  1. Well seems my sour mood of the month has settled in and nothing seems to be countering it. Even having an episode of Mania Adventures today isn't helping. In fact I'm honestly feeling more apprehensive about it than excited. Of course that just may be because I'm a bit of a scrooge in the regard that I really can't stand the holiday season and episode six is holiday themed. And now I'm rambling again. *Sigh*

Guess it just ain't for you. I'm not gonna try to force you to enjoy the season if you don't like it.

Appreciate that Failin'. It's nice just having someone respect that and not having to explain to them why only to pretty much be insulted for my perspective and feelings.

      I wouldn’t say you’re rambling as you’re expressing yourself.

And sorry to hear you aren’t in the best of moods. Are you aware of anything else bothering you or is it simply because of the time of the year and things associated with that?

No problem, man. Sometimes the season just isn't for everyone. I'm not gonna question it.

Could be that, as well as some my more irrational fears, but more likely than not it really is just my monthly bad mood. Crazy as it sounds at least once a month, sometimes twice, I will enter a really nasty and depressive mood where I just can't be bothered to care about anything including my own quality of life. The worst thing about it is that usually I have persistent suicidal thoughts during these moods as well and really no way to address them. Sure my insurance covers seeing a therapist, or at least talking to one on the phone, but accessibility is always a problem and since this mood usually passes I'd rather focus my energy on trying to find something to make it pass sooner than talking to someone when the very idea of talking to a "professional" gets under my skin.

It's not your fault for feeling that way and it's completely understandable if you want to be left alone or focus on something else to try to get better for the next couple of weeks. You're not rambling, your expressing your emotions and its okay since I'm the same in some ways. It is also a shame that very few people actually respect our decisions rather than force the holiday season down our throats like most people, the only ones that they don't usually celebrate a different religion that has no December holiday and good luck finding anyone online/where you live that has the same thought.

I mean our family doesn't celebrate Christmas because it makes my mom really really depressed. Even my dad and I aren't keen on the season either with its various issues, depressing atmosphere and our health declining. Actually thinking about it, I thought that I was the only one here who isn't keen on the holiday season.

Yeah, I've always celebrated Christmas from a religious viewpoint (usually just a prayer of thanks for God sending someone to welcome in those to his kingdom who weren't already directly a part of it) but the commercialization, rampant hypocrisy on full display, total disrespect of everyone and anything which doesn't follow the holiday tradition, and the constant enforcement of a strict imagery of the time of year which only works for a small part of the world (I live in a desert so a white Christmas is kind of a joke when everything looks the same year round) just gets under my skin. I could add more and more reasons to this list but that would probably be getting unnecessarily bitter and that won't really help my mood any, or likely anyone else's.

Sorry for the late reply but it’s absolutely chaos for me at work and will be so for the next 2 weeks due to these holidays.

That’s unfortunate that you have a bout of bad moods on a monthly basis. Especially with it getting as bad as it does. I totally empathize with the desire not to speak to a professional about these things. In addition to the talking to a stranger factor there is hardly any genuine personal interest if any from them and that just makes the whole experience both uncomfortable and pointless.

I’d rather talk to a trusted friend that can handle my heavy burdens. In turn that’s why I extend myself the way I do to help others because the same way is what I desire.

As for the holiday thing I can see how that can take a toll on you. Those that simply are on the receiving end of it and that being the only thing that they care about won’t understand what grievances others have with it. The sense of it among other things have been lost mainly due to selfishness with the commercialization of it all more than anything else.

And keep in mind you are free to express yourself even if it’s something unpopular. Only disclaimer to that it shouldn’t be anything offensive or along the lines of trolling.
