Yep, it's unacceptable if there are 6-7 reused tracks, the game really lacks content and is the definition of lazy IMO, like only 14 new tracks? You know what is even more disappointing? That if true, they basically revealed 10 out of 14 (new), leaving out any room for surprises...
The only thing that gives me hope is the Green Hill sign, could mean a new track for the Seaside Hill world maybe?
Back to praising the Crash remaster...

I think the reason, why they have gotten rid of G.U.N. is because, that this is a new incarnation of Sonic's world, where humans do not longer exist. Since Sonic Colors it seems that Sega wants to focus more on the old concept, where you only have animals, robots and supernatural beings that inhabit Sonic's world with Dr. Eggman been the only human. This is the reason why GUN and Maria are no longer canon to the series.

Well, people just love the character of Sonic so much. This is what keeps him alive. It was the character that sold the games but never the games themselves. Even Mario and Zelda would have died out if they started with that many bad games in their lineups. But not Sonic. The character is just to be loved by fans.

Sonic isn't really a niche franchise in my eyes. Not at all. Viva Pinata and Grabbed by the Ghoulies are niche, since not many people did heard of those games. Heck, I would even say, that games like DKC, Banjo-Kazooie, F-Zero, and Metroid more niche franchises compare to Sonic are. Sonic is a property that is always present every year. And the reason for this is because people keep him relevant somehow: Fanarts, fanfics, fan videos, animated TV shows, the upcoming movie, officially animated shorts form Sega that they can put on their Youtube channel, fan movies like those made by Dorkly, the official Sonic Twitter account, the official comics from Archie (formerly) and now IDW, youtube celebrities like the GameGrumps who make fun of the series (they are now playing SA2 on their channel), popular memes like the Sanic and Uganda Knuckles etc. all of those things keep the series alive.
No other series in the world is so much involved in other things besides the own game series than Sonic. Hardcore fans will always come back to Sonic, since they love the characters so much. This luxury has no other game series. If the next Crash or Spyro game fails, then yeah, they are once again gone, maybe forever, because there is nothing to come back for. People love those games because they are good games. Sonic, on the other hand, doesn't need to have good games to sell, he just needs everything else that surrounds the games.
So yeah, short story, Sonic is in my eyes no niche, since so many people know him from some were.

Well that was good and fun! SEGA has a bunch of people that care for Sonic, not just the classic one, at their disposal right now. The animations had fun antics and on-character moments. I don't see anything offensive about it, unlike... mostly everything Forces does. I know this is an animation group and you can't possibly ask them to make a game, but it's nice to see that SEGA is getting people with hearts on the right place and outsiders, which includes musicians as well (not that Sonic ever needed better ones, but still, some fresh blood is welcome). I wish the people at Sonic Team that are actually making the games would be like that...

Bit of a shame to see it's based on TSR, which is, uh, definitely not the most interesting thing that Sonic has done (e: I'll gladly take it over a Forces cartoon tho'). Still, first episode was pretty good, visuals seemed a little odd at times but it was fun and I enjoyed seeing Big get some attention.

In your dreams. They missed the chance of promoting the game. The only reason it will sale maybe a few copies is just because of the Sonic name itself.

Did someone just ask when Sonic Team's doing another Sonic generations type celebration game again?
We had nothing but Generations type games this decade. Team Sonic Racing is Generations on wheels for #*%&'s sake. Was that question sarcastic?

See the thing with infinite some do not understand. As usual Sega created a character who on paper sounded neat but if they truly wrote him as they described and presented him should have been broken op. he took out sonic as if it was noting when they first met. He could create illusions of nearly anything and some that actually could kill you. He was able to fight All of sonics friends and created a sun just to get rid of them. But just cause suddenly a random nameless character holds hands with sonic ( i mean they do) they are able to be him. No real power ups just friendship power and this god like character loses. Now had sonic gone super or even hype it be easier to understand but no just regular sonic. just like regular sonic being perfect choas in generations. Sega forgets their characters powers sometimes.

Maybe. But I do not think it will be a major 3D game like Lost World and Forces. I think it will be either a mobile game or maybe Sonic Mania 2.

