Journey Cross These Worlds (52% complete)
Instrumentals all the way through the second chorus is finished. Only a little advancement made on the lyrics. Made quite a jump from the last report. This last part was pretty easy because I only had to make minor adjustments for the second verse. Added in a couple of high pitched bells, new combos, and of course my signature synth instrument, Sky Synth (I've pretty much been using this since 2008). I am almost done writing the lyrics. Just half a verse to go. Maybe a little something in between the breakdown and the end. I do plan on putting in a small breakdown in between everything. Kinda like the layout to my last song, the Eggman theme I made for Sonic Legacy. Only a little more bunched together with the lyrics. I've been practicing when I get the chance, usually when I'm driving. I get really jazzy with some of these chords in the chorus. I gotta keep it intense though. So far, so good

Moving on up y'all! I was named an official contributor to Sonic Paradox this morning! But not just a contributor . . . I guess I'm kinda running the whole music department now! (there's not many of us atm. That's about to change)
Now I know what you're thinking. Doesn't it already count since you're in Sonic Legacy? Well, only sorta actually. Legacy is a branch of Paradox itself, something bigger.
It's quite the honor. I've been following these guys since high school, back before Sonic Paradox was Sonic Paradox, when everyone was their own independent. It's something I've actually wanted to be a part of for many years now. This is my chance! I'm going to do my best, just as always!
What a neat day

Journey Cross These Worlds (37% complete)
Lyrics partially recorded. It was a little more difficult than anything else I've ever done because I actually sing kinda fast, having to hit every word correctly can sometimes prove to be tongue twisting. I'm also having quite a problem with the quality of my mic. I've been learning a lot lately, so maybe I have the ability to fix it up to sound more authentic. I'm pretty sure it'll be ok. As for the instrumentals, things are indeed going a lot faster since I already have a base down. Verse two sounds very much the same with just a few things changed up to make it diverse. I've got some great ideas cooking in the ol' noggin. It's really starting to sound like an anime intro, and while I'm trying to at least keep it heavy sounding as well, I do like how it's turning out. I haven't done anything like this in SUCH a long time. And I'm loving it

Journey Cross These Worlds (29% complete)
Chorus backdrop is finished. Still got a ways to go with this. I can probably record a little bit and keep ahead. I'll need to get the other lyrics in as well. It'll come to me. I love having to come up with it. It's kinda like a puzzle. And it's been building my vocabulary a little bit too. I'm trying to keep away from being repetitive with the words. I've still got quite a bit of editing and changing up some instruments and what not. I've got a cool chord sequence in the chorus. It kinda sounds like an anime opening. I'm looking forward to singing it. I should probably get a vocal sample out there to the person that requested this piece. It's pretty cool so far. And not too complicated either, now that I've been learning so much. Things should be quicker at this point

Sonic Legacy - Our Legacy (Sonic Legacy Theme) (93% complete)
Lyrics have been finished and sent in for editing. Multiple people will be editing this project, in which the process has already commenced. I' will be taking the instrumentals and the guitars and editing them through, some others may join in for a few extra contributions. This project involves ALL of the current musicians in the Legacy team. There's like six of us going at it! It's kinda cool to be gathering everyone's takes and clips and mixing them together. I've also had to adjust a few things on my own side, adjusting volumes and what not. I've got a few ideas I would like to try out. There's plenty of time (to an extent). Others from the team from Serenity Seven have also joined in with the editing, and will probably be doing the final edits once everything is done. It won't be much longer. SpringsNRings didn't do too bad with the vocals. He added in his own things to add to the whole Crush 40 inspired feel we're all going for. Nailed it.

Journey Cross These Worlds (Journey Across Worlds Theme) (24% complete)
Instrumentals are done all the way up until right before the first chorus. First verse and chorus lyrics are written. There are now 10 loops in the books. Still making little adjustments here and here as I go. Bunch of different chord sequences. This song isn't like other songs I have written. It seems like every part has its own sequence of chords and note trills. I'm really going for the rock-techno fusion with this one, and I do hope it sounds ok to everyone else. Something sounds like it's missing right now though. Maybe it's the type of drums I'm using. They sound really cool though so I'm a little torn between decisions. There's Endless Possibilities with this one. Which, by the way, is also where I'm picking up some inspiration. Remember that remix I made for the SSMB Motobug Anniversary a few years back? I'm starting to remember some stuff I did from there that actually really work here. Also, further on down the road I'll be adding my signature synth, of course, the Sky Synth. I've found ways to make it all work. It's all about the time now. Big progress today

Journey Cross These Worlds (Journey Across Worlds Theme) (18% complete)
Part of the lyrics are written. It's pretty much starting to sound like a gamer's anthem. I accept this. Instrumental is coming together quite nicely. It sounds very electro-rock at this point. I know there's a couple things missing from what I have so far, but I'll touch that up once my ideas are all down. Can't afford to forget what's next. The important thing is that everything flows nicely while sounding as rocker as I can possibly make it.

