  1. The whole Toys for Bob / CoD situation is so messy. Brilliant artists, art directors, writers, all left after Activision's decision to turn the studio into a CoD support team. According to the professionals themselves, they didn't got fired, but simply left in good terms. I admit I would too if I had their talent. Generic shit like Cod doesn't deserve these guys. Nothing against the ones who stayed at TFB, bills have to be paid and sometimes you don't have the luxury to just quit, but I still can't digest what happened. Just seeing their logo with the CoD motif makes me sick.

      Chili Dawg

Even their name sounds too silly and whimsical to be on Call of Duty

Should've been renamed to Guns for Bob /smh

    3. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

To be fair, COD's main audience consist of little kids and Bobs, so it make sense to become developers of their favorite "Toy".

  2. Say what you will about Marvel, but these bastards KNOW how to hype. Holy. Shit.

And here I am, still trying to motivate myself to start recapping phase 2

  3. If this is the -second- end for Crash and Spyro (I still hold some hope), I can't say I didn't enjoyed these 4 years to the max.

They could've been better, but they were certainly better than nothing.

Considering the name of the company who owned the IPs (which I could never digest), I'd say it was above and beyond better than nothing. Activision surely surprised, for good and for bad (of course we as humans always remember the bad first). They got good studios to do these games and gave them almost complete freedom to explore their worlds, characters, lore, but in the end, it's still business as usual. Activision gets a lot of shit, but I think they did a lot of good with Crash, Spyro and THPS despite their usual crap in the middle. It's not like every company isn't like that either. Except Insomniac Games. They're truly GOAT.

  4. Everyone's getting their second dose, while I'm here literally a year away from my first x(

Well, if it makes you feel any better, it'll be sometime before I get my first. Maybe two or more months. They should be giving the jab to my sisters age range right now but she hasn't gotten the call yet.

My Dad had his second yesterday so at least my most vulnerable family members have had both at the moment.

  5. I'll be down for a REAL Iron Fist if Marvel wants to introduce him in Shang-Chi

      Nast

after the sequel has perhaps my favorite soundtrack out of any game, but i never thought the game itself was that great (no disrespect to LakeFeperd). so it's mania all the way for me. though i'd be curious to read an argument in favor of ATS

    6. Lord-Dreamerz

      Lord-Dreamerz

Well ATS did have mostly fully original zone themes & boss fights. So depending on one's tastes that may win a point over Mania which was yet another game with revisited zones & other ideas.

      @Nast

    7. Milo

      Milo

a fair amount of the bosses and a few zones in mania were new though, but alright

i think mania has the better gameplay and level design overall, but ats's presentation makes it a really strong competitor

if either of the two are behind the other, they aren't that far off

    8. BadBehavior

      BadBehavior

What Dreamerz said. ATS isn't nostalgia pandering so that gets the point for me.

    9. Milo

      Milo

      @BadBehavior mania isn't nostalgia pandering either. :\

if you want to dock points against mania for being mostly old content that's all fine and dandy; but mania's actually sincere in it being a tribute to the old games. go check out sonic 4 or forces if you want want to slam a sonic game that's purely using nostalgia to bait people into buying the product.

    10. Red

      Red

ATS for me. Not just for the soundtrack but the story as well. Sonic trying to stop Eggman's weather control station is just nostalgic for me. Plus the Super Sonic finale is more epic. ATS just means a lot to me and I have a lot of nostalgia for it.

  7. So I heard the new MK movie is garbage. Well done, Warner.

    1. pppp

      pppp

I would say it's decent overall, it's not boring and Kano is prety funny on it, it's the plot decisions and the boring new character that bring it down.

    2. DanJ86

      DanJ86

I've not been paying attention to it but I do get the feeling its had mixed reactions. I haven't seen it but learned about the story changes and OC lead which put me off.

    3. HPX

      HPX

I think calling it decent is being a bit generous. It's obviously a low budget, low-effort attempt to add content to HBO Max by capitalizing on a brand people know.

It lacks any confidence or understanding of its source material and the entire film is bafflingly concerned with explaining the supernatural in excruciating detail with awkward additions to established lore, as if it's completely oblivious to the decade+ people have been watching superhero films where special powers are just taken for granted.

I kind of knew it was dead on arrival as soon as I was aware that they had made the incredible decision to create a new character for the audience surrogate. That kind of cluelessness was the red flag that told me this was gonna be a train wreck. Still though, it's fun to imagine that Cole was someone's Mortal Kombat self-insert OC brought to life.

  8. Oh man, the vaccination in here just keeps on giving, check it out: the Minister of Health just said today that they're nearly out of doses to send to a lot of states, which means millions of people may not get their second dose in time, not to mention the people who won't even get their first dose to begin with! Such news to start the week.

  9. Nice, apparently I'm only getting my first dose in over a year

    1. Jovahexeon The Undyne

      Jovahexeon The Undyne

Wait what??? It got pushed back that far!?

    2. Jango

      Jango

Yup, the ministry of health keeps cutting down the number of doses to be distributed to each state every week, which means less and less people will get it this year. The government negotiated the doses too late, refused all offers from Pfizer back in mid 2020 and it's still pushing the hydroxychloroquine pills to the population. We have the worst possible type of people to deal with a pandemic right now. At least 90 thousand deaths could've been avoided had the president accepted Pfizer's offer last year, but he didn't because this vaccine "could turn people into alligators", according to himself (yes, he ACTUALLY said that).

