On one hand that concept art looks freaking sick, but on the other hand I don't think Sonic could ever be in a zero gravity situation without supersonic tbh

The Deleter got a reaction from Ferno in It's almost 2020 and Sonic UnleasHD is still the most graphically impressive Sonic ga
Small tangent but the only thing special about the Hedgehog Engine 2 is that it has global illumination + physically based rendering built into it as a tool - which the Unleashed team had to manually create by hand for each scene - and less jaggies on shadows. What you get out of that is the ability for someone to literally drag and drop a sun/light source of a specific value into an environment and call it a day, without necessarily having to tweak either the lighting or the materials much for a result, which is exactly what Forces did given the lack of lighting effects found on anything other than a shiny material. Despite pbr, Unleashed has more advanced ambient lighting tech thanks to the effort the team put into working around the hardware limitations.
It's still an "improvement" in a way that it makes the work the team has to do for lighting easier, but until the team actually has the same level of passion for environmental design that they baked global illumination effects, arrays, and values into every object by hand essentially, we're not going to get something that looks better than that on the art direction side. Maybe with ray tracing tech can it close the gap that it even replicates the tech that HE2 is missing from Unleashed's graphics, but you still need artists who give a crap about environmental lighting in the first place.

If anyone's interested in exactly how many workarounds the Unleashed team had to pull off to get the degree of global illumination they did at the time, check out this video:
    https://www.gdcvault.com/play/1428/Global-Illumination-in-SONIC
It covers pretty much every technique they used to pre-bake the lighting into the environments and onto the character models, and it's pretty in depth, if a little hard to follow at times due to the translation delay
Edit: Actually scratch that it's just hard to follow in general, I forgot how many times I fell asleep trying to get through this lol

The Deleter got a reaction from Supah Berry in Slang question since I'm not a native english speaker so the meaning's kinda lost to
Wait how can you implement stuff like boo into your relationship dialog without thinking there even is a relationship to begin with
She's obviously being flirty with the language boundaries you're used to using in this case imo. It doesnt have to come attached with feelings but it should be a pretty good indicator of how comfortable she is with the idea of you and her, at least

I'm not on here as often as I usually have been, but I see your posts on this time to time and I'd say - unless I'm missing any real world context - the next steps of you guys' relationship is up to you imo. She likes you and hangs out around you, is relatively comfortable using these pet names, is receptive and supportive of the stuff you have said, and all things considered is incredibly open to you specifically, right? I don't know the exact degree of all that irl, but does it feel like a typical friendship angle or does she look like she's looking for something more out of you? Do you want something more out of this? Do you want to "risk" that or take it slow instead?

Me personally, if i were in that situation and didn't know one way or the other but wanted it to be something more, I'd try and hang out as much as possible, similar to dates but not formally calling them that, and seeing where it goes from there. But I'm not so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Either way dude don't stress too much over it; It's good to understand the signals that do show up, but sometimes things are simpler than they seem when under a 40xx magnifying glass of scrutiny. Focus on enjoying the moments and understanding what you want first and foremost imo; that'll be what defines the relationship above all else on both your parts

The Deleter got a reaction from SpinSlash165 in Honestly, if there ever had to be an in-canon explanation for Sonic’s eye colour chan
My headcanon has always been that the more Sonic has been exposing himself to the chaos emeralds, the more the "super" traits have rubbed off on him in his normal form. Eye color, extra moves, chaos powers, afterimage/chaos energy trails, etc. Doesnt hurt that it fits the anime-esque superpower angle the series leans towards either.

The Deleter got a reaction from Shaddy Zaphod in Is it common knowledge that Funimation tampers with dialogue of anime to suit their o
Why is it the injection of this word that pisses you off, and not the fact that people are getting mad at a character for using the word misogyny, to describe an instance of misogyny directed at her, because they want to keep it as "Lol so tusunder!" for their own enjoyment? (Like c'mon babe, you know you want it...)
I don't understand why you want to strive for justice and yet keep diving further and further into the right-wing bubble of, essentially, offense and whataboutism politics, when they're actively taking a stand against issues that are inherently centered around some form of injustice like misogyny, rape, racism or the like. All the people who attach themselves to fighting against these issues are a "problem", as they strive to prove, and thus all movements attached to the issues are a problem. Why? Because that one guy who hates this kind of thing being mentioned managed to find that one case where scumbags who attached themselves to this movement, targeted and ruined an innocent bystander's life! And that's bad because that's never happened due to the issues the other "side" has attached themselves to, right? (Y'know, misogyny, rape, racism, etc...)
If you want to take issue with the behavior of those individuals, then maybe chastise them as the individuals they are and leave it at that? Do you really believe that all of these movements are inherently injust towards the instances and cases they fight against? Why is this instance of using this word ill-fitting? Why is taking a side in politics against a supposed injustice a bad thing?
I mean for real here. If you were walking down the street, saw an instance of this dialog between a man and a woman, the man was acting just as crass towards her as this scene, and she ended up using the same word choice to describe him. Would you be mad at the attitude the man was having towards the woman? Or the woman for calling the man that, because of what you've associated it with? Who's the injust party here? Who actually stands to be hurt the most by this exchange of words? And better yet, which party could have avoided receiving such a retort from the other through a choice of words, rather than who they are as a person?

This is probably the only anime shirt I'll ever find myself buying in my lifetime, and even with this design I've been spooked by how many people immediately recognize it as Simon from Gurren Lagann
Granted it's only out of clear love for the series, and them being slightly unsure anyways and asking, but still, I don't think I need to be any more blatant than this if it's already that bad lol

Being by the same director and screenwriter who made Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill, I am baffled that this movie is barely getting any traction. I'd trust the two of them to make a fun and satisfying movie, but I haven't got the chance to watch it in the first place
