The funny thing is Unleashed was going to have shields at some point due to a green item bow with a shield icon popping up during the Rooftop run trailer. I think at one point during unleashes development the boost wasn't gonna be super sonic lite and that a shield would have been needed to achieve the aura of invincibility that appears around Sonic when he boosts.

Well it has already happened the other way around albeit under different circumstances and remains to be seen how they are going to handle that case. The relation is that you can legally use deadly force for self defense without having to retreat first and it grants you legal immunity against any criminal charges as a result.

Weird I didn't think psychics existed “yet”, but you pretty much said what I've been thinking since Unleashed was released and the only thing I would like to add to that would be a high speed cartwheel like move that could be used primarily to change up quick step segments by adding more options for vertical climbing. -Quickjump/Cartwheel: Pressing L1/L2 (to start the quick step) + jump (pressed anytime after the quick step starts) results in Sonic performing a flip to the left or right that works similar to the modern style Jump but with some height differences. A quick tap of X results in a cartwheel that is the maximum height of a full jump allowing you to reach platforms or paths that may be elevated without any ramps (or gimmicks) leading to it. Now holding X results in a much higher jump (twice the height of a full jump) that can launch you to new paths and gimmicks as well as letting you either perform any of Sonic's air actions or performing tricks to build the boost bar. Finally this move would be one of the more advance techniques that mostly only speed runners would use to find the fastest path through the level while maintaining both a decent speed and a sufficient amount of boost. Edit: I get it now it's something here in the water supply that causes Atlien Sonic fans of the same age to have similar thoughts. /conspiracy
