  1. It really seems like it is. In all honestly, I'm surprisingly OK with the new characters. Even though I'm not really a fan of anyone in particular, they do bring something new to the table, and they do feel like actual characters from the games.
  2. Apparently, Pontac and Graff stopped working for Sonic Team after Team Sonic Racing, I'm pretty sure nobody, (especially me) will them. Their "writing" is a pox on humanity. I dare to say that we'll see this.
  3. I'm not a fan of Ian Flynn's prose, but I would be lying if I say I'm not excited for this book. Hopefully they will give the encyclopedia a proper announcement next year.
  4. Good news, everyone! A new Sonic the hedgehog book has been confirmed! Sauce.
  5. Only old-schoolers remember the name of "Pump it up".

  6. In all seriousness, I think Dwayne Johnson could make an excellent Knuckles.
  7. I kinda like this new take on Amy's character. I must say, however, that Kendrick sounds way too grown-up at times.
  8. Yeah, I'm not expecting the movie to come out before 2022 neither. But I believe it'll come sooner, like March or even late February.
  9. The movie will be released before April 28th. I'm calling it. One thing I'm grateful for is that the Sonic cinematic universe won't be hard to produce or market. If the first movie was produced with a budget of $81–95 million (something relatively modest for a Hollywood blockbuster), then I don't think producing spin-off titles will be much of a challenge in the future.
  10. I'm currently reading "Sonic and the tales of deception", one of the last Sonic-related books in being released, and despite how cheesy it feels at times, I'm enjoying it. As a matter of fact, the more I read, the more I want SEGA to start investing in this type of content. Let's imagine for a second the amount of possibilities Sonic literature can easily open for this franchise: Prequel books that provide the fans with more context and backstory from the games. Short novels based on the IDW comics, or even the Sonic cinematic universe. Informative books that give us an inside look of locations, artifacts, and the background story of every character of the series. Gotta ask, am I the only one who wants to see stuff like these?
  11. The thing is: The water jet-pack fits with Mario's goofy persona, so it wasn't difficult for most people to accept this change. The whole idea of Sonic using an extraordinarily large and impractical melee weapon just feels out of place for most people.
  12. To put it simply: It's just too much. Sonic was never intended to use melee weapons, or anything other than isn't based on speed and agility. Sonic holding an extraordinarily large sword just doesn't fit too well with the Sonic most people know. Also, have in mind that you're forced to use the sword from the beginning. Imagine if Flash was obligated to use a sword through an entire arch. Wouldn't that feel a little bit forced?
  13. I don't have the intention to awake false hopes, or anything of that kind. But personally, I'm crossing my fingers to see an announcement in the next game awards. On the other hand, I really (really) hope the next game will be 3-D; As much as I love 2-D, I'm currently way more interested in seeing Sonic in three dimensions.
  14. I'm currently working in the construction of +Sonic, a new guild on Ruqqus. While I do not recommend to join our guild in this current state, I do would like to encourage you to give it a look. This forum will change a lot in the next couple of months! Peace out!
