Something I just thought of: could these shorts lead into Encore Mode's story? (Assuming there even is a different story there in the first place)

Instead of giving continues (which haven't really been useful since Sonic 2), it seems like a group of lives, say around 3, would be much more useful as an SS reward for Mach 3. And as far as continues go, they should just make them unlimited. Again, the fact that you can save your game basically makes having them finite pointless. And why is there no Time Attack for the Special Stages? That still seems like a missed opportunity to me.

Maybe his looking up sprite has animation? It could be a weird frame then, if that's rhe case.

Interesting. It sounds like with the OO sub-boss, the spikes are small enough to fit Sonic and Tails, but not Knuckles. I thought I remember hearing something about how Knuckles being taller than Sonic was reflected in his hitbox in the classic games.

I'm getting better at this "updating" thing.

From what I recall, the original Organization was made up of Xemnas, Xigbar, Xaldin, Vexen, Lexaeus and Zexion at its foundation, with Xemnas, Vexen and Zexion being the only scientists among them while the other three were just guards. Any other members were simply stragglers of that same world (Sai-X and Axel as examples) or are of unknown origins. (Roxas being an exception, since we all know where he came from)

Man, do I love this game. Going around all sneaky or guns ablazing feels great whichever way you decide to play. But it's true about the grind, though. I'm a few hours in and still only on Mercury with an Excalibur frame. Still, it's a fun time, so the grindiness might not feel too bad at all, really.

An update in the same year? What a twist!

Well, I've had this story idea for a while and finally decided to share it. It's only the first chapter (and the only chapter, at the moment) but, hopefully, I'll actually keep this going. Fingers crossed, and I hope you enjoy!

Tbh, I have actually been thinking about the whole lives thing lately and how they affect Sonic games. Since they seem arbitrary in their current state, it makes one wonder how they'd affect the "Rings for health" system, as well. Mainly, though, my problem is figuring out what to do with all the decapitated Sonic heads if they have no more use. [emoji14]

Well, I mean, Odyssey is the best 3D Sonic game to come out in recent times. [emoji14] Also @Indigo Rush, that was an excellent book report. 10 oughtta 10.

So, just tried a demo at my Wal-Mart. I only played maybe five minutes, but I liked it overall. A couple of issues for me, though: - Mario has a lot of momentum in his run compared to other games. It caught me off guard at first. Also, something feels a little weird about how he turns. It's nothing game breaking, howevern Just something to get used to. - In order to do a spin jump, you have to do a lot more running in tight circles so Mario starts spinning in place, then you can actually do a spin jump. Overall, I enjoyed my time on the demo. Definitely looking forward to getting the full game.