Segas all about the money. Unless shes in a compalation gsme she most likely would get no show time especially seeing how as I stated little popularity she has in Japan. Heck I've seen more silver merchandise than blaze.  even more Chao material. I miss my chaos

If sega were ever going to make spinoff games again I honestly expect amy or shadow again. This isnt 90s sega who were confident in their games, had a large ad presence and were taken series. From cereal to soup. Sega was at their prime and people cared so they could invest in a knuckles choatix there and a tails adventure here. these days where sega struggles with the sonic games themselves and flies in people that normally bash their games just cause they have a large audience presence  sega probably wont risk much unless sonic is in it. And they will try to add classic sonic in as well if its 3d. Sadly at least in my eyes Sega sells sonic on name alone. Forget quality.  people will buy it cause its Sonic. Now if the franchise was like Mario I could see us getting a solo knuckles or silver game. And just cause Amy likes being a girl doesnt mean her own game could not hold up. Pico hammers all day!

I don't think any of the characters could hold an whole (sub)series on their own, and that includes Blaze, who despite having an whole dimension for herself, IMO is not worth exploring any further as it isn't exactly that much different from Sonic's to stand out.
Personally, I think the most that any character can realistically get is some spotlight/roles/playable appearances in future games. And even then, they can't just be thrown in without any consideration (like Knuckles for most of the modern era... or Shadow in the Boom universe) unless it is a spinoff game like Team Sonic Racing, as characters need to have a reason/motive to show up, a role to perform so they can help advance the story and in the case of being playable, something positive to add to the gameplay experience.

As much as I like Blaze...probably not. Even before considering Blaze herself, the Sonic series has already done a lot to poison its own reputation, and mascot platformers are not exactly the "in" thing anymore. I'd be surprised if any Sonic character could carry a spinoff series as things currently stand. And again, I like Blaze, but she doesn't really set herself apart from Sonic much. Her gameplay is the same kind of high-speed acrobatics, her villain (regardless of which you pick) is a variant of Eggman, she's got her own set of magic rocks that can grant her a powered-up form. This works pretty well within the Sonic series where you can leverage the fact that she's basically parallel-Sonic, but if she got her own separate series it could end up feeling pretty redundant. They could make up entirely new stuff for her games, of course, but then you're rolling the dice on new ideas, not really making use of what Blaze already offers.
If they felt they could get away with a Blaze spinoff I'd still absolutely like to see it, though.

    I dunno.
I don't think anyone wants to follow a tsundere cat princess.
She doesn't get along with others, so people may be put off by her stand-offish nature.
That might also affect how consumers feel as well, probably not a very good idea, in this random opinion.

To be honest. It could have been worst. I mean, this is the mentality of this series for years. You can't expect anything really good anymore of this franchise, just stuff that is not as awful as before.

And this might be even the saddest thing of this story. It could be a good game in its own rights, but they really don't sell it well. It would be sad if it fails, if the game is good.

I think it's hilariously sad that they actually confirmed customisation (right down to vehicle appearance) months and months ago before the game was delayed, but it's news to the die-hard fans on this site because we haven't seen it heard anything about it until this random Japanese retail stand. This game honestly looks and sounds quite good, but it's being sent out to die.

Rowl reacted to Strickerx5 in Visiting Tokyo with Arin (Game Grumps) & Jirard The Completionist!
I can honestly see what they were trying to go for with Jirard as, from what I’ve seen, his videos have often been way more fair and balanced than anything. Though Arin on the other hand... yeah, probably not the brightest idea in having him be the face of your game/brand at any point. The guy is known for shitting on the frnachise. Even if he is an actual fan of the series, he sure doesn’t portray that side all that often. Hell, both him and Jirard don't even look remotely interested in what’s going on for most of the video.
This whole “get critics in to promote content” thing only works when the brand is healthy and actually has good content to promote. I can tell you right now that the first of that isn’t remotely in Sonic’s favor currently and TSR doesn't look to be shaping up any better. Ya know, from what they actually choose to show of the damn game.
They spent more time going over what they brought at that store than showing the actual game. The actual fuck?
Like I'm sorry. I want to be optimistic with this game but literally just about everything they do with it outside of the music has been trying its hardest to get me turned off. I get the draw of having two big YouTubers in your video but someone should've seen that this wasn't the right move when filming it. Let alone going over the footage to edit it. Sure, go ahead and get that short amount of spotlight with the stars of the vid looking dead throughout 95% of it and not even showing the damn game.
What does it say about my feelings towards this entire thing when I think that the delay might've been some of the best news they put at this point?
    ... this isn't good...

Literally never be that guy. You'd just be yelling at some poor person trying to make ends-meat that can't do a bloody thing about it (and probably hasn't even seen the video).