Living in Brazil right now is waking up everyday and being further and further from hope.

  10. Sonic was the last film I've watched in a movie theater before the pandemic and Sonic 2 could well be the first one after. If the pandemic ever ends in Brazil, that is. I have my doubts.

Same, then during the lull in September my local cinema in attempts to bring people back would show classic films, I went to see the original Jurassic Park. First time seeing it in 26 years.

The lyrics don't feel so right

I've never seen to sing this right, I'll keep on tryiiiiiing

    2. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

I like Reach for the Stars, including the vocals. But the actual lyrics are a bit too on the nose, repetitive and dry for my tastes. Ohtani wrote the song and the melody, and then Alexander Makhlouf had to come up work lyrics to fit it. His thought prices throughout was firstly just "Sonic can, there are stars in space and the game is called Sonic Colours".

    3. Jango

      Jango

Tropical Resort should've been the main theme, because it's so good. I like Speak with your Heart too, even if it's corny as hell (but who am I to say, I love Follow Me and We Can hehehe)

  12. The Sonic Mania Adventures video on YT (All Episodes) has over 77 MILLION VIEW. 77.000.000 views. Holy damn.

  14. Does anyone remembers Marvel Nemesis? It was a pretty dark arena fighter with Marvel characters, and it was... Pretty good actually. I remember playing it a lot with a friend from high school.

Dunno wich version you played, but i'm not sure i can agree on that.

    2. Jango

      Jango

I played the PS2 version hahaha I recall having fun in versus mode. Magneto was awesome

    3. Mr Loopone

      Mr Loopone

Played Marvel Nemesis but got rid of the Gamecube version. Versus mode isn't too bad because it is pretty much Marvel's Power Stone but the single player was short levels (about 2-3 minutes each), beat em up stages that honestly were a bit dull and the graphics were not appealing. I got up to the boss battle with Mystique and from that point... ugh... It's one of those bosses made hard on purpose and the flaws really kick in with the collision detection, fighting mechanics and there might have also been lag/input issues. Special move spam was also a thing where sometimes I didn't much of an opportunity to attack.

The Gamecube/PS2/Xbox and the PSP versions are different games. Same maps but the PSP version was more comic book presented and more like the game Jango was talking about where it is a one on one fighter. It was like making the VS mode into the main game.

  15. Remember when I said I'll get my first dose in 9 months? Not anymore! 11 months and 20 days now! Thanks, President! Really smart move to decline 70 million doses when Pfizer offered you in July of 2020. Now we're left in the dust as the number of deaths goes higher and higher every month, with even younger people dying because of the more deadly variant.

He sounds like a terrible leader. He needs to get out.

    2. Jango

      Jango

He doesn't sound like one, he IS one. Think Trump, but worse, a middle ground between him and Hitler, I'd say. But even Hitler cared for Germany or something, Bolsonaro does not care for Brazil or its people, not even the people who did elected him in 2018. He is systematically sabotaging every effort against the virus, he is deliberately killing us with every action. Not just him, but his ministers too. Just to give you an idea, this is our minister of the environment, you know, the person responsible for taking care of the Amazon and stop illegal deforestation: https://www.redebrasilatual.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/ricardo-salles-madeira-ilegal.jpg

And it doesn't stop there, I could write an essay on how bad it feels to live here after Bolsonaro became president, but I guess you read it on the news every day. I can guarantee you this though, actually living here is even worse than what you read.

  16. I realized I still like Spider-man 3.

    1. Jango

      Jango

I just wish the movie was entirely focused on Sandman and the black suit arc, because it makes perfect sense by the end when Pete forgives Sandman for killing uncle Ben.

    2. Kamakai

      Kamakai

honestly? Me too. some of it is ironic appreciation for stuff like the emo dance scene, but I watched this movie on repeat as a kid and I still love Sandman’s arc. Gives Peter a great character moment at the end there too

Spider-Man 3 is a good movie IMO, just heavily flawed.

    4. Azure Blue Tori

      Azure Blue Tori

Really, Peter in that movie is the pure embodiment of a dorky teenager trying to act cool and I love it for that reason. It's no wonder Spider-Verse paid homage to the infamous dance scene.

I can't see Zemo not being used again, he was way too popular in this show. Hope he's on one of these teams.

  19. Just played 4 levels of Crash 2 (N-Sane Trilogy) and holy crap, Crash controls like ASS. Now that we have Crash 4 to compare, I'm really glad that Toys for Bob tweaked the controls and hope we never go back.

  23. Talk about a blast from the past: https://imgur.com/a/Y85ZVfV I remember vividly when these screenshots leaked in 2008. I was ULTRA excited for this new game.

      PC the Hedgehog

I remember when they just randomly uploaded a trailer of Sonic gameplay with no indication of what game it belonged to and the fandom went nuts. Then the werehog was revealed and the fandom went even more nuts.

Personally, I was a big fan of the Sonic 06 game reveal. Man, the first screenshots looked amazing. Oh, what could have been.
