@Jango The manager of the website, Ryan Scarlett, already knew some actual details while Zippo was leaking stuff, so yes lol. It's just he's gone awfully quiet on this end lately after updating the banners even on the discord to this, which is
SpoilerHe probably got a press kit tbh

Its best not to let others overhype things for you. It keeps expectations in check.

(Sonic Prime info) Hey guys
You might like this one :^)
-
-
Honestly... if Prime sonic is alone and we have a roulette of characters each dimension... it could work
Like the first dimension is 2 episodes long and it has tails knuckles and amy
The second has shadow rouge and omega
Third Cream silver blaze

God imagine something like
One dimension is styled like a 1950s detective movie and has the chaotix
And the other is like team dark being agents in a terminator esque dimension
Then the other has knuckles and the echidna tribe
That is the way to do it

For all you Persona fans out there:

> SoA told Sonic Team to not include vocal themes since Generations in 2011
> Crush 40's Sonic Youth released in mid 2012
-
-
I was gonna say, for some people, vocal songs are what they remember most about the games they were in. Why would Sega think having them was a BAD thing? I'm so glad that Iizuka fought to get them back for Forces. They generated a lot of buzz for the game. The benefits of having them are undeniable.
-
And now I'm heavily concerned about SoA allegedly getting more control of the series going forward.
Vocal songs are, and have always been, huge for this series. These things are sometimes the best part of the games for many and even transcend the games they're in, to the point where you'll hear the fucking Sonic R ost in random ass videos that have nothing to do with gaming.
Hell, you can call me crazy, but I'd say that Live and Learn is only a few random ass sporting event appearances away from being just as iconic as gd GHZ; if it isn't already. More people recognize these songs than you'd think.
The idea that someone within Sega actually wished for this simply confirms to me (more so at least) that there are people there who, quite frankly, don't understand this series at all.

@Strickerx5 I mean that was nearly 10 years ago things change
-
i still remember back as a sheltered kid who mainly only listened to videogame and/or anime music, that the soundtrack and vocal themes were half the reason to be hyped for a new sonic game just to have a heap of new music to add to my mp3 player.

REMOVE THE BROW, SEGA

I dunno, looking at the pic, that art seems pretty lowbrow

I like the brow. It just needs to be animated, because usually Sonic looks like he's had bad botox these days.

Ideally it'd phase in and out, along with any other details they would've added to 2D illustrations of the character, but yeah we're stuck with literal eyelid emoting so not much point hoping for an entirely new rig for the characters
I guess swapping out models would work though, since they do that with his side mouth in the first place

@Wraith I mean I understand that he doesn't look as determined as Brow!Sonic does, but the whole idea is to give back to the less determined expressions he could pull off tbh

Holy shit, the Sonic Mania Lego might actually have a chance
Out of all those projects only one was chosen; usually it's two or three but the Sonic Mania set is "still being considered", which means they're basically trying to figure out through official channels whether the IP is actually available for a product.
So basically it's either gonna ride or die by SEGA's word, or the conflicts it might have with the Mario toys
-
At the very least, Sega is thinking about it. Maybe they'll think of doing something more.
Reminds me of the Lego Portal project, which was super promising and got through voting, but then it was time to reach out to Valve... and they declined.
A few months later, Portal got into Lego Dimensions. Huh, guess Valve had other plans.
-
-
@Polkadi~☆: Imagine a full-on Sonic Lego line 👀
@Dejimon11: More likely the Mario IP. Nintendo spent about 4-5 years on the Lego Mario plans specifically to make it different from regular bricks; I don't think SEGA will be as concerned with innovation for the sake of it if they ever do give this the go-ahead.

-
Is this a Lego show or Dragon Ball I can't tell anymore

Is that fucking Schemmel? lol
Either way, this looks hype af. Animation is on point. Need to look into the studio behind this.

