It's my bad since I didn't see the edit, so I made an exception and added a slot to Shadow to allow for both songs, because it's my fault.

Think I might stick as The Master for a while. Kinda like a change for once.

No thanks, i'd rather have what the original vision was for the setting (a Conan the Barbarian and Red Sonja-inspired fantasy landscape) taking itself seriously.

BlueSky reacted to Speederino in Honestly, thinking about it - if the rumour is true about Nintendo re-releasing the 3
With Mario Galaxy they could feasibly change it from pointer to gyro controls via the Joycon. Sunshine is trickier but I think it could be done, we've got more buttons to work with now after all. Map full spray to ZR and light spray to R, for example. It's not a perfect solution, no, but I think it could work.

Makes me wonder how they handled that pointer thing in the Nvidia shield release over in China.

BlueSky reacted to Blue Blood in Call it a hot take or not, I don’t know if it is - but I still don’t think any game i
I don't think many people would dispute it. City Escape is generally a really solid level; it's got a varied fast pace that's never outside of player control, it teaches the player without obvious tutorials, it's got several iconic set pieces, it's linear without much room for exploration but plays to the strengths of this by curating a memorable and free-flowing experience. Most importantly, it opens with a brief and exciting cutscene and gets straight into the action with a killer soundtrack that's synchronised to the opening moments of the level. SA2 easily has the best opening of any game in the series of we're including levels. Like you say, Unleashed opens with a great cutscene, but then goes into another "stand around talking" cutscene level and an outwardly tutorial mini level that's not nearly as well crafted as City Escape. Even if you remove the story aspects of it, City Escape is still leagues beyond the rest of the series.

There's a fairly popular video discussion on why City Escape is so good. I recommend you watch it.
He followed it up with another video about why Forces' Lost Valley is basically the anti City Escape...

City Escape is kind of that perfect level; it teaches you the game, and it just sets the atmosphere completely.

To me, City Escape is one of the best levels in the series because it's still a fun level while teaching you the basics. Unleashed's tutorial is fine enough for what it is (and I do love the setting), but it's core problem is that it takes too long to actually get going because of the tutorials beforehand. I honestly believe you could've just made Windmill Isle Act 2 into the tutorial stage, and it would've worked just as well.
City Escape starts off with a cutscene that builds intrigue, but also excitement, as Sonic busts out of the GUN helicopter, and then the whole stage is just a thrill ride from beginning to end.
Although I will put my hands up and admit that I am biased as all hell on the matter. While I didn't get SA2B til like 6 or 7 years after it released, along with SADX on GameCube, I still got it when I was a kid. I've got a shit ton of memories with both City Escape and Metal Harbour. I can even remember booting up SA2B if I had a spare 30 minutes or so solely to play through City Escape again.

BlueSky reacted to DanJ86 in Looks like the UK is now going into lockdown.
I was naïve in thinking people would listen to the health guidelines. Based on photos I've seen of peoples activities yesterday, (Sunday.) the only way to make people listen is through force and threats of a fine.
I don't disagree with the lockdown, I'm more baffled that it's the only way some people will take it seriously.

The Secret Rings loud and clear by then that life can feel like a Spinball Party, but All the Stars tell you to go Racing with Banjo Kazooie to Flicky's Island, where Adventure fits in your Pocket.
It's still a shame that the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are pushed back and all the Schoolhouses are closed, but the most you can do is Make some Music and Raise your Lyrics for all the Fighters in the world to hear... You'll feel so good inside you feel like you can Jump in Zero Gravity, and all your Triple Troubles are Erasered back to the Shadows from whence they came.
