  1. You are very behind lol. No offense. Sonic Rangers was leaked seconds after the teaser dropped. From XML files to even just the names of photos in articles. Also a credible leak from 4chan back in January (talked about Roger coming back and a 'cyberspace' motif, which turned out to be true) already told us what to expect from gameplay.
  2. I stumbled across this garbage article a month ago or so. Not sure why I'm sharing negative news, I just found it really weird. Basically some guy at this publication was obviously instructed to write an article about Knuckles' being spotted on set of Sonic 2 and couldn't help but recycle a bunch of Sonic fandom jokes. It's barely even funny, and I'm saying that from a perspective of pure comedy. Weird how that "Sonic DeviantArt OC feet haha" mentality is actually still swimming around. Thought it died out long ago. Anyways there are some nicer and more insightful parts of the article, like the single sentence he described the 'rocky relationship' of Sonic and Knuckles in S3K and how that might affect their on screen appearance - which was immediately spoiled by a deviant art joke in the next sentence.

      The comments enhance the experience.

  3. Gosh, I'm gonna be honest, heavily tired of people propping up Zippo. Sure it barely lines up. But obviously he could have been way more spot on. Collections were bound to happen. S3K got widescreen, wouldn't really call that a remaster. Remember all the stuff he said that was absolutely untrue? He has no credibility.
  4. the olympic games sonic thing is hilarious. also this game looks incredibly realistic and it took me a second to tell whether it was real or not

It's the aura that gives it away.

      literal "mascot suit problem"

The funniest part is the mascot suit looks even more realistic than everyone else. It's like the Pokemon substitute doll in Smash Bros.

  5. If this is truly a playable Tails, which I'm inclined to believe, then that's awesome. Those screenshots look tailor-made to tease this. It's funny, I always assumed before I saw Colors gameplay that Tails would be playable because of his prominence in the trailer and CG, flying alongside Sonic.
  6. Open world Sonic is very intriguing. I'd wish for it to be momentum based, as I really think thats the only logical step for open world Sonic, but I'm probably thinking too optimistically. Still excited to see how everything handles. Of course that doesn't mean I'm not expecting something bad or mediocre at this point. I'm an optimist, but I'm also a realist.
  7. Doubt it. In all his talks, he barely even mentioned company policy, from what I remember. He just kinda said it's time he moves on. I think he came back for this as a sort of "passing of the torch" as someone mentioned earlier. It's not like he was doing a Sonic voice, anyway.
  8. I'm not expecting anything. Probably a lot of housekeeping and merchandise announcements plus "revealing" what has been leaked recently (game collection and colors ultimate).
  9. I can't call it a guilty pleasure. I genuinely think it's a good game and it gets way too dunked on.
  10. No, never seen this guy! This is hilarious. Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention.
  11. Could Knuckles' movie design be inspired by the comics?

I was watching this Game Apologist video and he uses this panel from I believe the Archie comics. Not sure which issue or anything like that. But look at the forehead, the thickness of his dreads, and his overall proportions. Definitely reminds me of the movie design.

Considering how every artist had no sense of consistency between one another, let alone straying too far from the character models before the tighter mandates kicked in, it could only be pure coincidence

      Cuz

Doubtful, that wasn't a very common art style for the books.

Should be from 120's B-story, "Those Were the Days", unless I'm miss my guess.

Oh well, I guess it was a longshot. Still a cool coincidence I guess.

Looks like one of Dawn Best's issues. She tended to emphasize the anatomy a little more in her earlier issues (which is what this looks like).

I dunno if I'd say the movie version is inspired by it necessarily. It seems like a compromise between keeping Knuckles closer to Sonic's size while still making him a little bigger to make him look stronger without whatever the hell they did in Boom.

    What stage are you at?

    1. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

I tend to flash between stage 2 and stage 6: Every frame of animation that passes, a new parallel Sonic universe is created and seen, then subsequently erased from existence in the next frame

I keep going back and forth between stage 1 and stage 3. I've always had a hard time reconciling the modern and classic designs as the same character TBH.

throw me off a cliff but if they really wanted me to buy that classic sonic was a younger sonic they should've just made his modern design shorter/smaller while keeping the green eyes, blue eyelids and letting him speak. To me classic sonic as he was in gens made sense to be from another dimension from the start but it took sonic team years to be like "shit we fucked up" and tried to undo what they did in Gens only to make things even more confusing than if they just left it alone.

Stage 1 and 3 with a sprinkle of 2 lol.

      1. Classic Sonic looks SO different due to style choice

      2. He is younger than modern Sonic but not by much

      3. He is from another dimension but only in the sense that his experiences in Generations caused a split timeline that leads into Mania rather than Sonic 4.

?. The fact that the characters acknowledge that he looks significantly different in Generations is just jokes and/or an acceptable minimal plothole on par with Blaze remembering Crisis City.

(Good meme though I laughed at stage 5 lol)

  13. While this sounds like a fun idea, I feel like they should explore his relationship with Metal Sonic more. In the current comics hes somewhat of a son to him. It's cool.
  14. It's definitely janky but I'm a bit annoyed at how much they rely on Ori and the Blind Forest for creative decisions. Soundtracks, location names, setpieces, I mean come on
  15. Feels a little mean, but the majority of sonic youtubers are pretty bad in my book. They spend a lot of time not getting to the point of their video as they reiterate statements that every sonic fan has heard a million times over. "Here's my VERY ORIGINAL take on Sonic Forces, where I complain about that one Tails cutscene for the first 30 minutes while miming the opinions of other videos I saw earlier today..." Anyways, I only know two on your list, so I'm adding some that I actually like: 1) Cybershell. I shouldn't need to explain. 2) Game Apologist. Also fantastic and usually doesn't waste time ranting about things everyone is already upset about. Mostly. Sometimes his videos are a bit too unstructured, but nonetheless he's entertaining. 3) Eldarin. Only recently discovered him but he covers some of the more unknown histories of the franchise in depth. Similar vibes to the above two. I only know 3 from your list, and they continue as follows: 4) SpeedSuperSonic. Mostly based on the fact that he uploads news quicker than anyone as far as I know. It would be nice if he got to the point a little quicker but I might just be impatient. He can get clickbaity though. 5) Ace Card Gaming. Pretty much the definition of a bad sonictuber from what I said earlier, from what I've seen of him at least. 6) Premydaremy. I guess it's good to have a pessimistic view to balance out, but it doesn't make his videos easier to watch. He also doesn't seem to like anything that comes out either. He recently complained about the card game not being digital... he knows children exist, right? And that card games are usually played in person, right?