@Strickerx5 I think the studio's name is Flying Bark Productions. They worked on Glitch Techs and Rise of the TMNT, so the action is def. gonna be on point for the rest of this series

I'm just really happy that we're finally starting to make our characters move in that insane dynamic fashion we always see in anime, while still maintaining a western look. Its a middle ground I've wanted the west to work towards since my teenage years.

dang I’ve been focused on the spine outline for so long, I never realized the “best” 2D Sonic artwork barely gives him a neck in the first place.*adds it to the pile of things that could be fixed*

"One Piece will not be ending within five years, but Luffy's journey will"
Even when it 'ends' it still never ends smh
-
Though to be fair if this means that all of this will be Luffy singlemindedly aiming for the one piece till that point, then pulling a 180 on the journey and actually getting invested in the world events like he was with Fishman Island instead, that'll be pretty cool I suppose. Plus they could actually get to use all the roster and politics they built up and left behind without having to set up any new settings as well, kinda doing a reverse marathon of the world to reach the capital/whoever becomes the ultimate threat in the story
Considering how much story happens off screen in the series, though, I'm not really holding my breath that it won't be all flashbacks/backstory

The next big Sonic game is finally being revealed... the full 3D boost formula is shown in a few clips... an unstable world warps into existence right in front of Sonic, stopping him in his tracks... then out of the corner of his eye, he catches the glimpse of a flaming blur speeding into the distance...
“Sonic Rush: Sol Edition”
how you feeling

Honestly I've been wanting to see a new boost game that takes more inspiration from the Rush games. And not just because of Blaze, lol. It was nice the Rush games still had unique level gimmicks for example.

Forget rolling physics and level design, Metal Sonic in GT actually makes the boost good again
- Builds up speed gradually but has no (noticeable) top speed
- Eats up rings like no tomorrow, demanding that you focus on collecting them to play well...
- But doesn't cancel back to the base speed when you do lose it, leaving the best way to play through using it throughout the level rather than one area like Colors
- And it doesn't break platforming in half, since if you're falling already, it's too gradual to stop you from falling
Plus when you do fly, it's as Metal Sonic, and it feels cool as hell to pull off
-
As soon as I saw the final boss for Sonic GT, I knew I had to personally run through it and document this for the good of the Sonic community and humanity itself
It is done

Part of me wants ports of 3D Sonic games to modern systems, especially in collection form, but imo that’s where the 3D fangamer’s back door is, like Taxman’s was with the classics, soooo... kinda holding out for that outcome instead tbh
-
Sure all of this is anti consumer but as long as Nintendo can play the consumer demand + scarcity card to get people to actually buy full priced ports, this is going to get worse and worse, not better. Money says more than verbal outcry ever could to a company.
You think SMG2 was left out on accident? Nah they want to keep the demand for that one fresh enough for a remaster on the next big system.
Only way to stop it is for everyone to stop buying the games or for Nintendo to eat dirt so hard, they have no option but to pull out all the big guns just to try and get their fans to come back out of goodwill appeal. Not counting on either option anytime soon tbh
-
No Straight Roads looks to be entirely my kinda jam from the aesthetic, music, and setpieces being used by it, but the actual gameplay and story... Eeeh, I dunno what it's going for? If it felt like it'll be something as tightly made as Undertale this would have been an insta-purchase for me, but with everything I've seen from those two departments (level/stage design especially feels oddly pointless) it just feels more confusing to me and feels like the game is missing a core part of itself in the process. Maybe I'm just not seeing the full picture right now, but from what I have seen it feels like a shame, as the concept totally rules and really deserves a kickass game backing it

Currently thirsty for some High-Definition™ Screenshots from a brand new Sonic game rn
-
-

-
There's just something about absorbing every detail and texture of a game's aesthetic in a perfectly distilled frame before we actually see the game in motion that's so addictive, I look forward to them almost as much as new gameplay footage, if not moreso lol. In motion, the aesthetic and detail are still there, but in screenshot form it feels a rabbit hole of detail: it just keeps going and going and going....
