  1. The general mood of things this close to release seems kind of dour, but I've been real limited in what discussions I want to view. I'm curious for those of you who spoiled Mania for yourselves, are your impressions high or do they fall on the side of disappointment? No spoilers please and thanks, just kind of want to get an imprssion.

I'm a little dissapointed in the way they have chosen the zones and the ratio.

Would you say they at least look fun to play or ehhhh.

Didn't watch too much footage of them to kinda have a surprise.

Sometimes is just like "Did they really choose this over that?". Also the ratio is the main dissapointing fact.

I've been paying attention to the spoilers from the start and honestly, the only negative thing I keep thinking about is that there's such a small number of new zones.

4, really? I'm more than okay with the returning zones, hell I don't even mind that much that there's more of that than the new ones, but we should have at least gotten 6. Y'know, the average number of zones in the original games? It's just baffling.

But I guess the Act 2s of the returning zones being remixed might make up for it. I haven't really watched much footage (ironically the most I've seen of non-officially-revealed material is the final boss, lol.)

@Celestia Yeah maybe the remake levels compensate for that by being extremely good, but when I saw that

      Flying Battery

straight up lifted swatches of the original's layout similar to Green Hill, I kind of abandoned my belief in their oft repeated promise that Green Hill would be the "most tame." That's the sort of thing that just deflates me and suspect that they probably won't make up for the dismal amount of all new zones.

      The Deleter

After learning about a potential revision to the stage count from the chaos emerald boss (dunno for sure as I don't want to spoil it any further for myself) I'm satisfied enough. If it turns out to be incorrect, I'm prepared, but I've come to accept that the game is this small on the new stage front.

My hopes for the game are still pretty high, though. Original stage themes aren't exactly everything, especially with gameplay like this.
