  1. I can't believe this. There are people literally BASHING and CRITICISING Nintendo for Cease and Desisting a leaker named Sabi from leaking their entire direct. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!!!!!

Listen. For taking down roms and fangames, I totally understand.

But to defend a person that was opening willing to spoil all the excitement they're hiding so people don't have to watch it?

In the sake of fairness - Nintendo have painted a really bad portrait of themselves for doing cease and desists, especially when they go after fan creators. Metroid 2 Remake is still an especially hot topic given Nintendo had their remake in development for at least months and waited for the remake to be done before ceasing and desisting it.

So in this instance - where personally I'd say Nintendo are in fully in the right to do this in order to stop leaks, people are automatically gonna side against Nintendo because of the many many many times they did this unjustly.

I feel like people should be able to differentiate that stuff better, though. Going apeshit because "Cease and desist" and "Nintendo" are in the same sentence together is just silly.

Those that spoil, suck. It's a universal concept. I don't see the problem with telling an annoying person to shut up because they're ruining the experience for others.

It's what happens when you piss off so many people so many times doing that stuff. If you've shown you've got no problem going after innocents with that, then no one is gonna stick up for you on the very few instances you're doing it for the right cause.

Nintendo have screwed over so many people, and likely will continue to screw over so many more people that they don't want to take their side on the one instance they're right to be ceasing/deceasing.

I get the fan projects and romsites. They deserve every bit of criticism for those. But we're talking about a LEAKER!. And not just any leaker. https://twitter.com/new_wabisabi?lang=en

This guy( or gal I'm not sure because I don't follow this person) has leaked a lot of information from various conferences, especially from Microsoft and Bethesda. This person even just recently leaked a game from Square Enix's show. Nintendo is the only one as of right now that hasn't got anything leaked.

And I'm not saying they aren't in the right for doing it to this leaker. Nintendo should be stopping leaks, and this is the one instance where they were right to cease and desist him. But again, when you've done it wrongfully so many times over, no one will bother to step up for the one time you're in the right for doing so.

People don't care if Nintendo's in the right this time because Nintendo's been in the wrong for doing it so many times in the past, and they don't care if Nintendo's done the right thing or not because they've done it so many times before to simply screw someone over. When that situation happens, people will take the emotional response over the rational response, and the emotional response automatically connects this right cease and desist with the many other wrong cease and desists.

At this rate, people will call out Nintendo even if they shoot down one those parody Nintendo games made by PETA just because some people thought it was "fun to play"

I don't have any sympathy for people who leak shit they're not supposed to and break NDAs. I don't see any reason to fault Nintendo here this time.

    10. Thigolf

My point still stands: If you can't step back and look at the actual situation, you're simply being irrational and overemotional. Immediately yelling at a company because the mere concept of something is involved is just weird.

I'd understand it as a gut reaction in the first spur of the moment, but the people on the internet complaining about that stuff had time to type everything and hit Send - at that point, it's just irrational.

If (IF) what various people around resetera are saying holds water, this sabi character may have gotten the leaks through not so legal methods.