Journey Cross The Worlds (Journey Across Worlds Theme) (12% complete)
Finally got a good intro complete. Up next is the backdrop for the lyrics. This is where I start deciding what more to write and all that. I just went over what needs to be done. I'll come up with something cool. I've got some cool rock-inspired sequences in mind. Now that I have most of the instruments set, this should be a snap. I'll still have to go as it develops, but that won't be a big challenge.

Tickets to Sonic Revolution 2019 on sale today! And I'm sharing this here now, because I just bought my ticket, got the days off from my job, and I'm hoping to see a few of you there! June 9th is the date of this actual event, but I'll be spending the whole week here
I don't know all the details and events here, but regardless I'm super excited. It's far time I made one of these events, and it will be the first time I've ever set foot in California in my life. Fingers crossed I get to show off some of my music here, but if not at least I get to mingle with the community, and maybe even some of the official contributors. This is going to be fun. I'M SO EXCITEEEEEEED!!!!

Happy Echidna Day to all my peeps
Remember if the echidna sees his shadow and starts chuckling, we get twelve (or so) weeks of waiting for Team Sonic Racing

We’ve already been waiting longer than that to see some actual gameplay so it would go along with the territory at this point.

Journey Cross The Worlds (Journey Across Worlds Theme) (6% complete)
A fellow colleague of mine, Shimshon, has just completed the ending theme for this series. I've gotta catch up! I decided to start over with this one. I didn't like the first intro I had. Same rules apply, fast paced minor track with intensity. My specialty. I seem to be doing a good job this time. Pianos with echo to kick us off. Intro isn't long at all. It's about 25 seconds before it actually takes off. I've got a good intro riff and a good bass riff, both of which are different and can be played different ways, and will be. I've got all sorts of chord sequences in mind and I've got to try and see which one works best. I'm really bringing the tensity in this one. As far as lyrics go, I know what I want but now I have to put it in words. I've got plenty of ideas just flowing with this one, I'm kinda getting my inspiration from watching anime. That's the sound I'm really going for. Wait and see which direction it goes
Below is Shimshon's track. It's pretty tight, but mine's gonna sound nothing like this XD

Sonic Advance - Secret Base (10% complete)
I do tend to find that getting a little bit of a side project in does help keep the mind right. And sometimes doing multiple projects at once does help utilize some ideas from others. But it is quite the challenge. I'm not quite getting the sound I'm looking for with this one, but it's super close. It sounds super secret at first. I want to keep that feeling going but it's all about figuring out which drum combinations I should use in the buildup and in the actual riff itself. At least I got the percussive bit down. Slowly but surely. It still sounds pretty cool so far. Electric organs, trumpets, brass synth, and acoustic bass to get us started. Right now it sounds more pop than cinematic. That'll change right quick. I'll be switching back and forth between projects. Still got a commission project waiting that I may need to restart. The big problem with beginning a project is how very basic everything is before you add all the details and adjustments. It's a process.

They taught me a lot about family throughout my life.
Families are meant to be tight. We know each other. We're there in the same world, chasing the same dreams. We're there to help each other get there. We help one another, through thick and thin. We laugh, we cry, we shout and scream together. And even though some of us don't see eye to eye, at the end of the day we're still there for each other. We trust each other. With our lives. Quite literally. We don't let another's ego tear that apart, no matter how bad it can be. We should cherish one another as we cherish each moment in our very lives.
It's how the world SHOULD be. It's how it COULD be. I truly believe that! This is how I see SSMB. This is how I see the Sonic fandom. United by a mutual love, whether it be wrestling, Sonic, Star Trek, Kingdom Hearts (shoutout to those who are playing it today), it doesn't even have to be a mutual love for something. Hell, we all live on this planet! Life!
Shouldn't we all be there for each other?
PS We gave Austin all the money. Merch sales, tickets, even my payout. Gladly and proudly

I've got a lot going on lately. The Sonic Legacy Eggman theme has hit 6,000 listens and the Legacy channel itself has just passed 3,000 subscribers. I'm pretty happy about that. With that and the Legacy Theme itself, I'll be free for a while. I've also got a commission request going, and it's doing ok. But I'm gonna need to keep the ideas fresh, and the music juices flowing, so I'm gonna do another remix. I'm nearing 100 songs, and I've got some big plans for that #100. Things are getting exciting in the world of Pauly B. And I'm loving it. That being said, let's start what may eventually end up as #99
STARTING PROJECT: Sonic Advance - Secret Base (2% complete)
6 minute track 90%, Editing 10%
Had a tune pop into my head for a sick remix of this. I was thinking of practicing some other styles when I came up with it. Perfect for something like this. I want this to sound like an actual secret base, so I'm pumping up the dramatics with this one. It's slowed down to 116 BPM for now, where I might speed it up just a tad bit, but definitely stay in this area. LOTS of percussion planned. I start to think of Sean Callery, composer for many of my favorite dramas like "24" and "Bones". I had this same inspiration when I wrote "Imagine That", a recent track I contributed to Aaron Webber's indy project, where I made my very own electronic percussive drum kit. And it worked out so well, I'm using it again. I'm going to be treating this as a side project for now, as there is a priority or two I should spend most of my focus on. But still . . . it's different, and I think y'all will still like it.
-
Glad things are going well for you amid your full plate lol. As always I’m looking forward to hearing what you come up with 🙂

