  1. Man... Sonic Heroes in terms of art style, enviorments and music really nailed that Sonic vibe. (We had the heavy rock but also the cheery bubbly music) Probably the best artstyle and the one they should have kept going with.

i cannot in good conscience condone heroes' art style considering how the characters look

the environments were generally fine but the characters have rarely looked worse

100% agree with you, Joseph. Easily the best Sonic artstyle that just SCREAMS "Sonic". It's a bit part of why it's my favorite 3D Sonic game and the one I most enjoy going back to no matter how many years pass.

      Man, I miss that game.

Glad that the art planner from it is now the art director, makes me excited to see how next game will look like.

Eh, while the art style was pretty good at face value, that engine did not do it any favors. Just ended up making things look either too plastic or flat out lifeless.

It had the best Rouge outfit for sure.

@Strickerx5 I definitely don't agree with that and have never seen eye-to-eye with the few people I've seen say that for Heroes. It's honestly the only game after the Adventure games that has any sort of nice, vibrant life and color to me outside of maybe Unleashed, Generations and maybe 2 parts of Colors (ironically).

Then again, I specifically played the Gamecube version of Heroes and have never seen what the other inferior versions look like, but that one is still fine to me.

@Waveshocker SigmaI'll give you the colors bit but beyond that, literally all the character models flat out look like toys to me. I've had this opinion on the game long before I even touched (and I do mean touch because lord knows I can no longer actually play through the game on my own drive to) the PC version which only highlighted those issues.

The game also has a lot of empty space for those enemy hordes it loves to throw at you just to halt progression. Combine that with how stupidly long the levels can get and while the game does definitely push the systems it was launched on, a large amount of its areas still end up looking dead imo.

Hehe, yeah. Heroes nailed the classic Sonic artstyle, but in 3D. Save for the character models (which I still like despite the glossyness), the art direction is great. Heroes soundtrack is also one of my favorites of all times, Naofumi Hataya and Kenichi Tokoi sure are missed 😕 It's still my favorite 3D Sonic.

I would gush about how much I adore Heroes for its art style and aesthetic and its music oh my God its music is godly it hits that sweet spot of my fandom

its gameplay is hit or miss every now and then for me but I gots too much goodwill for it totally dissuading me from it

the character models yeah I'm kinda with y'all on that after all these years
