look cool. His design only looks ok to me, but I understand why people might like it.
The lack of personality and horrendous motivation are what really kill the character though.

For me, it's because he's a big shallow lummox with no personality to speak of and lousy motivation for what he does, yet somehow has three movies to his name and a legion of adoring fans. It's like walking down the street and seeing a swathe of people gathering excitedly around a tree trunk and commenting on how great they think it is.

You're not alone. There's most likely an age limit in the tournament. Also, Chi Chi would just make Goten study, while Bulma would tell Kid Trunks to stay in school with the Pilaf Gang.
BTW, I would love to see Piccolo get his revenge against Frost.
Real talk here: Spike the Devilman should totally replace Master Roshi. If Spike ever fought against someone like Frost, I imagine it would be pretty similar to how he squared off against Mecha Frieza and King Cold in that hilarious What-if scenario of DBZ: BT3.