STARTING PROJECT: Project 97 (Journey Across The World) (3% complete)
My first commission in like . . . well, ever, I used to do requests for free in what I like to call the "old era" . . . and this one's really no different actually. A YouTuber friend of mine wants me to make a song for his show, Journey Across Worlds. It's been a minute since I've been able to actually get this off the ground. Ideas and focuses and what not. I've owed this guy a favor for quite a bit. Turns out the Drum 'n Bass style is something they wanted. Something a little hardcore, so to say. Simple, straight forward. It'll help keep the juices flowing too
-
Sonic Forces - Sunset Heights (Sonic Legacy VIP) (POSTPONED)
It is unfortunate but I'm gonna have to put this on the back burner for a minute. One of the key elements to making this song work is the voice dub/video, as I have to time it with the video itself. The Sonic Legacy team is currently shooting retakes, and I'll be able to pick this back up when those are done. Totally ok with me, more time to come up with ideas, amirite? I'm still looking forward to doing this one. It won't be long. It just means the final product is gonna be amazing
-
You know what they say: you can’t rush art so if you feel postponing this is for the best then you are likely right. I just hope you don’t forget about it as enjoyable Forces music is a rarity for me sadly.

Sonic Legacy - Our Legacy (Sonic Legacy theme) (86% complete)
Lyrics are finished being written, and I've recorded my part. We've actually found a singer that sounds closer to Gioeli. His name is Cody James, aka SpringsNRings. He's a singer for an independent band that's somewhat popular amongst Sonic fans, "Serenity Seven". They've worked with Jun Senoue once. I'll be posting one of their songs in this status. I mean, these guys are pretty impressive and I look forward to hearing what they provide in this track. My part is done for now. I now await what SpringsNRings can come up with. I'M SO EXCITEEEEEDDDD!!!!!
-
NEW PROJECT: Sonic Forces - Sunset Heights (0% complete)
Target 6 minutes (90%) Editing (10%)
I'm doing this remix for Sonic Legacy to use in the video of their first issue. The only stipulations are that it has to be "beachy" and I have to time it with the story and the voice acting. I've been coming up with a few ideas over the past few days but I haven't had much time to actually get it down. Work has been pretty hectic as of late. Well now's my chance! Also, I love remixing Ohtani's work because we pretty much share the same Drum 'n Bass genre as our strongpoint. It leaves a lot of room for innovation.

https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/841908
Composed, lyrics written and performed by: Pauly B
Extra contributions: Fleetway
Icon Art by: RushSonic The Hedgehog (TM) is property of SEGA Enterprises
Sonic Legacy (TM) is property of Sonic ParadoxMy first official contribution to Sonic Legacy! I decided to take on the task of composing a theme for Dr. Eggman in this up-and-coming web-series! The point was to make a mix of sound styles, with the orchestral Eggman theme from Sonic ’06, an intense feeling from Eggman’s theme from Sonic Adventure 2, and my own little twist of Drum ‘n Bass. It features a few orchestral MIDIs along with plenty of customized synths, and completely original lyrics.
Trumpets and strings in the beginning to give it a darker feel before it really pops off. The YEEHAW was inspired by Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, as that was his line in the game. I’m learning quite a bit by just exploring equalizers and finding new sounds, and learning how to better adjust then in-pattern. Hence the futuristic sounding synths. Tried to keep it intense, what I really pictured was a hostile robot takeover in action. Something that fits the attitude that lets you know that Eggman means business.
I received a lot of external help from the Sonic Legacy crew, fixing up knicks and smoothing things over. It took quite a bit of time and a lot of extra ears to oversee that this is as good as it can get. I am a little nervous about how well my voice is going to go over. I tried my best to sing it out and edit it properly. I even learned a few things along the way, mostly about how most raw files need to be compressed to even things out. I spent a lot of time editing each and every individual waveform, every consonant and vowel. I am now more easily identifying starts and ends, and I’m paying attention to every detail down to the last 1/1000th of a second to keep it smooth and not jumpy. It helps
Eggman Army come forth! Arise! Get down to the jams and party it up robot style! And hey . . . thanks for the listen! Here’s to the future! Don't forget to check out everything Sonic Legacy at https://tapas.io/series/Sonic-Legacy and join the Discord channel at https://discord.gg/tdxmJv2
LYRICS:
YEE-HAW!You’ve taken everything
I used to be, away from me
You left me broken down and shakenIt’s boiling up inside
This pain I feel’s become so real
It hurts so much and I can’t take itMy vengeance is burning
You will see a side of me I just can’t hide
My time is approaching
You could never stop me even if you tryKeep your fear
Take your sorrow
It’s too late for you to leave it all behind
And when you see my face, you will know your place
You will pay when I take over for all time
When the world is mine (x2)Now I'm coming and I'm headed your way
There's nothing you can change, nothing you can say
I'm gonna take over and it starts today (x2)
LET'S GO!Keep your fear
Take your sorrow
It’s too late for you to leave it all behind
And when you see my face, you will know your place
You will pay when I take over for all time
When the world is mine (x4)
