  1. Not to be mean to any Sticks fan, but what would be a nice way to flesh out her character outside of being the conspiracy theorist.

I mean let's be fair here.

That's already more than what 75% of the other cast members have

      Change her profession/hobby.

With the wild, naturalistic hermit angle, she still comes off more as a stereotype suited more for humor than a mere character with cartoony quirks. Again drawing parallels with Vector, he's a greedy money-driven croc, but his profession is as a Detective, which almost runs directly opposite to his personality in a way. It also draws out his more softhearted side. Maybe give her a role in leading something, to have in juxtaposition to her inherent paranoia, but keep it nature-related to not stray too far from her roots?

Or change her paranoia angle if the naturalistic angle is more valuable. I dunno. Depends on what people like her more for.

I'm not a Sticks fan, so I can't really speak for them tbh

@The Deleter Plus, her being against the government doesn't make sense since she grew up in the wild for most of her life.

Admittedly, she kinda already does have a character outside of being a conspiracy theorist.

I mean, sure her paranoia was her most marketed feature, but over the course of Boom and her comic participation, she's got quite a bit.

She's by no means a blank slate.

@Jovahexeon Ghost Trick Not to diss you or anything, but could you name some examples. I can be pretty slow sometimes.

Well, there was the episode where she struggles to become well-mannered. She wants to be accepted by society (ironically).

She's a wild child, but isn't too against trying to adapt for her friends at times.

Give her convictions, goals, and attitudes, then give her things that challenge those convictions, goals, and attitudes.  Use her conspiracy theories to fuel greater lessons.

King of the Hill's Dale Gribble is a great example of this.  In one episode, Dale somehow gets it stuck in his head that his son, Joseph, was born as a result of an alien impregnating his wife. (Not entirely untrue, because Joseph was born from an affair, but he doesn't know that)  Through a series of events that feed into his side as a conspiracy theorist, Dale learns that regardless of who actually gave birth to Joseph, his real father will always be Dale Gribble, because it was Dale that raised him.

It also helps that Dale's conspiracies aren't the ONLY thing about him.  He's also pretty over-the-top and has INCREDIBLE delusions of grandeur, which also feed into his conspiracy theories, because his conspiracies speak volumes of the kind of person he thinks he is. (Like, the fact that he even thinks the government would conspire against him shows us that he apparently considers himself pretty important, despite the relatively small role he plays in the lives of others)

The problem with Sticks isn't that she's a conspiracy theorist first and foresmot, but that this facet of her character is relegated mostly to throwaway jokes and noodle incidents, rather than being a central part of her character and plots surrounding her character.

@Tara Like for example, make it so that actual government agents are snooping around her place (maybe GUN/guys related to a museum because of the dangerous ruins/artifacts, and they're searching for something), but they're not trying to spook her intentionally or even going after her, just trying to avoid drawing attention to their work. And maybe the reason she talks about violins and television despite not always knowing what they are is because when she was younger, she tried to learn from her ancestor's journals and dictionaries, but due to time eroding away the pages, she got definitions completely mixed up, and thus when she says "violins" or "televisions", she actually thinks it means something else, like mind control devices or instruments of destruction/ancient artifacts.

Basically, her paranoia is justified out of not being sure what they're doing near her home despite her never really interacting with them, and the latter is due to her being surprisingly curious and wanting to learn more, but due to a lack of education and no one ever really correcting her mistakes she doesn't know what something actually means until someone else comes along to clarify.

Conspiracy theorist isn’t a bad aspect—if she was introduced around Adventure era, that would actually be a major role for her in SA2 given the whole conspiracy theme going on innthat game.

If anything, it would be a lot better if she was actually proactive and more engaging with the events instead of just being crazy for the sake of humor. I can see her conspiracy theorist shtick being used to unravel whole...well, conspiracies, or secrets entirely on accident or by being right but with the wrong clues or answer. Something like that.

Other than that, maybe Prof. Pickles’ field assistant if they use him more.

I'd love to see her reaction to GUN agents
